I Absolutely love that they show you how much danger the Vice Captain is to Kafka. That he really could be killed just as easily as anyone else if someone like the Vice Captain got a reason to take him out. I love the tiny little nod to their promise that Mina let slip now that Kafka is finally part of the crew officially and not just as an extra.
