It's also the most popular Eeveelution, so people just add it to their collection thinking the "investment" is good. But people who think the children's card game is worth investing in need to either enjoy it for the game that it is, or get into normal investments like an adult. And most people who rip packs whether they just buy one pack or clear a store, their goal isn't to have fun, it's to make a profit because of how many people like it. A majority of them collect to resell, a smaller part will actually play the game, and an even smaller part will actually go to large events and play competitively. Obviously do what you want with your money, but if you're not gonna enjoy playing the game, don't take it from someone who will.

I don’t disagree, fully, but some of your points are kind of not agreeable. I’ve played since Pokemon was released in the 90s and I’ve been on the side of collector, card player, gamer, and all aspects. I agree it takes away from some people that enjoy the aspect of just gaming, but the moment people put value into cards like base set charizard even years ago, and labeled anything with first edition, that was when the problem started. I get the point you’re trying to make, but who is to say no one is buying the packs also to play with the Moonbreon? Although it’s unlikely, you never know. I play magic the gathering and some of the cards in general are far higher in value than anything magic produces at face value, and I play with the cards, and yes I also chase for certain pulls too for various reasons. Do I play with them all? No. Do I want to sell some of them to make money back potentially? Possibly. I see your point of course, but also I don’t see kids in general with credit cards or cash most of the time, it’s usually adults buying/paying for these things. And also, I believe Pokemon is rated E for everyone. And when I was a kid, the ratio of cards I bought compared to my parent was not even comparable. I do feel bad for anyone that goes to a market and something is sold out due to scalpers and resellers in that regard, but if you’re going to dictate how someone spends their money when there’s no buy limit/limitation on something that is enjoyable, that’s pretty idk. If I am wrong in any of that, please tell me. And your point of saying normal investments like an adult, I hate to tell you, but investing in things like pokemon doesn’t mean you’re not an adult, I don’t fully get what you were trying to say with that. Agree to disagree. And for the record, I don’t agree with what scalpers do. It does make me angry, I can think of multiple things that do upset me in that regard. I remember going to stores as a kid and booster boxes being sold out too though, and feeling that sadness of not getting what I hoped for, so I do get that sentiment. Have a great day.
