It’s all good, but he does shareplays, which inadvertently encourages it in some way. Even though he's not responsible, I do believe it does have an influence.
It sucks that there’s little kids who use their parents credit cards for pixels. And so many kids are getting gambling addictions for a game that sucks. I hate EA so much.

The gap in pack weight is what infuriates me even more. It’s so easy to constantly pack trash like Wubben-Moy, Banza, Keating etc. You can literally pack each of them 5+ times a day. And it is genuinely near impossible to get players from the tiers above them. Where tf is Nani, Garnacho, Ben White. They’re nowhere near the best cards and even they are impossible to pack for me. I’ve done over fifty 80+ player picks and over 80 of those prem and WSL 77+ packs. I’ve gotten nothing. Nothing special from all of my big packs saved over the last 3 weeks. The only place where the good cards exist is the store packs. The pathetic, manipulative and monopolised pack weight is what’s driving me away from this game more than the gameplay. I did those big upgrade pack sbc’s that came out today and got nothing again.

(1)Risk money or something else of value (2)to have a chance of getting something (3)of value. You can’t risk money as you never actually use money to buy the packs, it’s always the ingame currency. You can also never get something of value, because cards and other in-game items do not have any actual value. I’m no lawyer at all, this is my own “research”, but what I’ve found is basically that it can’t be considered gambling if you always lose your money. Edit: I still see this as gambling, I think it is sickening that it is targeted towards children and young adults. I’ve been saying so for a while and have actually taken a stance and been in contact with my countries regulating bodies of gambling over this. They unfortunately also said it wasn’t considered gambling even though they agreed it was disgusting.

They would still made insane amount of money, maybe even more than they have now, simply because if the game would have been good, much more players would have bought & played regularly.
I'm in my 50s and remember saving my wages in the 90s to buy the first fifa and a megadrive to play it. I'm 40s, used to save my paper round money for games.....how times have changed....u should give efootball a try before u hang up your thumbs tho.....dunno if u tried iss in the 90s but its just better gameplay wise, n a bit slower/more realistic which helps when age starts to slow your reaction times down.

In Belgium buying points is banned. Other countries should also do this. I've spent over £4000 which is roughly $5000. I feel awful about it and next year I'll be doing RTG 100% because it's not healthy and it's a bad gambling addiction. EA need to be sued bigtime

Last year I spent around 300$ AU on the game and this year I haven't bought anything but the Ultimate Edition. I'm pretty happy with myself and I've been able to make a great team for free (TOTY Hansen etc.) But a big problem is that people like me who don't spend money on the game will say things like "if you don't like it don't buy it" - completely disregarding the fact that this is a predatory system that hurts vulnerable people. Not to mention it hurts the actual game to those who like FIFA, EA are more busy selling packs than selling the game. Thank you for being one of the only notable you tubers to really talk about this in depth.

I am very happy that you post these kinds of videos Nick and call out all the bs from EA. One thing I feel like that is not talked about enough though, which you talked about in this video, is how unfinished this game is. The dynamic images of players are broken, the game freezes almost everytime you buy a player while in the SBC transfer market, there are sample texts on various places and even the AI is just BROKEN AS HELL in so many ways you cannot even list them in one comment. And for that EA want a full prize for the game itself and on top of that ask for $50 for pack which might NOT EVEN give you something good. Getting a good player doesnt justify the prize, but for $50 you would at least expect something half decent out of it. This company is actually getting away with murder...
Even after 3 months nothing changed. I need to reload the game 5 times a day because the menues are glitching and freezing. Script is here with last minutes goals from opponents and also opponents that quit at 3-3 in last minutes and they do toxic celebrations. Bro this game is crap and we play only because of addiction. The gameplay was terrible and punished you for trying to play good football, combining men and women is a joke, and playing the game wasn't fun at all, and the worst part is EA will not change anything until the community joins the boycott. The worst thing is that other companies are making the same thing! Konami is going to this disgusting rout with efootball, where they don't care about graphics and visuals and gameplay, but only packs and cards! Last week they dropped 46GB update, and when you install it and log to the game you find that its literally the same game, they did not update anything, literally, the only thing they did is that they filled the data base with new cards and packs for the euros and the next competitions before efootball 25!
I’m an efootball player and have to agree. It’s all packs and most of it is recycled. The gameplay in my opinion had just gotten worse since V1.0 where they introduced assisted defending because noobs are too lazy to learn the defending mechanics. Now with version 3.4 the game feels totally assisted and on rails. They nerf almost everything to artificially close the skill gap so that new players feel they can play the game and hence spend money. It’s purely a scam. They literally ruined a great franchise in PES to replace it with this BS
As somebody who has suffered from gambling addiction I can’t tell you how difficult it is watching others suffer from it through a game I once loved so so much! This year I stopped playing around January and I’m so glad I did! My mental health improved drastically and I’m only playing atm because of TOTS and my friends are playing too! EA really do need to be held accountable for all the shit they’ve shoved down peoples throats the last couple years with store packs and killing the market and their constant mistakes! It’s actually criminal! Needs to be a governing body that can sort this absolute mess out! I would love to play fifa of old not just for nostalgic reasons but because it was actually enjoyable even if I lost games etc and the rewards felt respectable! Hey Nick, I 100% share your sentiment on this game as it is nothing like the old FIFA’s. I ended up buying FC late this year, about a month ago since it was on sale since one of my friends informed me that you can now upgrade some of your favorite players. I decided to buy it and played the first kickoff game with my older brother. He hasn’t played since FIFA 16 and the first thing he said was that the cuts and players dribbling were clunky and slow, the game seems more unrealistic despite the better graphics, and overall in was just a clunky game. We have been playing FIFA since FIFA 11 and it is really sad to see the state of the game now
I bought EA FC 24 in January. My last fifa before that was Fifa 16, and I can say that I really like EA FC 24, playstyles really made this game fun. I agree on many points Nick said such as AI defence, auto-blocks & all that, but there are 2 main thing that are really questionable: 1. Why EA have added qualifiers to WL? This literally kills the joy of playing this mode, because you are guaranteed to face 20 opponents who beat at least 4 people out of 10 to meet you. Champs is a warzone, really impossible to enjoy most of the time. 2. Pack weight on same OVR cards. Example: I've got 90 Völler like 7 times in my life, and never saw Ramires when he had 90 OVR. People get 94 Alisson 5 times a day right now. Why 94 OVR Alisson appears in packs more then Palmer, Foden, Saliba, Son & etc. players of the same rating?

Jumping to Efootball from Fifa a couple of years back is the best decision I’ve ever done. Every time i come across your videos, it’s a negative video about EA. It says a lot about the state of that game. Getting great players on Efootball is easier. No need to grind or pay. Plays so much better as well. I’ve never had so much fun on a football game in years. It takes a good while to understand the game and how to build your team, but it’s so worth it.
Look efootball has its issues too. Especially if you speak to PES veterans who find the new game not as polished as the old ones. I’ll say you don’t have to spend a fortune to get decent players. I could rant about the gameplay but I generally just stop when it starts annoying me or I continue to get dodgy connections. EA from the sounds of things has become very predatory in nature when it comes to these packs. I think when it’s a game targeted at younger people then laws should be put in place to protect kids from things like this. As adults we smart enough to realize $50 for a pack is lunacy but for a kid with his parents credit card it’s open season.

I quit playing fifa back in 22 and boy am I glad I did. I kind of started to get addicted to packs during tots and I had to realize that it wasn’t worth it. I still enjoy watching streams and vids but if it wasn’t for the creators, nobody would pay attention to fifa or play fifa at all
I think part of the frustration too is the overflow of mid cards they release that are so easy to pack while making the actual useable promo cards virtually impossible to pack by grinding the game while releasing these store packs that give you a chance to instantly pack them

They don’t tell us what are the chances to get the good players, just a generic “90% guaranteed Premier TOTS” yea 88.8% guaranteed for Watkins and 1.2% for Haaland. They do this on purpose and its shameful. I mean cmon I packed 11 TOTS but only 2 from prem, those 2 being the lowest price wise. Disgusting. Something like “ 87-91 rated TOTS chance: 65% 92-97 rated TOTS chance: 35%
The problem is promos, the earlier games never had them only toty and tots, maybe a couple more. You would use golds up until tots, now you have a mad team without even playing a game, ea has their entire focus on promo packs cause people want more and more special cards so they use that to empty their bank accounts, promo fifas don't even compare to what this game used to be. For people like me it's easy, don't play and I'm so glad I don't. So much more to life than this crap. I actually feel bad that your job is literally to play this awful game. How this isn't illegal just blows my mind. Teaching kids to gamble without limits from a young age and ea just see dollar signs
Exactly I remember when we used to use gold cards the entire year even way back before I really got into fut people used to be playing with bronze and silver cards now you can buy the game play for a week and already have some of the best players basically everyone except the super top tier rare cards
It’s crazy how EA sucks you back in to play after you haven’t played for a while by secretly upping the pack weights. A couple of weeks ago, I hadn’t played for like a month. Then I opened 2x 2x81 packs that I hadn’t opened before and got back to back Golazo 94 Vidic and 92 Lampard. Before that, I hadn’t packed an icon EVER in over 7+ years of playing.
i stopped playing fifa after 17 after i realized they shifted their focus to ultimate team and there was no work done for the main game. stopped playing ultimate team in 15 and only played seasons since then but they focussed all their resources into ultimate team so i stopped buying the new game. i think i was right with my foresight. this game was my childhood i would run back home from school to play this game i loved so much. its all over. same gameplay same glitches same engine year after year but repackaging and selling it as a new game

Nick, it's damn right that you are using your platform to promote this message. It's not just a cash grab, it plants seeds in the minds of young people that gambling is okay. It's not straight up roulette or blackjack or slot machines, but you don't pay your 50 dollars knowing you'll get alisson, estupinan and gold fodder. It is a gamble and it's subtly putting that addictive and reckless personality into kids. They have taken it all too far, the only reason people buy the game every year is because EA promote a huge GAMEPLAY change. People hope and pray that it's good, evo's, player lock, volta, hypermotion, they all end up being underwhelming and forgotten for the most part, and it gets overshone by the new fire vs ice, or thunderstruck or whatever. I remember the days of black friday being one of the biggest promos of the year, winter ratings refresh, then TOTY would come round and people would beg and plead and do chores or whatever just to get their parents to pay for ONE 100k pack, which was the biggest pack in fifa. Coming up against a TOTY, or a gold ronaldo, neymar, messi, even a gold naaingolan in march a few years ago was still a 70/80k card, and back then 70/80k was a difficult ask for one player. Now, new promo team that's out over two weeks, new 500k pack in store every day, it's all gambling, and their average player base will be teenagers. I am a recovering gambler. It ruined my life and I didn't even have influences growing up. I can't imagine how many kids that just love football are gonna end up becoming addicted gamblers because of the greed of EA. It's diabolical and I am so glad someone with a large following is FINALLY calling them out on their bullshit. I just hope you stick to your word nick, and keep promoting this message. People will still watch your content without you ever needing to go into the promo packs section, I hope other creators follow your lead.

In Belgium buying fifa points is banned because teen gambling got so bad a lot of games that you can buy currency to gamble with you are unable to buy it.
My theory is that’s why Pro League doesn’t have its own TOTS team anymore And yes this year no non-top 5 league has it’s own team, but they removed the Pro League as a side team for no reason Also they mixed the Eredivisie up with CSL one year and why? Because they were on the point of cancelling FIFA points as well…….

What a great video nick. As a old fifa player myself (from fifa 10 till 17) I can relate. I stopped with FUT because there was too much grind to get and keep a decent team. But this casino game that already cost 80 euro new price just to play it. I stepped over to e-football in 2022 just to give it a try. Now, e-football is also not perfect but it is free game. Sure the legends are better but I got now 6 of them for free by just playing the game. Too all fifa players give e-football al try, it is free;) and you don't need PS plus (or Xbox gold) to play it online.
I think ultimate team mode in sports games have hit beyond its peak. They feel like chores, they are riddled with micro transactions for pay to win and are just not worth playing every year. Same repetitive promo cards with crap pack weight.
You mentioned it briefly this video but the champs rewards for TOTS are AWFUL, especially at the top end. I never even got those packs but the tradeable 11 TOTS pack was one of the highlights of TOTS and now it’s removed. Completely ruins any vibe or feeling that it’s TOTS for me

Share play of pack openings is one of the reasons this game is like this. I remember when it was against TOS for someone else to open your rewards back in the day- they must have changed the TOS when they noticed it increased fifa point purchases

You’re totally correct, I’ve written reviews about this subject everywhere where this game is sold. I wrote to EA directly saying this years ago but there’s no point since the support people are not working at EA. I played this game since 2002 and this game isn’t fun anymore, the worst thing is that I’ve tried putting down the controller but since FIFA is the only game I’ve been playing during the last 10 years this game is the only thing I’m good at, it’s really sad because it feels like I’ve wasted my best years of life playing this bs.
For me the best Fifa was Fifa 11. In that you actually build a team of 86's and they still played great. Gameplay was so smooth as well nothing like this we have today. When they started doing untradable packs you know it was over.
@@QuantumGamingUploads Back in FIFA 11 and 12 there was silver cards that was as good as the best golds, some silvers as well as some really low rated golds ware insane, I remember using Agbonlahor he was amazing, since there was barely any promo cards, only team of the weeks the best team you could have was a gold team mixed with silvers, if you ware really lucky you might have an inform but they ware really rare.
You can see how much Nick truly cares about this game and its audience by listening to the amount of swears that have not been blipped-out which results in smaller revenue of the video

Its a crazy addiction. I started with Fifa 09 when FUT was first introduced and got addicted to it and took me a few years to slow down and finally kick that habit.

Ive never been in a higher rivals divison but its just not fun at all . I dont know if other suffer this but theres times where my team feels amazing . Fast , brilliant passing , fowards where the should be just playing normal and then theres times where my teams feels like its in the mud. Players cant make a pass to save themselves , losing the ball constantly , delay in passing , fowards missing hitting the net from two foot. Its just garabage . Best thing people can do is to stay away from store packs . Dont buy them . Spam the exchange and player pick to get cards there in them. Dont give ea any more money they dont deserve it
I agree totally I'm 44 years old and played all Fifa games of the past! That's why I decided last year that Fifa 23 will be my last Fifa game. I made sure that I build the best UT without spending a penny last year and play Fifa 23 casually with buffed up team till now. But wont be spending any money on another EA game. They just trying to rip off kids who will spend real money to keep up with the curve. It's sad.

It's just so sad we get all this 'content' in the store. Like they can be creative with the store but not with the SBC's. We could have gotten a SBC with a pack that contains 5 players of 88+ from the latest promo's. That's something that would make the content so much more unique and especially hype. I added how much I spent on fifa points since FUT 14, £6,500. Along with 6,500 hours gameplay. What other game costs £1 per hour to play.. Not spent a penny on packs for the past year now

The biggest problem for me is this years drop rate of quality promo players. I don't spend any money, but play fairly consitently. I started playing before toty and haven't pulled a single higher tier promo player since then. All SBC players team 🤷🏽♂️
I’ve been a cod grinder the last 4ish years. This was my first year really getting into FUT since 2015. I use fc24 as the “chill” gameplay but definitely have to handicap myself. Never go past div 4, quit at first sign of toxic players, quit if you see mbappe, ya know the usual

It's painful to see a beautiful game that most of us grew up playing with has turned into this. The gameplay alone is so heavy that you can't even properly move players to attack or defend. And don't let me even get started on the forceful inclusion of the female players.

yeah, I saw a TH-cam short of a kid celebrating he got like 4 TOTS in a 1 pack but he spend like 3.500 FC points and 1: They were all untradable 2: Only one of those players maybe was worth the spend. Besides, in a month It's all gonna be gone. People have fish memory. Remember last year? Futties was crazy, I made the best team possible on a 3 month old account without spending money. All this TOTS are worth something now, but in a month EA are gonna have to keep releasing better cards, more packs and give people reasons to just log on because the gamaplay is shit. I can't even chill while playing Squad Battles because I can feel the mechanics being broken, it's stressful. I hate VD and still it's my main CB because of his animations. There's docens and docens of players with better stats in every possible way, but VD is special because of course in real life he might be the best CB but you don't have to make him so good that it breaks the game. Also, It's been 10 days since TOTS started and I've packed more than 10 TOTS. All discard, there's no more fun.
Only solution is what happened here in Belgium. Fifa points and packs are qualified as gambling by the gambling commission. EA needed to prove that they do not sell to minors, which they could not, so they excluded the possibility to buy FIFA points here. Yes, I can only play as an RTG, but it's the only way not to lure minors into hardcore gambling (yes, you can probably avoid by changing PS5 settings or buy upfront online, I don't know, but at least there is a minimum of protection against this Pay to play )
Nick is one of the only fifa TH-camrs that don't glaze ea like those ea "gamechangers" whose job is to inform ea of any problems but I swear they don't do or say anything since they wanna stay employed by them which results in minimal criticism
I only spend coins I have saved up on packs for tots as I can actually get good things and get coins back so easily but now they are scams and I want a pack with 250 players like last year which was so worth it

The gap in pack weight is what infuriates me even more. It’s so easy to constantly pack trash like Wubben-Moy, Banza, Keating etc. You can literally pack each of them 5+ times a day. And it is genuinely near impossible to get players from the tiers above them. Where tf is Nani, Garnacho, Ben White. They’re nowhere near the best cards and even they are impossible to pack for me. I’ve done over fifty 80+ player picks and over 80 of those prem and WSL 77+ packs. I’ve gotten nothing. Nothing special from all of my big packs saved over the last 3 weeks. The only place where the good cards exist is the store packs. The pathetic, manipulative and monopolised pack weight is what’s driving me away from this game more than the gameplay. I did those big upgrade pack sbc’s that came out today and got nothing again.

(1)Risk money or something else of value (2)to have a chance of getting something (3)of value. You can’t risk money as you never actually use money to buy the packs, it’s always the ingame currency. You can also never get something of value, because cards and other in-game items do not have any actual value.
I’m no lawyer at all, this is my own “research”, but what I’ve found is basically that it can’t be considered gambling if you always lose your money.
Edit: I still see this as gambling, I think it is sickening that it is targeted towards children and young adults. I’ve been saying so for a while and have actually taken a stance and been in contact with my countries regulating bodies of gambling over this. They unfortunately also said it wasn’t considered gambling even though they agreed it was disgusting.

Last year I spent around 300$ AU on the game and this year I haven't bought anything but the Ultimate Edition. I'm pretty happy with myself and I've been able to make a great team for free (TOTY Hansen etc.) But a big problem is that people like me who don't spend money on the game will say things like "if you don't like it don't buy it" - completely disregarding the fact that this is a predatory system that hurts vulnerable people. Not to mention it hurts the actual game to those who like FIFA, EA are more busy selling packs than selling the game. I am very happy that you post these kinds of videos Nick and call out all the bs from EA. One thing I feel like that is not talked about enough though, which you talked about in this video, is how unfinished this game is. The dynamic images of players are broken, the game freezes almost everytime you buy a player while in the SBC transfer market, there are sample texts on various places and even the AI is just BROKEN AS HELL in so many ways you cannot even list them in one comment. And for that EA want a full prize for the game itself and on top of that ask for $50 for pack which might NOT EVEN give you something good. Getting a good player doesnt justify the prize, but for $50 you would at least expect something half decent out of it. This company is actually getting away with murder...

The worst thing is that other companies are making the same thing! Konami is going to this disgusting rout with efootball, where they don't care about graphics and visuals and gameplay, but only packs and cards! Last week they dropped 46GB update, and when you install it and log to the game you find that its literally the same game, they did not update anything, literally, the only thing they did is that they filled the data base with new cards and packs for the euros and the next competitions before efootball 25!
I’m an efootball player and have to agree. It’s all packs and most of it is recycled. The gameplay in my opinion had just gotten worse since V1.0 where they introduced assisted defending because noobs are too lazy to learn the defending mechanics. Now with version 3.4 the game feels totally assisted and on rails. They nerf almost everything to artificially close the skill gap so that new players feel they can play the game and hence spend money. It’s purely a scam. They literally ruined a great franchise in PES to replace it with this BS

As somebody who has suffered from gambling addiction I can’t tell you how difficult it is watching others suffer from it through a game I once loved so so much! This year I stopped playing around January and I’m so glad I did! My mental health improved drastically and I’m only playing atm because of TOTS and my friends are playing too!

Hey Nick, I 100% share your sentiment on this game as it is nothing like the old FIFA’s. I ended up buying FC late this year, about a month ago since it was on sale since one of my friends informed me that you can now upgrade some of your favorite players. I decided to buy it and played the first kickoff game with my older brother. He hasn’t played since FIFA 16 and the first thing he said was that the cuts and players dribbling were clunky and slow, the game seems more unrealistic despite the better graphics, and overall in was just a clunky game. We have been playing FIFA since FIFA 11 and it is really sad to see the state of the game now
I bought EA FC 24 in January. My last fifa before that was Fifa 16, and I can say that I really like EA FC 24, playstyles really made this game fun. I agree on many points Nick said such as AI defence, auto-blocks & all that, but there are 2 main thing that are really questionable:
1. Why EA have added qualifiers to WL? This literally kills the joy of playing this mode, because you are guaranteed to face 20 opponents who beat at least 4 people out of 10 to meet you. Champs is a warzone, really impossible to enjoy most of the time.
2. Pack weight on same OVR cards. Example: I've got 90 Völler like 7 times in my life, and never saw Ramires when he had 90 OVR. People get 94 Alisson 5 times a day right now. Why 94 OVR Alisson appears in packs more then Palmer, Foden, Saliba, Son & etc. players of the same rating?

Jumping to Efootball from Fifa a couple of years back is the best decision I’ve ever done. Every time i come across your videos, it’s a negative video about EA. It says a lot about the state of that game.
Getting great players on Efootball is easier. No need to grind or pay. Plays so much better as well. I’ve never had so much fun on a football game in years. It takes a good while to understand the game and how to build your team, but it’s so worth it.
Look efootball has its issues too. Especially if you speak to PES veterans who find the new game not as polished as the old ones. I’ll say you don’t have to spend a fortune to get decent players. I could rant about the gameplay but I generally just stop when it starts annoying me or I continue to get dodgy connections. EA from the sounds of things has become very predatory in nature when it comes to these packs. I think when it’s a game targeted at younger people then laws should be put in place to protect kids from things like this. As adults we smart enough to realize $50 for a pack is lunacy but for a kid with his parents credit card it’s open season.

I quit playing fifa back in 22 and boy am I glad I did. I kind of started to get addicted to packs during tots and I had to realize that it wasn’t worth it. I still enjoy watching streams and vids but if it wasn’t for the creators, nobody would pay attention to fifa or play fifa at all
I think part of the frustration too is the overflow of mid cards they release that are so easy to pack while making the actual useable promo cards virtually impossible to pack by grinding the game while releasing these store packs that give you a chance to instantly pack them

The problem is promos, the earlier games never had them only toty and tots, maybe a couple more. You would use golds up until tots, now you have a mad team without even playing a game, ea has their entire focus on promo packs cause people want more and more special cards so they use that to empty their bank accounts, promo fifas don't even compare to what this game used to be. For people like me it's easy, don't play and I'm so glad I don't. So much more to life than this crap. I actually feel bad that your job is literally to play this awful game. Exactly I remember when we used to use gold cards the entire year even way back before I really got into fut people used to be playing with bronze and silver cards now you can buy the game play for a week and already have some of the best players basically everyone except the super top tier rare cards

It’s crazy how EA sucks you back in to play after you haven’t played for a while by secretly upping the pack weights. A couple of weeks ago, I hadn’t played for like a month. Then I opened 2x 2x81 packs that I hadn’t opened before and got back to back Golazo 94 Vidic and 92 Lampard. Before that, I hadn’t packed an icon EVER in over 7+ years of playing.
i stopped playing fifa after 17 after i realized they shifted their focus to ultimate team and there was no work done for the main game. stopped playing ultimate team in 15 and only played seasons since then but they focussed all their resources into ultimate team so i stopped buying the new game. i think i was right with my foresight. this game was my childhood i would run back home from school to play this game i loved so much. its all over. same gameplay same glitches same engine year after year but repackaging and selling it as a new game

Nick, it's damn right that you are using your platform to promote this message. It's not just a cash grab, it plants seeds in the minds of young people that gambling is okay. It's not straight up roulette or blackjack or slot machines, but you don't pay your 50 dollars knowing you'll get alisson, estupinan and gold fodder. It is a gamble and it's subtly putting that addictive and reckless personality into kids. They have taken it all too far, the only reason people buy the game every year is because EA promote a huge GAMEPLAY change. People hope and pray that it's good, evo's, player lock, volta, hypermotion, they all end up being underwhelming and forgotten for the most part, and it gets overshone by the new fire vs ice, or thunderstruck or whatever. I remember the days of black friday being one of the biggest promos of the year, winter ratings refresh, then TOTY would come round and people would beg and plead and do chores or whatever just to get their parents to pay for ONE 100k pack, which was the biggest pack in fifa. Coming up against a TOTY, or a gold ronaldo, neymar, messi, even a gold naaingolan in march a few years ago was still a 70/80k card, and back then 70/80k was a difficult ask for one player. Now, new promo team that's out over two weeks, new 500k pack in store every day, it's all gambling, and their average player base will be teenagers. I am a recovering gambler. It ruined my life and I didn't even have influences growing up. I can't imagine how many kids that just love football are gonna end up becoming addicted gamblers because of the greed of EA. It's diabolical and I am so glad someone with a large following is FINALLY calling them out on their bullshit. I just hope you stick to your word nick, and keep promoting this message. People will still watch your content without you ever needing to go into the promo packs section, I hope other creators follow your lead.
And also the influence of streamers like auzio and batteson, doing hundreds of shareplays to open these massive packs, further enticing kids to buy them
The menus is unreal. Been the worst time trying to grind them this year, the amount of restarts and disconnects just in the menu is insane. EA, get it together. Keep preaching Picholas, the community needs it
I don’t like these rant videos because so many people do them for this game this year, but I also think that’s the state of this game. So many people disappointed and all we can do is rant. In Belgium buying fifa points is banned because teen gambling got so bad a lot of games that you can buy currency to gamble with you are unable to buy it.
My theory is that’s why Pro League doesn’t have its own TOTS team anymore
And yes this year no non-top 5 league has it’s own team, but they removed the Pro League as a side team for no reason

What a great video nick. As a old fifa player myself (from fifa 10 till 17) I can relate. I stopped with FUT because there was too much grind to get and keep a decent team. But this casino game that already cost 80 euro new price just to play it. I stepped over to e-football in 2022 just to give it a try. Now, e-football is also not perfect but it is free game. Sure the legends are better but I got now 6 of them for free by just playing the game. Too all fifa players give e-football al try, it is free;) and you don't need PS plus (or Xbox gold) to play it online.

I think ultimate team mode in sports games have hit beyond its peak. They feel like chores, they are riddled with micro transactions for pay to win and are just not worth playing every year. Same repetitive promo cards with crap pack weight.
You mentioned it briefly this video but the champs rewards for TOTS are AWFUL, especially at the top end. I never even got those packs but the tradeable 11 TOTS pack was one of the highlights of TOTS and now it’s removed. Completely ruins any vibe or feeling that it’s TOTS for me

You’re totally correct, I’ve written reviews about this subject everywhere where this game is sold. I wrote to EA directly saying this years ago but there’s no point since the support people are not working at EA.
I played this game since 2002 and this game isn’t fun anymore, the worst thing is that I’ve tried putting down the controller but since FIFA is the only game I’ve been playing during the last 10 years this game is the only thing I’m good at, it’s really sad because it feels like I’ve wasted my best years of life playing this bs.
For me the best Fifa was Fifa 11. In that you actually build a team of 86's and they still played great. Gameplay was so smooth as well nothing like this we have today. When they started doing untradable packs you know it was over.
@@QuantumGamingUploads Back in FIFA 11 and 12 there was silver cards that was as good as the best golds, some silvers as well as some really low rated golds ware insane, I remember using Agbonlahor he was amazing, since there was barely any promo cards, only team of the weeks the best team you could have was a gold team mixed with silvers, if you ware really lucky you might have an inform but they ware really rare.
For example you can get 89 Rodri 100x time but you will never get 89 Vini …like what the hell EA they’re the same rating

Its a crazy addiction. I started with Fifa 09 when FUT was first introduced and got addicted to it and took me a few years to slow down and finally kick that habit.

Ive never been in a higher rivals divison but its just not fun at all . I dont know if other suffer this but theres times where my team feels amazing . Fast , brilliant passing , fowards where the should be just playing normal and then theres times where my teams feels like its in the mud. Players cant make a pass to save themselves , losing the ball constantly , delay in passing , fowards missing hitting the net from two foot. Its just garabage . Best thing people can do is to stay away from store packs . Dont buy them . Spam the exchange and player pick to get cards there in them. Dont give ea any more money they dont deserve it
I agree totally I'm 44 years old and played all Fifa games of the past! That's why I decided last year that Fifa 23 will be my last Fifa game. I made sure that I build the best UT without spending a penny last year and play Fifa 23 casually with buffed up team till now. But wont be spending any money on another EA game. They just trying to rip off kids who will spend real money to keep up with the curve. It's sad.

It's just so sad we get all this 'content' in the store. Like they can be creative with the store but not with the SBC's. We could have gotten a SBC with a pack that contains 5 players of 88+ from the latest promo's. That's something that would make the content so much more unique and especially hype. However we get the crazy packs in the store with a crazy amount of FC Points. And there are people really spending it every week on this game. EA will only go more and more in this sad direction. And it just sucks...
I added how much I spent on fifa points since FUT 14, £6,500. Along with 6,500 hours gameplay. What other game costs £1 per hour to play.. Not spent a penny on packs for the past year now

The biggest problem for me is this years drop rate of quality promo players. I don't spend any money, but play fairly consitently. I started playing before toty and haven't pulled a single higher tier promo player since then. All SBC players team 🤷🏽♂️

I’ve been a cod grinder the last 4ish years. This was my first year really getting into FUT since 2015. I use fc24 as the “chill” gameplay but definitely have to handicap myself. Never go past div 4, quit at first sign of toxic players, quit if you see mbappe, ya know the usual

It's painful to see a beautiful game that most of us grew up playing with has turned into this. The gameplay alone is so heavy that you can't even properly move players to attack or defend. And don't let me even get started on the forceful inclusion of the female players.

I heard sad stories like this one who a kid from a single mom who struggles to get food on the table grabbed her wallet while she sleeping and he spent $800UD on credit card.
yeah, I saw a TH-cam short of a kid celebrating he got like 4 TOTS in a 1 pack but he spend like 3.500 FC points and 1: They were all untradable 2: Only one of those players maybe was worth the spend. Besides, in a month It's all gonna be gone. People have fish memory. Remember last year? Futties was crazy, I made the best team possible on a 3 month old account without spending money. All this TOTS are worth something now, but in a month EA are gonna have to keep releasing better cards, more packs and give people reasons to just log on because the gamaplay is shit. I can't even chill while playing Squad Battles because I can feel the mechanics being broken, it's stressful. I hate VD and still it's my main CB because of his animations. There's docens and docens of players with better stats in every possible way, but VD is special because of course in real life he might be the best CB but you don't have to make him so good that it breaks the game. Also, It's been 10 days since TOTS started and I've packed more than 10 TOTS. All discard, there's no more fun.

Only solution is what happened here in Belgium. Fifa points and packs are qualified as gambling by the gambling commission. EA needed to prove that they do not sell to minors, which they could not, so they excluded the possibility to buy FIFA points here. Yes, I can only play as an RTG, but it's the only way not to lure minors into hardcore gambling (yes, you can probably avoid by changing PS5 settings or buy upfront online, I don't know, but at least there is a minimum of protection against this Pay to play )
Nick is one of the only fifa TH-camrs that don't glaze ea like those ea "gamechangers" whose job is to inform ea of any problems but I swear they don't do or say anything since they wanna stay employed by them which results in minimal criticism
I only spend coins I have saved up on packs for tots as I can actually get good things and get coins back so easily but now they are scams and I want a pack with 250 players like last year which was so worth it

I quit it FIFA after the TOTY scam ! When I opened over 400 packs at a lower chance of getting TOTY due to EA taking down the odds. So I quit the game

Im 29 and have played fifa religiously since 11. Trust me if you are still playing ultimate team stop! Just play pro clubs it’s so much more enjoyable and not pay to win
