What rubbish, just look at London, Bradford, Rotherham, Luton, Bristol etc etc. 10 "Foreign" mayors of our cities, in ALL these cities there are "no-go areas" and some "sharia law" is used and the police turn a blind eye, because they do not want to be called racist by the likes of do-gooders, the pc brigade, leftie tree-huggers and "bubble" livers. All these are really clueless to what is happening in the real world. They really need to get out and about to where the real people live. She was trying to make a point about how JC possibly doesn't diverge from social norms to the degree that he is portrayed. JRM then seemed to save her argument by pointing out that JC has worked in parliament for 30 years (whether this is a good or bad argument is debatable. JRM is then happy because he now has an angle on the dialogue that allows him to promote his ideology. If it's assumed that all politicians have a base-level of "bad", then he has a case for arguing that the conservatives are preferable). I agreed/disagreed with both the interviewer and JRM throughout this vid, but at that point, I thought JRM dealt with the questions very well.
      The exchange...
JRM - "You would serve under him though? You're not one of those who wouldn't serve under him?"
Interviewer - "No, I would serve under him."
      ...sounds so weird though.

I was born on a rough council estate. I was able to go to a public school for nothing because of the Direct Grant system: I and my best schoolfriend, Ian Bell (co-creator of the computer game _Elite;_ shameless name-drop) were the last two scholarship boys to get into the school on scholastic ability only, because Labour cancelled the Direct Grant system that allowed working-class boys like me to get an excellent education and, above all, self-confidence and self-awareness.
We were never, ever, _ever_ taught to disparage anyone because of their race, creed, colour, political persuasion and so on. It was perfectly OK to beat someone up because he fell over when running between the wickets and robbing the popular Captain of the First XI of his third half-century of the term. I know that from personal experience, but it and my lowly upbringing didn't prevent me from later becoming Captain of the First XI and scoring two centuries and six fifties against our common enemy, Haberdashers' Aske's (another public school in the same county of Hertfordshire). I love cricket to this day.
In fact, my school hammered into us that we were incredibly privileged: not in the current context that we should be ashamed of it, but that we should be ashamed if we didn't exercise that privilege to the full and be utterly grateful for it every day. And I am (sorry, Sir; I know I shouldn't have started a sentence with a conjunction), every day.
I was given a great chance, and I took it. I now live in a nice house in a small, quiet village, also in Hertfordshire, and I have a great job with good pay. Not because I stole it from someone else, or through hating someone for something that is irrelevant to me, or through flashing the old school tie (St Albans School isn't Eton, Harrow or Winchester; nobody would even recognise the school tie), or ever mentioning that I went to a public school; no, my school gave me an even greater privilege.
It challenged me. It made me look at myself and criticise myself and search my motivations, my fears, my hatreds, my weaknesses and swear to myself not to become their slave. And to take charge with what is good and fair and just and honest. And I have tried to do that ever since. I do well at job interviews because I am relaxed and open about myself and my experiences: no employer is ever going to find some dark cranny of my soul that I haven't searched out for myself years ago and expunged.
I don't hate people: I hate narrow-minded philosophies that look to indoctrinate the young and keep them scared and ignorant into adulthood rather than teaching them a sense of self-worth and self-reliance. I hate shallow platitudes that are used as substitutes for reasoned argument. I hate the idea of people being told that they are what they are and can never be anything else because other people are stopping them.
And I, a man born on a rough council estate, feel far, _far_ more in common with Jacob Rees-Mogg, MP than I do with Jess Phillips, MP.

Obey I agree seemed to me he was not only speeding but didn’t stop at junctions. But as JRM is a very law abiding man it may just have been the camera angle. LOL I do think he’s a real scream never gets flustered always beats the others in a debate, love watching him.

Philips is the scion of what can only be described as _"nouveau middle class"_ parents. Both belong to a demographic that was created _entirely_ by the post-war socialist policies of UK administrations - they carved out lucrative careers in the public sector, which provided Jess with a very comfortably-off childhood, thank you very much. And what do you know? The singularly unremarkable Jess studied 'Public Sector Financial Management' at university. She is, quite literally, a _born and bred, career socialist_ who is defending _her_ position at the trough of public largesse under the self-serving pretense of concern for the "right" of the "disadvantaged" and "oppressed" to the same.

Why has jess just said she didn’t think the kids on her council estates would grow up to be astrophysicists? I grew up in a Council house and graduated with a degree in Chemistry, science was my childhood passion. She’s supposed to be supporting kids like me rather than tearing them down.

At the time this was made I probably had not hear of JRM. Now I think he is an absolutely brilliant politician who would make a great PM.
Until I watched this I had never heard of Jess Phillips. I have not lived in the UK for quite a number of years. Unlike many who have commented, I think she came across very well. Perhaps some of the commentators were brought up to hate left wingers and still do. She is a Labour MP, you cannot expect her to embrace Tory views.

Rees-Mogg is charming and intelligent,, in contrast to Phillips. Who would you want as your representative?

+Paul2377 no he's not. Just because he's from a privileged background does not make him out of touch. You're a typical sheep who fails to do their research and categorises Tories on their background as they have no valid arguments against them. Just watch some videos of JRM and you'll see how intelligent he is and how logical his arguments are. Labour love to bear the flag of equality for all, irregardless of background, yet they have unwarranted hatred for those such as JRM simply because of who they are.

And pray tell give us the amazing info on Mogg being a, "Bellend." Is it his posh voice, classic British personality, being a Tory or maybe you hate his stance on Brexit. However, I've definitely seen him being more amazing: defying idiotic Antifa protestors, speaking his mind, vast signes of intellect, being able to make a multi-million company (without a small loan of $1 million), vast knowledge in what he debates, doesn't back down in his stance (even if it is unpopular), he's a politician with a positive approval rating which is almost unheard of in the U.K. and whether your a pro or anti E.U. he definitely has done his homework on as many aspects as possible.
I definitely don't have floccinaucinihilipilification towards Jacob Rees-Mogg
