When pear trees are still in flower, an arborist ties a bottle to the branch with the pollinated flower inside, and lets nature do its thing. Incidentally, my local liquor store offers Massenez poire with the fruit in the bottle at $67 USD per.
Yes, that's it! The process is so cool. I've never bought one from a store (ours is homemade), but it sounds like they're a reasonable price for how cool they are haha 😛
