I've said this countless times about Shinedown; they are one of the most underrated bands in the past 20 years to come on the scene, and honestly the best hard rock band to actually reach the mainstream in the past 20 years. They are such a solid band, and in my opinion, Brent Smith has become one of the best vocalists in rock music history (Yes, I dared to say that). He's versatile, and when he sings at different octaves, he does it flawlessly. And now, we hear an improvement in his more aggressive vocal delivery. Now, not to forsake the rest of the band. . .The percussion and bass are great, and Myers' guitar work spot on. The production on this is awesome too. The slight electronic touch on the riffing is perfect for the song, and the BRIDGE is incredibly catchy. I LOVE THIS SONG. It gets better each time I hear it. Can't wait for the new album!
I do so love this band. They have something to say. These boys get it. The world and it's crap. And their music is exceptional. I'm 69 years and counting. I've seen Zeppelin, Yes, Deep Purple and many more. And these boys stand toe to toe with the greats. Thanks for doing what you do boys.
Brent's concern with humanity forgetting what it means to be human is real and I appreciate his enthusiasm to get people to interact and not forget our humanity. I've started talking to people more often, especially the people who don't look like they're having a good time, we're all human, and we should take care of each other like it.

I’d never seen that with a support act before. Nearly 3 years on, and my whole family still loves them.
Well he's gonna be in for a nasty shock when the music industry he loves is eventually exposed to be a den of pedos, cannibals and devil worshippers. What's he gonna do then? I love Brent, but he can be dangerously naive when it comes to certain matters, like giving society and ppl in general way too much credit.

They might have been naive to it all… but it probably comes with the territory of staying in a bubble that involves touring constantly and/or recording. They are seriously reaching souls and doing what good musicians should do. That said… they just recently dropped Planet Zero. I don’t think they are as naive as you previously thought. Go Shinedown.

I love this album and the new sound is so unique for Shinedown. The solos and riffs are my favorite parts of this album when it comes to guitar, the whole album to me sounds like a man who's trying to break away from our modern day. Just a theory

The album seems to have a few songs that seem to make jabs at people that think they're better than someone else, but said jabs end up putting the character of the song if not the songwriter on a higher pedestal. The whole thing seems hypocritical with the songs themselves and the outside handling of the music eg: Twitter hashtags for "Get Up". The main criticism I'm reading on the album were people upset they strayed too far from their raw, hard rock sound. Too much editing. Criticism was met with the typical "bands change and grow" sure but for some reason it's convenient they change and grow towards more mainstream sounds. I highly doubt I'll ever hear a bluegrass or jazz Shinedown album in my life.
What I love about these guys is that every album has a different sound and yet you know its them and they have something to say. I also love that I have not heard one single bad thing about them. great band
People need to realize, some people get wiser and change as they get older. Nothing wrong with change or growth. Don't like what you hear, don't listen. Shinedown never fails to deliver something different on each album, and still retain "their" sound. Love it, and will be buying the CD. Yes, I said CD if it's offered. Just want to make sure I've got a clean digital copy first to upload to my iPod.

I think the statement “I got a handful of friends that can’t be bought, if you tell ‘me you’re the king, you’re probably not.” Is so powerful, definitely my favorite line from a shinedown song.
I'm so excited to listen to the entire album. First, Devil and now this, it's amazing. Among all the big guns like FFDP, BFMV, BVB or Breaking Benjamin, Shinedown have absolutely came up with an amazing stuff. Shinedown Rocks.
True story and I’ll never forget it for the rest of my life. My brother and I were working at an aviation company resurfacing helicopter blades and every day at lunch we would go a few miles away to Target to check out the music and media section..when they actually had cd’s for sale. This was June of 2003. As we walked around looking, off in the distance they had a TV set up playing music videos. Some band called Breaking Benjamin was on and I stopped for a few seconds and kept walking. All of sudden the song ended and there was maybe 45 seconds of silence and then I heard something that instantly caught my ear. As I walked back to the tv there he was..this menacing figure who looked somewhat evil, but his voice was magical..I was blown away..I stood there in awe of what I just heard and had to hear it immediately again. I ran over to the cd section and frantically looked for it..and there it was...Shinedown’s debut cd with that song 45 right in the middle of the track list. Without hesitation I made my way to the cashier and bought it. My brother, who also lives for music and has a great ear for talent said to me, are you sure about this? I was absolutely positive. We got in my car and put the cd in and from start to finish I was mesmerized and captivated by Brent’s voice and the incredible lyrics and music I was hearing. I’m 53 years old and have been listening to music my whole life, mostly rock..I’ve been a huge fan and follower of Shinedown since that day..and so is brother. I’m inspired by them and hope they continue on their journey. There new cd Attention Attention is a master piece in my opinion. I wanted to share this story because for one I never have and also because if you’ve never heard them or are on the fence, you need to let your guard down and listen to all the wonderful songs they’ve created over the last 15 years. I’ll be a fan forever and I want to thank them for making me feel alive.
Even if I don't like the sound of all of their songs, I appreciate their lyrics so much! They have so much meaning, and I love how they can speak to all of us. Music truly does so much for us.
To anyone disliking the sound of this track, remember that it's the 2nd to last track on the album. The album is a concept album starting off dark and ending light. If this is one of the "lighter" tracks, I think we're in for a dark and heavy album

We got in my car and put the cd in and from start to finish I was mesmerized and captivated by Brent’s voice and the incredible lyrics and music I was hearing. I’m 53 years old and have been listening to music my whole life, mostly rock..I’ve been a huge fan and follower of Shinedown since that day..and so is brother. I’m inspired by them and hope they continue on their journey. There new cd Attention Attention is a master piece in my opinion. I wanted to share this story because for one I never have and also because if you’ve never heard them or are on the fence, you need to let your guard down and listen to all the wonderful songs they’ve created over the last 15 years. I’ll be a fan forever and I want to thank them for making me feel alive.

To anyone disliking the sound of this track, remember that it's the 2nd to last track on the album. The album is a concept album starting off dark and ending light. If this is one of the "lighter" tracks, I think we're in for a dark and heavy album
