In this episode, we are going from Dushanbe to Kalaikhum, through the Afganistan border along the Panz river. Tajikistan and Afghanistan share a long common border line, and the Pamir highway passes near the border. We spend half a day at the stone's throwaway distance from the Afghan border. It was an ecstatic moment for us!
Dushanbe to Kalaikhumb is a 370 KM long route, via the "southern road". There is another "Northern road" as well. The southern road goes through the Afghan border and quite smooth. You pass through the Nurek dam reservoir, hulbuk ortress and Kulob city.
