One of the key features of the RS4 for me is the Teflon coating. The one thing so frustrating about balancing gimbals is the stickiness of the material making it hard to slide the difference axis into position when making adjustments. If I were to get a gimbal again, it would probably be the RS4. Thanks for another excellent review.
Thanks for the video! Finally, I saw an ADEQUATE!!! comparison in stabilization, finally at least someone guessed to take two gimbals in two hands and take off the same thing at once, where it is now clearly visible how stabilization works for different models. I REALLY HOPE 🙏 that you will do the same in comparison with RS3 and RS4, so that it is clear, is there at least some difference in stabilization???! With the output of RS 3, DJI announced an improvement in stabilization by 20% (of course, there is no way to check this). With the release of RS 4, DJI announced only that the algorithms of the 4th version are now working there 🧐
I recently bought the RS4, and just did a video gig tonight and found something you should probably check. The little locking lever was loose even when in the lock position for the tilt axis. Which, inevitably made the gimbal, go out of balance, because it was sliding out of place and kept shutting off, because it was so out of balance. I thought something was wrong with my gimbal. However, it just needed to be tightened up with a little star screw. If you are a professional, I would recommend checking all of these when you buy it.
@@MarkBennettCameraCrisis Update! I tried to screw it down to tighten the roll axis locking lever and it wouldn’t work 😒. DJI recommended sending it in so I just returned it. Bummer and I hope it’s a one off too! Thank you for commenting back.
Had the rs3 but bought the mini a while back and my a7iv and sigma 24-70 have been on it ever since with zero problems. Such a good gimbal and unless your running bigger lenses, get the mini

rs4 definitely looks smoother on the "walking loosely" test. hmm... thoughts on this? Why? Is the algorithm that much better on the rs4? Is it because of the added weight = stability? Or lastly, could it be settings? My rs2 Pro looks a lot like the rs3 mini footage- lots of little movements and stuff, no matter how I change the settings.

Thanks for the video. Got my RS4 yesterday and I love it and a real upgrade for me. After a year, I had a few things that I didn't like so much. I really dont get any of your reasoning about "paid" and "not paid" work. I believe 9 out of 10 paid users dont need the extra features of the RS4 (I mean REALLY need). A friend of mine told me that he wouldn't feel comfortable showing up at a wedding with the mini because he wouldn't look as professional. I think 99% of the people won't tell the difference if they dont see both side by side. I own an RS3 mini, and I love the size and weight benefits. (Money is not an issue at all. Both are minor expenses compared to Canon RF lenses, etc, I have been investing in for the past 2 years.)
I’ve got both gimbals and have used them for paid work, and I can 100% say the extra features make a big difference. The self-locking axes are a total game changer, especially for run-and-gun projects. The higher payload capacity is a nice bonus too, plus having physical buttons to switch modes is super handy. Obviously, everyone’s needs and preferences are different, but the RS4’s quick switch between horizontal and vertical is a huge upgrade.
They need to add Iso and aperture functions control via bluetooth too, thats the only thing missing for me that would make the RS4 perfect, oh and i needed to be 200-300g lighter too not heavier then the last one
