No they dont. Most of their inheritance was wasted on legal fees; also they couldnt inhert money from their parents property because they killed them (its a law in California). Even if they didnt kill their parents, or were proven as innocent, they wouldnt have gotten money because their father didnt set it up correctly.
This is such a great reading. I am really on the fence about this case. If I was a juror, I would always ask WHY didn't these two adult men LEAVE? If they were abused, WHY didn't they ever confide in their shrink? Do I think they were abused? If they can prove it...sure but does that give anybody the right to kill another? I mean they were shot so many times that they were rendered unrecognizable? I guess what I am saying is that abuse is not a get out of jail card BUT it perhaps (according to the laws in the state) can change the length of their sentence IF they can absolutely prove there was abuse. Even if someone else comes forward with abuse allegations against the father....that won't prove there was abuse in his own home. I do agree with you that they unalived their parents because of anger and money. When they went on that outrageous spending spree after the deaths.....that wouldn't sit well with me as a juror. Guess we will have to see what evidence comes forward. It wouldn't surprise me if they do get their sentence reduced at some point (could be years of decades), So appreciate you reading on this. Exactly my thoughts. The abuse and tyranny, yes must have been awful, but you can't kill. In fact, why not get a job at Burger King and your own Apartment? Your own life apart from your parents. Bec they were lazy and wanted the good life. Were they shivering in the corner after they did what they did? Nope, they were out buying cars and boats and partying. Yes, they were prob damaged by their upbringing, but they were grown and had many other options to escape it all. Many are also damaged with no options.
They did try to leave so many times but also you gotta think if it as if you was a child. They were raised to feel like they couldnt live without their parents, and honestly they didnt have nothing without them. There was a lot of fear that they felt and while they shouldn't have killed their parents what they did was reasonable and they have served their time.
