One Hour Wargames - English Civil War 1643 Campaign Game 1

An excellent English Civil War campaign as Royalist forces look to get their guns north to support a siege in Lancashire. In their way are Parliament forces who would like to take the guns for their uses. This campaign is over three battles - using 12 units in total. The first action sees the advancing cavalry clash to gain the upper hand.

Long live the King! This video shows the massive importance of a good scenario when judging whether rules are worth trying or not - predictably much more interesting than the earlier meeting engagement. Very nice collection on the table - and nice straightforward video production. Well done.

Great game and such simple rules but still capture the essence of the period, for a campaign game during the battle one player may decide to concede before taking any more casaulties, therefore does his opponent allow him to withdraw and I assume any unit elimited during a battle is also removed from the campaign, and units suffering hits carry those forward into thier next battle

Thanks for the feedback the way I’m playing it is not too hard on rules so units return fresh (they could have been replaced). I’m really just creating 3 games on the same table without too much book keeping so effectively the Royalists return with a one unit advantage whilst be slightly disadvantaged in the situation of their objective. Game 2 is set up and ready to go.
