Hi Mark, I have done lots of these over the years, I’m getting flashbacks from some of them after watching this 😂.
Another great job completed, I know they can be extremely fiddly especially working on your own.
It’s hard to believe how dirty they can get, even if you try your best to keep them clean.
A great film thank you, take care, regards Chris. 👍👍👍

Thanks for that, Mark. Just goes to show how replacing one or two elements can make the whole room look like new. For someone who doesn’t like fitting shower screens, you certainly make a good job of it … probably so you don’t have to come back and fit the bugger twice!

Hi Mark. Once it's all marked up and drilled, don't screw the profiles to the wall. slide them onto the enclosure, lift the whole thing into place then secure to the wall. Works for me!!

I had thexdreaded shower door will channels that we silicone to the tile , no screws.
Needles to say the tiles came away from the wall. I ended up having to board the 3 internal walls of the cubicle.
Luckily I had understanding customers! Message to anyone new to installing showers,
Do NOT stick channels to wall just seal the outside!

    • @user-gr8zv3ji6d

They've obviously siliconed the tray after fitting wall channels. It's fatal not to go right to the edge of the tray first( the day before!)

    • @paullbennett2923
      @paullbennett2923 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

Best to read and understand the instructions. They will tell you where and where not to seal. Silicone in the wrong place will destroy your screen in no time.
As a general rule you just seal around the outside edge. Sealing underneath the frame will stop any water in the side profiles from running back into the tray.

I'm a big fan of this stuff. Used it between battens to thicken and insulate on the inside of a solid walled house.
Top tip, get decent scissors! Look for the medical scissors (available online from most places). Paramedics use them as yhey are designed to cut through fabric and thin metal, ideal for the job.

Nice content mate, been a while since I last commented! Cheese wire ordered, got a tray to remove next week! With quadrants I tend to leave them screwed in and recip saw the middle rail out then take it out in two separate pieces. Quick question is this an old job? I can’t get the no nonsense stuff my way anymore, they’ve replaced it wit fortress which is another carpet protector that doesn’t stick to carpet!

2:25 got the same type of screen. Hate it. Bastard to clean, the profile you removed here isn’t fitted and whoever installed it siliconed both the outside and inside where it meets the tray so it’s a mess.
Edit: they had the same screen again 🤦🏻‍♂️ I was thinking the tray was coming out to switch for rectangular.

    • @MJTiffPlumbing
