    Thank you for this video. I ordered the CZ 457 MTR yesterday. The final decision was easy for me after your information. Best price to performance.

      Josh, I 100% agree with your assessment of the CZ and I like my CZ455 . HOWEVER I bought an Anschutz 1710 Sporter and a 1761 thumbhole and shooting both rifles out of the box with S/K Long range (not lot tested) both rifles shot 2.52 and 2.89 at 100yds. (5 shot groups) 😳 I was pretty surprised too 😂😂 I was stocked for months.
      I have watched about all of your videos and you do an excellent presentation every video ps ( YOU ARE THE MAN ).👍🏻No one does a better video than your videos.
      The first time I shot S/K Long Range ammo ie( Fist 5 shots at 200yds.with my MPR64 with a Weaver 36 power target scope 4 holes in in less than 2”’s and got excited and the last shot opened my group to 31/4’s Better than any of my Eley match ammo . I am 77 yrs old 😉

    THANKS FOR THIS REVIEW!! I'VE HEARD OTHER PEOPLE WHO HAVE A "CZ 457" RIFLE,... AND THEY ALL SPEAK HIGHLY OF THEM...
    I'D LIKE TO SEE SOME AMMO MGF DEVELOP SEVERAL VARIANTS BASED ON THE .22MAGNUM SUCH AS " 22 MAGNUM SUBSONICS (FOR SUPPRESSED FIRE),... THEN, SOME HIGH "BC" ULTRA-LONG-RANGE, HEAVY, POINTED BULLETS....

    I have an old BRNO mod 2 , which was what the CZ was born from . It is a real tack driver for something that looks like a miniature African plains gun . The model 1 was the gun that started it all and was designed by Paul Mauser . They became legendary in the professional rabbit shooting circles here in Australia . It takes hundreds of thousands of rounds to shoot one out .

    Cz has great value in all their firearms. The higher levels it really comes out. Great shooting and ergonomics. My two favorite guns are cz’s… 455 varmint in .22lr and a TSO in 9mm. Both leave me wanting more… more ammo of course.

    I've had my CZ MTR for 3 years and entirely agree with what you've had to say here. All of the CZ rimfire rifles that I currently own and use are 457s and they all shoot very well.
    I am looking at getting CZ's 24 in. barrel w/o sights to install on my Royal and see how that works out, although the threaded 20 in. that comes on it shoots quite well.

    I wanted one of those for many years. On a knowledgeable friends advice I bought a Savage FV--SR on sale for $190. It is a MOA .22 with several brands of ammunition. My first group--while doing initial zero saw three rounds go into a .25 hole (25 yards). I have friends with various .22s--most of them high dollar. None of them will shoot tighter groups than my budget Savage.

    I went with the CZ 457 ProVarmint Suppressor-Ready rifle. It's just a little bit lower in price which allows for more budget room to spend on optics. If shooting NRL22 competition base class you will be limited to a $1,200 MSRP price for the rifle and scope combo. I also love the fact that I can add a suppressor to it. It's a great rifle at a very affordable price and performs very well in regards to accuracy. I will say that largest disappointment came when ordering the 20 MOA Dovetail to Picatinny mount from Area 419. It was way too tight and I had to send it back to get a new one. I then had to bang in the replacement mount and was left with some metal shavings. It's a poor design if you need to use a hammer to get a good fit and some of the metal is sheered off.

    Not really fair there Josh showing the groupings you were showing with insinuating it was a $700 rifle and only quite a bit later in the video revealing that rifle had a lilja barrel which that alone would make that closer to an $1150-$1200 rifle that had been modified.
    Also from my understanding it has been months since the Varmint MTR has been available to purchase and I have heard no set information on when any could be expected to again be on the shelves.
    Again no matter how good of a $700 rifle it is out of the box if it is not available to purchase where is the value in that for the customer looking to buy a rifle?
    And buying a different model CZ and putting on the lilja barrel well they are out of stock as well.
    The above was part of the reasoning to go with a Bergara rather than a CZ on this go round.
    Do not get me wrong, I like CZ's and have owned a few and was really between one of them and a Bergara as I get back into this hobby following some years away due to health issues but actually went with a Bergara b14r this go round.
    But be honest here this 457 as you are shooting it IS NOT a stock $700 gun and as it sets would cost more than the Bergara b14r out of the box .
    I like your videos but lets keep things to what they actually are.
    Forums are full of guys watching videos and seeing pictures of CZ's shooting one hole groups making it sound like this is common with all CZ's and then being disappointed when their out of the box factory production example they went and bought does not do the same!

      The 457 mtr is available. Its often sold out but literally 3 days ago xring channel bought one and did a video on it.
      The original mtr barrel is on loan to another youtuber for testing but if you look back at my videos ive done lots of shooting and videos with the mtr barrel.
      I tried to be very up front and clear it wasnt as it came from the factory. IMO that itls what makes it so great! You can easily buy barrels, triggers, trigger springs, stocks, chassis, etc etc etc and still come out under what a vudoo etc would have.
      There is no lack of bone stock mtr content on youtube, my channel included. Why not show off something different than everyone else?

    Great video, thanks. I would love the CZ 457 MTR but I am left-handed. So my thoughts are to get the 457 ProVarmint Suppressor-Ready. It has a cheek riser and two swivel studs in the front, but with a laminate stock, not the beautiful Turkish Walnut. But I can swap out the barrel for a Lilja when I am ready like you did. Or go with the 457 Varmint with the Walnut stock and swap the barrel. Lastly, buy the MTR and swap the stock out (sounds criminal I know). In another video you mentioned that every CZ comes with the same trigger and action, so it's either swap the barrel or stock.

    First, thank you for the interesting/informative/smooth-presentation. Would you please enlighten me as to why the rifle used in this video is referred to as a "CZ" product when the barrel has been retrofitted. In most of the "highly-rated-CZ" videos that you publish, the "CZ" is in fact NOT a "CZ", but rather a custom-built unit (barrel, etc.). When comparing a CZ to another brand (e.g., Ruger, Savage, etc.), would it not be an accurate presentation if the Ruger/Savage/etc. was also retrofitted (or the CZ factory barrel used)?

I want to put my action into a chassis and don't like the base class scopes available. I know that ammo choice makes a lot of difference and I can't afford $25 a box of 50. • @PursuitofAccuracy
      @PursuitofAccuracy  ปีที่แล้ว

      For typical matches a factory barrel is fine. In reality for nrl or prs you need an moa rifle. Of course better may save you on a bad shot but were talking very low % here.
      Best advice is spend as little as you can on intermediary steps up in equipment and use that money to buy ammo to practice with.
      You will know when the equipment is holding you back.

    I have a CZ457 MTR 419 30 moa rail, Arkin glass.,
    I know from Watching all your videos that your well versed in the 457. Mine shoots very good but not up to my expectations, (maybe to high) . I can shoot an egg at 325 yards with Federal auto match, most of the time with one ten round mag. So, it's not a horrible shooting gun with cheap bulk ammo. But my question is the bolt is really sloppy in the receiver, have you seen this? I have had hands on with the CZ 457 Jag, Lux and others, only the Jag was worst. How much does this in your opinion affect accuracy?

      @gamergeek8933 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@PursuitofAccuracy I know and I get that. And for you the CZ is probably the best gun. The CZ is definitely a better gun but in another comment you said MOA is enough for shooting competition in base class. You can pick up a savage mark 2 fv for just over $200 and people are shooting sub MOA on that. I have heard of people shooting base class with that gun. I have also heard of people shooting ruger Americans and getting similar results with similarly priced guns. When talking about “for the money” those guns definitely ring in on the value end. They won’t outshoot the CZ but they can get the job done. There is a channel (Copper something) shooting NRL22 with a ruger prr or whatever. That will run a bit more than the American but he does well. And SocialRegressive has a savage b22 that he has also shot in some matches. His is the fvsr which comes in just under $400 msrp I think. This comment is too long and a ramble sorry. I wasn’t meaning to criticize your choice just pointing out that cheaper guns can be had.
