    I was told by my cousin who moved up there a couple years ago that there is in Lounge area that you can get some rest at instead of paying 250 a night for a cabin is that true or not and does anyone know about what it cost to have a truck 2017 Dodge Ram 1500 5.7 Hemi and trailer total of 25 foot one person driving

      Yes, you can do that. It's likely sleeping in the airport (which I've done many times), but if you're trying to save money that's a way to do it. Also, depending on the weather, you can sleep on the deck.

    Significant reduction in price if scheduled early. How about an example?

      Call the Alaska Marine Highway System. It's a sliding scale. I'm trying to interview one of their reps for my podcast and that's one example I'm going to discuss with him.

    COVID has certainly changed some things. I'm told we cannot disembark on each stop and there will be no operating mess halls.
    Can you confirm?
    Maybe your next one can talk about the room options and vehicle reservations.

    • @alaska_realtor
      @alaska_realtor  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      At some places, the smaller villages, you won't be able to disembark. It's really a moving target right now, though, so that might change in the near future. It would not surprise me if they didn't have the mess halls open right now. I guess that's the temporary situation we have. Thank you for the topic suggestion!

    How many times a day are we allowed to go check on are pet? Do we have to provide are own water for the pet?

    • @alaska_realtor
      @alaska_realtor  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I believe it was 2-3 times a day and I would plan to bring your own water

      @@alaska_realtor thank you. Is there any restrictions on what’s inside your car. Like extra baggage? And if I have a room with a private room with 2 bunks it’s all mines, I would be sharing the sleep quarters right?

    • @alaska_realtor
      @alaska_realtor  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@andrewirvin7725 There might be as far as firearms goes, but I would just check into that. As for the cabin, no if you pay for it, it's all yours. Get a bunk mate if you want it and try to split it if you'd like or just enjoy the room to yourself.

    Im flying up there

    • @alaska_realtor
      @alaska_realtor  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Nothing wrong with that! It gets a little bumpy landing in Anchorage but it's certainly the most direct option.

  • @crispincoleman
    @crispincoleman 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Silly question, so when using the ferry to move there, do they let you pull your moving truck and trailer on there is this just like a person type transport similar to what flying would be?

    • @alaska_realtor
      @alaska_realtor  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      You pull your car/trailer into the lower deck of the ship and then go to the above decks. Does that answer your question?

    • @crispincoleman
      @crispincoleman 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@alaska_realtor yes it does. Thank you.

    *** AS OF 4/1/2023 the furthest north the ferry will go due to under staffing issues, is from Bellingham is to Haines, This is no good because you still have to drive through Canada to get to Anchorage, basically making the ferry system for most of us just useless. A huge part of the ferry system is to avoid having to get a passport and deal with all the customs bs and having to ship firearms, ect and all the driving.....

    Now that legislature voted to increase the prices the one way trip is either equal or beyond an all inclusive cruise with really nice room's and amenities, would you agree? Does a ship go to homer? Was curious about making it to there one day in order to get a charter boat from there to kodiak to hunt and fish? Or is there a better option? Or maybe just see if a ferry would go all the way to kodiak?

    • @alaska_realtor
      @alaska_realtor  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I'd just fly to Kodiak and get a charter there. Seems a lot easier though I can't say from experience.
