I've been using the pro pod since December 2023 and have been really happy with it. Initially the colder (ish) weather of winter in GA was good enough to plunge first thing in the AM but as the weather got warmer it was harder to keep cold. I purchased the hardcore bundle with the pro chiller in April mostly for the chiller, filters and the ultra insulated cover set - had some issues with the pro chiller, went through a couple of them (support was pretty good) and ultimately changed it out for the standard chiller which has worked great. At this point I've been using the pro pod outside in GA with the ultra insulated cover set and a standard chiller since about May and I keep the temp at 40 degrees and plunge every day - I add 1 cup of 3% H2O2 weekly and change the filter monthly and the water can last months before needing to be changed. I give it two thumbs up!

The hose you were asking about is the drain hose. It slips over the bottom ball valve, extends, and allows you to direct the water away.

This is how I started plunging myself. It's nice to take along if you travel. I've recently upgraded to the ice barrel 300 with an active aqua chiller by your recommendation. I'm glad I purchased this. Thanks

I’m looking to make my first cold plunge purchase and still not sure what to get. Have you had any issues with the active aqua chiller?

@@thomasharrington8113 no problems with mine at all. It keeps the water at the temperature I set it. It even worked well when I had it hooked up to my portable ice tub.

I currently have the Ice Pod Pro 2. How does the size of the ice pod pro 2 compare to the ice barrel 300? Does the interior give you a similar fit when you are in it? Thanks in advance!

I’m going to go on and get the hardcore pro pod setup with chiller. I just started regularly plunging in June so a great way to start!
Thank you for doing this video!

I started with the Icepod pro and buying bags of ice. My thought was, "If you actually do this damn thing every day for a few months, then you can think about getting a more expensive setup." Worked great for that. And, I did graduate to a PolarPit inflatable (sadly the company is now gone). I will say that The Pod Company stands by their products. Mine got a hole in the bottom and they just sent me a brand new one, no questions asked.

Excellent video! Been waiting for this one. I purchased the Pro about a month ago and have hooked up one of your kits (Active Aqua chiller, Danner pump etc.) No complaints whatsoever and the setup fits in with my current budget and requirements nicely at the moment.
What would you recommend to keep the water clean/clear? Are chlorine tabs suitable or will that impact the chiller/pump setup?
Thanks for the great content. Really enjoy the channel.

There are two types of reviews, unboxing and long term. They don’t mix for obvious constraints due to the laws of physics.

Just like you said. I used this for a year (before they had the chiller ports) and that let me test out cold plunging before I ultimately bought an ice barrel

I have the Ice Pod Pro and have been using it since July. First with ice and I upgraded to a chiller in early October. However, I went with the Active Aqua Chiller and 400gph pump which I did not submerge.

I have a similar brand, it seems pretty nice. The barrel shape is kinda tough to get in and out of as I'm 6'5 and once I'm sitting in it, it's hard to maneuver my legs to get and with it not being enough support to use my arms to press on it to get out I almost felt stuck and was scared of breaking it. Having something sturdy nearby to grab onto is essential if your tall like me

Can you do a video of the best cold tub for indoors. I am doing a bathroom remodel (will be a wet room) and was wondering which cold tub would work best.

How would this hold up outside in very tough and very cold Minnesota winters?

  • @michaeltrombatore123

In terms of how well you fit inside, how does the ice pod pro 2 compare to the ice barrel 300? Pretty much the same? There are external dimensions released for both but im not sure about the inner dimensions of the ice barrel 300. Thanks!

    • @DavidMausJr
      @DavidMausJr  14 วันที่ผ่านมา

The pod is taller, both are a little snug but they work. Ice barrel feels wider inside but not as tall

@DavidMausJr Thought so. I have the Ice Pod Pro currently. I'm 5' 8" and don't have to fill it as much but I guess I should still be ok with the 300. Thanks again!

I have had mine for almost a year and have been happy with it. I started with Ice and then got the Chiller. I am thinking of building a different filtering system as the water barely last 2-3 weeks. That’s with me using the liquids you recommend in your videos. I honestly think the cleaner they sell is pretty much just water. I stopped buying it and using alternative bio stuff my wife uses already and does a better job. My biggest frustration with it is that I punctured the rim and haven’t been able to patch it as it punctured by the stitching.

I almost never use the companies chemicals. People swear by them but I like HP and ozone better

What do you think about the insulation on this pod for the purpose of a DIY chiller setup? I live in New Orleans so summers get hot. I saw you used a 1/4 HP Active Aqua with the Ice barrel. Could you swing that with one of these pods or do you think you would you need a 1/2 HP setup? Thanks for all the great info! I was feeling overwhelmed with all the options out there but feel like I'm starting to narrow it down and hope to be plunging at home soon!

The bottom leaks, and WHY put an out valve on the bottom? I just opened mine up tonight and will be returning it because of leaks. If left, it would have damaged the floors

Wow! Thanks for sharing. Yeah, for the money they are OK options but I would easily recommend other options (just more expensive)

Maybe it got by me but what 1/3 or 1/2 horsepower DIY chillers would you recommended is best compatible with the ice pod pro??? Theirs is kind of pricey.

Can anyone explain why you can't use your tub for cold plunges? I know some tubs are small, but mine is big enough to fully submerge.
