I had the privilege of owning the first thar in Kolkata after it was launched in 2010. I still remember Behram sirs posts in Team Bhp. I had just cleared one of the toughest screening processes to get a Tbhp membership . (yes it was that tough in 2010 , was rejected 4 times). Bought the gen 1 thar at 6 lakhs ,and sold it after 9 years of use for 2 and half lakhs. I booked the 2020 thar in the first 5 minutes of the opening of bookings. Your father is a legend and we all thank him for what he has done. He will live forever through all the future generations of the Thar. Thankyou.

WOW!!!! That was a huge. Really loved the inside story. @Cyrus you are one lucky fellow, to be part of this legend. Speaking of legend, I used to follow the Team Bhp forum, where Behramji would personally reply to the members query. He is Father of the legend.
I've had the opportunity to drive the MM 540 and MG 310 in all sorts of terrain. Be it mud, flood, the Thar or the highway, the MM could beat MG 310 hands down any day. I've bashed the dunes where no MG could think of going. Once in 2010, I got stuck in more than knee deep mud and water, with 6 people onboard ... 4L and little to and fro ..... we are out. I used to love the MM 540. Alas, we couldn't maintain the rotary pump, hence the MM540 was phased out in around 2008-09, and slowly those still in service were eventually auctioned out as scrap.
Now, eagerly waiting for the 5-door thar. Need to upgrade my age old sedan. ;)
Great video Team Power Drift. This is the first time I'm commenting on your videos. You guys always have great review. Your RE Thunderbrid review where you scrap the foot peg in a turn, was day I started and till date, I never miss your videos.
    Keep it Up guys. CHEERS!!!

I had learned a lot under ur father in Thar project since 2009 from Italy launch till he was part of M&M.
He used to share the story about his passion and his next goal. He had aimed to launch THAR CRDe with 80 inch wheel base. Which was not came in existence due to inertia class regulation.
He always used to call himself mad because he see the dreams and chase the way other cannot dare to.

I have shared this out to everyone countless times; big part of my rational to buy the first gen Thar was Mr. Behram Dhabhar, used it as my daily driver for three years along with a family with two kids, took it on trails and it had a set of Hellas in front :-)

Good to hear the story again, this time from you Cyrus!
For someone who had been closely associated with the first gen Thar, I can very confidently say, without an iota of doubt, the Thar Project would have been scrapped and never seen the light of day, except for the efforts of one man - Sir Behram Dhabhar. Every single word that he said back then, has come true.
I'm sure he will be watching all this from above and grinning in his typical style.
