No wonder arguing over taste is pointless and a waste of time.

Thanks for an interesting music analysis that really gave my ears goosebumps! I think it’s safe to say that Elvis Presley’s voice is among the most recognizable in history and to this day. I appreciate how you explained in detail how much technique his voice had. As for the voice on the left side, yes there might have been some similarities but as I mentioned, the voice of Elvis is recognizable without any doubt. Thanks for doing this, Fil!

I appreciate you putting the spotlight on Elvis again, as an EP fan, but what I would really dig, is your expert analysis of Elvis as a singer-musician, how he managed to successfully sing in different genres like obviously rock and roll, light pop, soul, funky rock, gospel, country, folk, operatic… how he Specifically modified his voice and used his entire body and mind to achieve these vocals. If you understand what I mean. Elvis around the early 1970s, used to describe what he did as “singing from the gut… out”. Would be neat if you would investigate this process in detail, as a schooled musician. And how he specifically evolved vocally throughout the decades, 50s 60s 70s.

Fil You are so good at explaining things and you are always spot on . As soon as you played the first take I knew it wasn’t Elvis!. Because that man sounded nothing like Elvis at all. He did not have Elvis’ vibrato and Elvis wasn’t nasally. And your description of Elvis’ voice was 100% true. Because Elvis was “ Unique”. You are so fantastic at what you do. I really love your videos so keep them coming fast and furious. Because you are the GREATEST!. ❤️

Hi Fil! Firstly I’d like to say I love your analysis videos and your covers are great! Just to hear the natural voice without any editing is amazing..
I never knew that pitch correction and autotune was the main reason for me saying some artist sound beter live than on an official album… but you’ve opened my eyes to this!
Can you please do a video on JOSH GROBAN and if the live performances are actually his actual voice?
Thanks again for all your great informative videos, you have so much talent!

Thanks for the clip Fil although I don’t think an analysis was really necessary as it is quite obvious that the first person singing is not Elvis.
The first song is credited to a band by the name of “The Hands of Time“ and is from the movie soundtrack for “The Wild Angels” which was also released in 1966.
Mike Curb is credited for the music but there’s no other information about the band members. I’m guessing they were a studio band who were assembled to record the music for the movie and then disbanded as they have no other songs credited to them other than the 10 songs that were used in the movie.

I only needed to hear the first clip of that voice and I didn’t need the rest of your analysis (though I respect what you do don’t get me wrong) to know that isn’t Elvis. I’ve been recording voices for over 30 years and I guess after you do enough of it you get very in tune to people’s vocal nuances. There’s absolutely no way on earth that was Elvis. I would stake my reputation on that. Still, even though I am able to trust my ears, fully, I enjoyed your technical analysis. You always do a great job.

No matter how good a voice mime is, there are certain characteristics that can't be replicated. I know I'm a bit of a voice mime, so take whatever vale you can from that, and add it into the mix to what you said, along with the analysis by Fil, and that pretty much should erase any doubt.

The song is from the movie The Wild Angles (motorcycle movie} starring Nancy Sinatra and Peter Fonda music by Davey Allen and the Arrows. I have the original album but haven't looked to see if it lists who's singing. I saw Elvis in person thats not him.
