Same here! I sang in everything in high school, was in my Church choir..sang solo at weddings! But after years of NOT doing that and getting older..no way would I try it in Public anyway..lol
A singer's vibrato changes as they age. The vibrato slows down and control lessens. For example, listen to Steve Lawrence in his early years, and compare that to his most recent performances.
Also he was taking drugs when he was alive witch helps push the voice out much stronger!! I'm sure there was some damage done! Same with Whitney Huston.. When she came off drugs her voice was so different .. She didn't have the strength to push her voice out like she did when she was taking drugs!
I was thinking the same thing. I'm watching this the day of Lisa Marie's memorial at Graceland and during the memorial, Axl Rose sang November Rain. He didn't sound much the same as even 25 years ago. For me, listening to Nights in White Satin live from the early 70s compared to the group's tours singing it 40-50 years later definitely does not sound the same. Exactly, a person's voice alters slightly with age, the muscles weaken and stretch and I don't know why he didn't use some of Bob's professional recordings, instead of those casual church service ones where he is not really trying to create perfection, if Bob's voice was constantly identical to Elvis's much younger professional recordings, that would be odd. Yes, that's a good idea. The only person I can think of to use as an example is Donald Trump. If you watch his videos from the 80's he was very quietly spoken, quiet low voice, very quiet and he was also quite smart and articulate in those days. Intelligent. He also looked quite different. Now go to 2016 and he's loud, brash, at times obnoxious and not so well spoken or smart plus a beefy red face which he never used to have. He had golden skin and kind of the same nose and lips as Elvis. A difference of night and day the way he sounded and spoke than to the way he speaks and sounds now. If I didn't know better I would say it's not the same person. So in the difference of a young Elvis vibrato to an older Elvis you never know. It would be an interesting comparison.
@@pheart2381 except that when he was young he sang a lot of sort of falsetto very high tenor I guess it's called and so but when he got older he's he's saying more serious songs and therefore his voices got really deep in the soft songs like Love Me tender or when fools Rush In not to mention his hello type songs that he sang right he touched me so when he was young though and rocking and rolling it was a lot of high notes so I don't know if you can compare that or not to an older Elvis but remember people are comparing a younger Elvis to a much older Bob Joyce so when we get older our voices change all of us

He didn't have "formal" lessons but he grew up going to church 4-6 days a week and staying until MIDNIGHT singing Hymns with the church band, his family, his Grandpa Jessie (professional singer), his mom & dad sang with Elvis at home daily themselves also. They sang at friends & cousins for dinner and around the piano. Elvis worshipped Mario Lanza and listened to his albums and radio programs daily. Elvis hung out at Sun long before he himself was picked up. He helped Johnny Bragg with the Prisonaires with his own dialect & inflections when they were at Sun recording their album. Johnny Bragg tells the story in his autobiography. Elvis was 17 then and Sun was filled with Prison guards. Elvis toured singing at clubs and the entire US for 3 years 7 days a week 330 days a year, sang with tons of artist on Beale St. Before RCA picked him up in 1956. He sang with the Louisiana Hayride and all those Country greats, Nashville, NYC, LA - He had world renowned vocal coaches working with him from the start right up until his death. He was seeing vocal DR's making sure his cords stayed pristine and that he was keeping his voice in tiptop shape. Elvis slept in a car, stayed on DJ's couches, and showered at concert promoters homes after shows all while touring America & Canada for 3yrs straight. Elvis voice of the Century. Sings Like Mario Lanza. Elvis Voice Baritone Tenor. Most often asked question is why is Elvis Presley voice so unique? Elvis’ voice was the sound of an extraordinary singer with a range of more than two octaves, beautiful control with a tone, vibrato that crossed musical genres with ease and perfection.Music folks often talk of Elvis Presley’s voice range and power. Elvis was a baritone with tenor qualities and the ability of hitting the high notes. What makes Elvis voice unique from his contempories is his ability to across several genres. Example: In Heartbreak Hotel: The Life And Music Of Elvis Presley, Robert Matthew-Walker says: “Presley’s vocal range was exceptional for an untrained singer. It ranged from Low F in the bass register to top B Flat and B in the tenor range. This is over two octaves: most people can only managed just over one octave. Presley’s voice and range remained with him throughout his life, a fact proved by his recordings… Elvis could sing majestically in any style, be it rock n roll, country, gospel, country and western, R&B and even Christmas carols - because he sang from the heart with soul. And it is precisely voice qualities that has made made Elvis Presley the greatest singer in the history of popular music. Mario Lanza on the other hand with his hugely popular “bel canto” classically trained tenor voice infused with Elvis’ Southern roots created the core of his singing style. Elvis’ most important musical influence has to be Dean Martin. One of the hallmarks of Elvis’ vocal range is the ability to move seamlessly between his tenor and baritone voices. Combined with his range, he has great control over the placement of the voice in the different resonant centres such as the chest, head and the pharynx at the back of the mouth which affects the vocal tone. The Rock classic Jailhouse Rock features a distorted high tenor vocal combined with sloppy lyrical articulation in an explosive performance. In contrast with the pure, clean tone of Elvis’ 1960 rendition of the gospel classic Where Could I Go But To The Lord with a blend of resonance between the chest and head voices is clearly apparent. Whereas, Can’t Help Falling in Love Elvis explores the richness of his baritone range moving to a gorgeous light baritone in the bridge of the song. With Guitar Man Elvis offers “speak-singing” approach described by bass baritone Paul Robeson as a singer’s “technical holy grail”.Elvis had a brilliant ability to control the attack and ending of each note. This is consistant with Elvis’ Southern accent which denotes emphises on both the first and last letters of the spoke word. Liken to the way he pronounced Graceland - it was always “Grace-ld” In the recording of Blue Moon of Kentucky we can hear Elvis using a technique known as “glottal onset and offset” in which the vocal folds in the larynx are closed at the start of a note and closed with extra emphasis at the end of the note. With It’s Now Or Never marked Elvis’ transition to pop. The song was a reworked with English lyrics of Italian son O Sole Mio a signature hit for Mario Lanza. Alongside the operatic “bel canto” approach Elvis sings the song using a technique known as “devoicing” which creates sudden drops in the dynamic of the vocal. This allows Elvis to mark the emotional fragility in the lyric with a mix of assertiveness and vulnerability. More on Elvis His Finest 100 Songs The crucial element in Elvis’ sonic signature voice was his use of vibrato in the Battle Hymn of the Republic segment of the song American Trilogy which features the sound of his vocals vibrating together in all their glory creating a sound that has been much copied in pop music but never bettered.

Elvis Presley suffered a tragic death on August 16, 1977, when he was found face down on the floor of his bathroom. He was just 42. In 2016 Garry Rodgers, a retired homicide detective and forensic coroner, told the Huffington Post that with all his organs in ill health and enlarged, he would have attributed Elvis' death to a heart attack caused by heart disease and drug use caused by an autoimmune disease which was sparked by a brain injury. There is NO QUESTION that Elvis Presley is dead. All documents and witnesses confirm it. ALL of them.

marion asked "well who do you sound like?" and "do you sing hillbilly?" yes "well who do you sound like in hillbilly" answer "I don't sound like nobody". what a moment.
Hmmm. I'll tell you who Elvis sounds like... Otis Blackwell...please note that I'm not saying that Blackwell sounds like Elvis, but that Elvis sounds like Blackwell, who wrote a bunch of songs that Elvis covered, and pre-dates Elvis
In concert Elvis could blow it away and shake the room. What a force to sit there and take that in. You forgot to breathe. There will only ever be one Elvis. I'm really glad I saw him and a few other top bands. What a time to live.
Could the difference in age have anything to do with the voices not lining up? My voice (being female) has deepened since a bout of laryngitis when I was younger. This pastor sounds much like Elvis when speaking. If this is really him, and he gave up his life before, well maybe it's best to let him be, and live his life now for preaching God's Word. DNA might prove his identity for sure, but I think we should let him rest.
I believe he is Elvis! Of course his voice may be a little different…he’s 87 now! Age changes everything! People need to leave him alone! All he wants is peace in his life! He deserves that!!!
I say leave the man of God in peace! God changed Saul ‘s name to Paul ! Why does anybody care except Satan who wants to destroy anyone that stands up for Jesus Christ ! God has Elvis where he wants him and he don’t have to answer to anyone . We have all sinned and come short of the glory of God ! Praise God for Bob Joyce !

If this is Elvis he truly is smart, we all know he was very spiritual what a genius he was to fake his death and become a pastor and still do the things he loved, singing and playing piano but to a smaller crowd, without the hassle of fans, being able to walk to the shops unnoticed and concert commitments.

Well said. I believe it's him and that he's on Telegram every day on his channel where he talks to us and shows us all the evidence and might need to prove both he is who he says and all he accomplished so far in his life. I was trying to find myself when one day I find that Elvis is alive and that he's a distant cousin of mine and talked to him all on the same day
Most times an impersonator does Elvis he does the deep baritone that Elvis developed in his Vegas days, mostly in his covers of big ballads that Elvis favored. Elvis didn't push his high baritone in those days and only in his big ballads did he push the higher notes. The difference between the young Elvis, say 1957 to 1962 and the Vegas Elvis of 1969 was only about 12 years. His voice changed so much in that time till his death. The raspy highs were gone which had really defined Elvis in the first place.
I love Elvis ❤️ started collecting since I was 19 lol be turning 50 next month and still collecting he's everything beautiful at any age! His voice is heavenly 😍
I'm not sure if you can compare a young Elvis voice accurately with an 86 year old Elvis voice. There are several older singer I have heard sing recently, and it was obvious that it was still them singing, but they just didn't have the range or control that they once had to their youth. Also, the difference in the speed of vibrato could be caused by age and a more relaxed demeanor while singing. And if his voice is so close digitally that he could be trained to be "spot on" then why couldn't it be him, but with an aged voice? What are the odds that a person is the same age, looks just like him, and has a voice that is so close to Elvis that he could be trained to be spot on?
Exactly. I will have to revisit wings of Pegasus video, but if you listen to his exact words - he doesn’t completely confirm or deny. I get it. If this were my channel I’d worked hard on - I would double think which hill to die on if that makes sense. Wings of Pegasus is smart. Saying this def is EP right off the cuff - has a surface value equal to “ hey listen , doubt my credibility and stop watching my channel “. So being smart he leads us to no firm door slams nor does he claim to be all knowing mascot. What one sees if observant is Pegasus as always is smiling , but possibly a bit more than normal as he knows deep down there is some special sauce in this recipe. One example. People say Pegasus says” it’s not him “ in the beginning of the video. What he says actuallly is something like “ as we take a listen we see this man …. Doesn’t look like Elvis , but let’s have a listen. “. This is a paraphrase. Let’s use our comprehension skills. He actually said that at a quick glance this doesn’t appear to be Elvis. Question - did he just say it wasn’t EP? Many would say - yes. The answer is actually - No! What he said was at 1st glance it doesn’t jump out at him that this is Elvis. 2 similar but very different meaning sentences. I’m not picking this hill either to die on. Just my 2 cents. :)
Can we all just take a moment here to appreciate Fils ability to accurately reproduce the sound of so many different artists!! Rook Master... I agree with you except I want to keep saying that first of all we're comparing approximately a 40-year-old man singing in his prime really cuz Elvis just got better with time but we're comparing it to a man who's 85 or more years old he may even be closer to 90 now and I don't know of anyone that stays just as good as they were when they were young or in their prime maybe I want to say so whether this is Elvis or not is kind of fun to think about of course cuz we love her Our heroes if you will and there's no one like Elvis and there will never ever be another one nowhere close because he had a natural ability about him that those who are imitating just can't quite pick up it's rare I think and I spoke of my son earlier who could imitate Garth to a t not in the singing But in every move he made and two years in a row he made a big deal at his school program that girls chased him down the hallway they wanted his autograph and he did it two years in a row and they went wild over him he was 8 or 9 years old he practiced every day though watching Garth Brooks films we had to record in my other son and I was 11 years older than my youngest and we went through it every night with him for a year for him to be able to perform anything shameless unbelievable like I just sat back and go okay I don't believe this but his movements his hat his walk his everything it was shocking and I'm not saying that cuz that's my son cuz I'm extremely critical of my own... @@karenking5357 I can assure you that Robert Wayne Joyce is 69 years old and was born in Texas June 19th, 1952. He is not an "85 or more" year old man. The "Bob Is Elvis" myth is nothing more than an internet hoax that has grown so big and fooled so many gullible people and has become one of the biggest lies on the internet. Bob has been a life long Elvis fan and learned to imitate him from a young age. I have read that he worked as an ETA for a little while in the late 70's/early 80's before he became a preacher but I haven't been able to verify this information. Bob has a good voice and is doing a great job in bringing people to Jesus but Elvis sadly died in 1977 and nothing will ever change that fact.
My husband is a preacher and knew of the preacher who did Elvis’s funeral. He also was good friends with the one who did the autopsy and said Elvis’s actual body was there. I was almost sure about this too about Bob Joyce for a few months. Plus Bob is a lot younger the Elvis would be, if he were still alive today. Thank you for taking this time to show the vocal truth.👍🏼
Fil you are an amazing singer in your own right. I am blown away by your knowledge as well as your skill. Plus, you're such a nice guy! Love that smile
Elvis recorded the same song as Pastor Bob is I singing here. Would’ve been interesting to compare the voices singing the same song. But this was interesting too. Good job! Thanks for this!
Maybe the age makes a difference. I heard a recent release of Bob Joyce last October of 2021 while on the same week an Elvis studio recording of Amazing Grace. You could tell how same they are.
@@gingerm1974 You can put your words together so they work; you don't have to throw them together like a tossed salad. You can say "the voices were the same" or "the voices sounded very much the same." It's alright to think before you type; it's okay to construct intelligent, workable sentences. You don't have to make excuses for a dumbed down TH-cam audience of comment-readers. I encourage you to aim a little higher in your use of the language, and to not make excuses. Just because many understood your meaning, doesn't justify lazy language practices. If people keep on with their language-deconstructionism, they won't be intelligible at all.
The story I read, was Bob was in his early 80's when these videos were filmed, and they were not released until after Bob died. So, my question is, if Elvis had lived, wouldn't his voice have become weaker as he aged? I think Frank Sinatra's voice waned as he aged. Even Tom Jones admits he had to alter the keys to some of his songs as he got older. Although he still sounds incredible. After you started making Auto tune exposure videos, It made me wonder about Tom Jones giving an incredible live performance in a garden, during the pandemic. Now I am suspicious he may have had a little help from autotune. But, turning the subject back to Bob, if we remember there is over a 40 year age difference between the comparison of the two singers voices, could his vibrato have aged, and we are possibly listening to an 82 year old Elvis?
Well we celebrate his birthday every January and we celebrate if you will or at least memorializes death every August I'd say pretty much we do have the guy memorialized into the minds and hearts of many people even the young people are listening to Elvis Presley now until our wings of Pegasus guy it's not Presley with a Z... it's Presley, Elvis Presley with an S
I do and always will appreciate his talent. The reason there will never be a national holiday is probably due to his relationships with much younger girls. If he was a contemporary artist he would be in a lot of trouble. I don’t accept that it was different times. You’re either attracted to children or you’re not.
@@tomlorenzen4062 And what exactly do I need to educate myself about.? Because I’m talking about the child who he had to wait until she was old enough to marry fact. Whether you believe that nothing happened between them before she was of legal age is entirely up to you. The fact remains she was still a child when he had his eye on her. Anyway like my first sentence said I will always respect his talent. My own father was quite a well respected Elvis impersonator. So I grew up listening to and enjoying his music. I was simply trying to explain why it would be unlikely that they will have a national day for him.
the voices might sound similar, but you can tell from the beginning that they're not the same. Elvis' voice sounds warmer and richer. you can hear the difference without analysing. Fil, you're great! ♡
@@wingsofpegasus Dear Wings of Pegasus, please don't forget about the fact that Bob is around 68 or 86 and Elvis was much younger when he sang this song. Could you please pick up another song for your analysis next time? American Trilogy please. th-cam.com/video/wBsFY_e0H9I/w-d-xo.html Or it would be really helpful to hear the same songs from both singers.
@@wingsofpegasus I don't claim that the theory has a stable basis... Of course you are the expert of music, I am just a music lover, but I think that choosing the same song for the comparison mean a lot and vibrato may weaken (slip) over time. The latter is the reason that I referred to Bob's age.
Bob Joyce does have many professionally recorded songs. To be completely fair in your analysis, I would suggest comparing the professional recordings. Actually, Bob has recordings of the same songs that Elvis recorded. Now, that's a comparison worth taking seriously, in my opinion. As both sing live, try two live recordings of the same song such as the TH-cam link below. th-cam.com/video/_OGU56HTxs8/w-d-xo.html Both sang "Who am I" separately in recordings. Here are the two separate recordings played simultaneously. th-cam.com/video/2vQkmwWY_Yw/w-d-xo.html Why not give this a fair analysis, side by side? The songs are out there, live or recorded, by both artists.
@@57americangirl Not to be insulting toward the host but, with all of his "scientific" approach to voice analysis you would hope that he had done enough research to know whether or not Bob Joyce had professional recordings and if, in fact, in those recordings had sung some of the same songs that Elvis had sung (which he did) and to place those same songs side by side for a true technical analysis.
@@rogandbingofbingalahtravel3680 Exactly! Gotta feel that he doesn't actually wish confirm that it's elvis for obvious reasons. He did say the only thing that keeps him from confirming it's a match is the slower vibrato - which can be slowed down deliberately. I can easily slow down my own vibrato and I'm not even a singer. And of course, if it is actually Elvis, he'd have to downplay and disguise his voice somewhat... or there goes his peaceful life
I don't know whether to laugh, cry or be angry.. Elvis could really sing. His voice and delivery touch one deep inside. Elvis singing is sincere, being totally himself, how he feels, no gimmicks. With the first line I could immediately hear that Bob wasn't Elvis. Period.
I totally agree with the idea that the first line that Elvis sang you knew it was Elvis and no one else but we are comparing a 40-year-old man which is Elvis against the 80-year-old man singing who's also not trying to show his whole talent most likely if he were indeed Elvis cuz otherwise people would be flocking to him once again and he's trying to avoid that if the story is true I'm just saying if I'm not sure how I believe about it but I'm not going to say absolutely either way
To me Elvis Presley still the best Male singer ever and the great’s entertainer on live stage . I miss him what kind of music he would have accomplished if he didn’t died to early.
I stumbled upon bob Joyce conspiracy and was caught of guard. At first I was laughing but then I was like ok, lets see. I’m a professional video editor and sound engineer for 11 years. I’ve done comparisons to Bob and Elvis footage and audio wise, and the results are so close it’s insane. His cheek bones, eyes identical. (Nose and ears continue getting bigger as we age) his movements are around the same, vocals when speaking are close, singing are close but with age it changes as well. I was messing around and rendered bob without a beard and darker and smoother skin tone and the results are scary identical. Audio wise it was a bit of a difference due to poor quality but still matched. My professional opinion, no way Bob has this much comparison without ether being related or him. (Not trying to add to what people have said) Just my opinion. I know age wise he doesn’t look the part, but Elvis had good genes and always looked younger, and this man does look older that 60 something. I would say this very well could be Elvis. Wish Bob would do a professional interview, but he’s denied everyone.
None of the things you mention are accurate. There's nothing that matches. The eyes, nose, mouth, lips, teeth, nothing matches. I also rendered him without a beard and he looks even less like Elvis if that's even possible. Oh, and the speaking voice is waaaay different. Maybe you were comparing Elvis to Elvis?
Also Elvis Would Be 89 this man is truly not 89.Elvis passed away in 1977 his bodyguards talk about his death in a video and they are so heartbroken you can tell it affected them.
You are absolutely right! 👍 👍👍 Bob Joyce is NOT Elvis Presley!! Elvis died in 1977 of a heart attack! Between Bob and Elvis is an age difference of about 17 years! It's impossible!!!
Everytime, he played Elvis, esp., the last comparison of Elvis singing, I would get strong pulsating chills... I felt like crying... such a RICH... BEAUTIFUL and SOULFUL voice. This brings me to start listening to his music again... Can you imagine Elvis singing in Heaven? If it was beautifully Soulful here, it's definetly divinely Spiritual in Heaven...🦋
As a female singer with a very natural vibrato, untrained, I always wanted a huge chest voice, but I had more of a folk/jazz voice. Now many years later, my head voice is much weaker, but my lower register is so much better.
Hello, for those who say that the voice changes as it ages and that Elvis' voice has changed (In Bob) to the point of no longer being comparable by software... We should take, for example, the voice of the young Cat Steven and compare it with that of Cat Steven old with the same song to study the differences of voice in old age. In this way, we could estimate more clearly whether the voice of young Elvis could possibly have evolved into the voice of old Bob or not. Thank

Pastor Bob Joyce IS a different person. He's no longer being managed and manipulated by an agent who did not care one whit about him. If you have ever played an instrument or sung well using your voice...it takes practice. With Elvis in his younger years, he seemed to embody the music. My understanding about that is in his childhood years he belonged to a charismatic church where there was a lot if freedom to move about and speak in tongues. Something like that. As I have watched Elvis on stage, as he sings and embodies the musice, it is as if his early childhood involvement with the body bec aaaaas me very active. Be did not have to think anything through. He seemed to be a Natural Man...able to let the music carry him. It was remarkable. I have enjoyed hours and hours of listening to Elvis. @@jurivlk5433 so, the question is...have you actually delved into looking at all aspects of Elvis? People change over time. The saying if you don't use it you lose it. I myself used to be a soprano...and then, went on stage to sing in a choir, not having sung in years and years... I had turned into an alto. It was shocking. And, it was true. Yet, I was the same person. People change. I see most people who loved Elvis, and knew that because he 'died' ...that was that. Before Fil's assessment of Elvis' voice, I had heard from extremely reliable sources that not only was Elvis alive, but there are a number of others who are famous who went into Witness Protection so they could be safe or so they could have their life back. Elvis is one of those. I also heard he would be coming forward, at some point. I don't know about that. Yet, what will you do when you see and experience others who we have all cherished come forward? Life as we have known it will change, quite literally, over night. Will your system be able to handle it? We're so used to speaking off the cuff - and that just makes it so. Yet, what if that way of appriaching life really needs to be reexamined. In the days if Elvis, we were all so naive. We were not taught in school to ask questions to discern anything other than what we saw and 'knew'. With this experience about Elvis, the actual evidence is on line, if one dares consider the possibility there may be any truth to the possibility of his being alive. I was not one, as I've said, who love-loved Elvis. I just was occupied in my life differently. Si, when the possibility of his being alive - and, when someone I knew who was extremely reliable mentioned Bob Joyce being him...I decided to check it out. It was such a treat to go down that lane...
Of course Bob is trying hard to sound like Elvis...so he can scam fools who don't live in reality and face the fact that unfortunately Elvis did die in 1977.

As an afterthought…I have to say that I think ‘Where No one Stands Alone’ is one of the loveliest songs ever. I’m guessing Fil didn’t use Elvis’s recording of the song, because he was much younger when he recorded it. I know he sang it live in later years, but perhaps it wasn’t up to the standard of the album version. I have to say that I also love the more recent duet with Elvis and Lisa Marie. I tend to be quite critical of these types of duets, but this particular one almost brings me to tears.
Lyle it definitely brings me to tears because I'm a baby boomer and I sure relate to Elvis and we hate that he left us in the way that he left you know we would have loved for him to gotten old with us we think we would have loved that but as we age we don't usually get to stay as pretty we don't sing as good as we used to we don't even sing us as fast of vibrato as we did when we were younger so I think this is a fair analysis as possible but I don't think it's fair cuz you're comparing a young Elvis even if Elvis is 40 you're comparing it to an 85 year old man who doesn't have a great microphone there is noise in the background all that right and not a professional recording whatsoever I think all that can make a difference

Well, an accurate comparison would be of Bob singing at the same age Elvis was in this sound clip. Everyone's voice changes as they age and generally does not have the same strength and precision as in younger years.
I didn't listen to the entire presentation. However, I agree about certain similarities. But he really doesn't sound like Elvis. Many try to copy Elvis but I have yet to hear anyone get the job done. Fil you should take a crack at it. You have a great voice man. Thanks for this and all you offer us.
Bob Joyce was telling the truth when he was asked "Are you Elvis? answer "No." That is because he isn't Elvis anymore. Also, a man in his mid 80's isn't going to have the same exact singing voice he had 40+ years ago. Also, it has been said that he had surgery on his nose to narrow the bridge, and face lifts. There are many many other things about Bob Joyce that directly tie him to Elvis. However, it's better for him that most people don't think he is Elvis. He has no interest in resurrecting his previous life style. He is serving Jesus, and is happier then he ever was before.
If Elvis was alive he be 88 years old, Bob was born in 1963 making him 61 years old. Bob does not look like he’s nearly 90 years old… Elvis died that day in 1977, I remember it like it was yesterday. That and Bob regularly reminds people he is Bob … he is Bob who lived a whole life who he is, from his birth certificate to his high school year books to his work in ministry, his life has left a trail of bread crumbs that are easily followed.
Thank you Fil I did this analysis a few years back. I came to the the conclusion that Bob was so similar and for a while I thought there was a possibility. When he sings American Trilogy, where he sang with his son at their local pub...glory glory hallelujah his truth goes marching on...it's outstanding Elvis was maybe one of the most consummate performers of all time because he embodied the music he sang. The song, the music, Elvis the singer, the notes and the words and the genuine connection amalgamated into a heartfelt perfection which has the listener risen into this same quality of the ethereal sacred place of Source that Elvis occupied within. Good work Fil, your ear for music separates you from the rest. I like your voice as well. Adam Lambert is a proper performer that expresses the heights of glory that Elvis ascended to.

After listening to Bob's voice after a few videos, the impression is that he was always making a lot of vibrato, and that made think if he really was trying to imitate or really was the voice of an old Elvis.
He simply isn't Elvis and that's a fact that you can bank. Not even close. And to top it off, Bobs voice lacks the feeling, the control and the smoothness with which only Elvis could change notes.

There will never be anyone like Elvis. He had a gorgeous voice. His speaking voice was unbeliavable. Of course, the beauty of Elvis sensitive soul was reflected in his voice. Elvis had such soul and depth, love and spiritual depth in his singing. His daughter, late Lisa Marie, had inherited her father's genes and an exquisitely beautiful voice. I have never heard anyone have equally beautiful speaking voice as Elvis and his daughter. Even today, Elvis'es voice and singing takes me to heavenly spheres and touches my heart the deepest way.
@@elisabethmattson485 you're right. One should just let go. It was so sad that Elvis died so young. He came from poverty, had nothing but his talent, looks and charisma. He took responsibility for his parents. This man had balls. No one assisted him nor autotuned his sound for record companies which were not many. He made it all by himself.
Lisa was talented and always in her dad' s shadow. However, her starting point was different from her dad's. He started from nothing. Nothing was given to Elvis on a silver platter. Yes, fame can be an imprisonment, as it perhaps was for beautiful Lisa Marie.
@@jane_7193 And that imprisonment is what got where it made Elvis so bound up with the depression& drugs and anything else… because he said he just wanted to be able to walk out among people and not be mobbed… and go to church and sing gospel songs among the people… he said he loved his fans sooo much , but he also needed a normal life of freedom sometimes…
Amen! Elvis used to stay up all night singing gospel songs with the Jordanares. Of course, itwas his favorite music. You have a nice voice yourself, Fil.
If Elvis were singing now, his voice would be different than when he was 40. Listen to a Paul McCartney song recorded 50 years ago, and compare it to a current recording. It would sound very different. I don't think this guy is Elvis, but if they were the same age, they'd sound remarkably similar.

A singer's vibrato changes as they age. The vibrato slows down and control lessens. For example, listen to Steve Lawrence in his early years, and compare that to his most recent performances.
Absolutely!
I agree n I wonder if that was even taken into consideration

I dont think there was much difference. His voice was pretty much there from the start. Would be interesting to look.

He sang with Hollywood voice coaches to loose his southern drawl, to make sure his voice in the musicals he was in were up to studio standards. William Morris was his PR Agency and they made sure he had cutting edge coaches and photographers. He didn't GET LUCKY in ANYTHING he did.

Bob is singing as a late 70 or 80 year old man versus an Elvis of decades ago. So, I really don’t know what’s true. Did Elvis “die” to his entire old way of life and get a new identity devoted to the Lord? 🤷🏻♀️🤷🏻♀️🤷🏻♀️
TCB linda....
I agree. I thought it compelling and satisfies my gut feelings that it this scenario could be possible.
His facial features are not the same, his front teeth are spaced… he simply doesn’t look like Elvis. As for his voice, well he sounds like he’s trying to impersonate Elvis and fails in many ways.
We have to move on and accept the fact that Elvis died on August 16th 1977.
Besides the fact we have eye witness accounts of his death, an autopsy performed… how can anyone believe that he’d allow his daughter to think he was dead if he wasn’t? Wouldn’t that be incredibly selfish and cruel and for what purpose? To become pastor Bob? Seriously?! If he had been that self centered, do you think he would stage his death that way?
@@De.V. I don’t know who would be privy to his identity change IF he pulled off such a thing. Anyway, it’s interesting is all. And truth be told, it doesn’t matter to me if Elvis is alive or dead. This pastor says he’s Bob. He doesn’t claim to be Elvis. 👍
Great video, man! It's nice to see so much respect being shown to Elvis these past couple of years.
He had become a punchline for so long that when someone like you actually takes the time to analyze his voice , it really lends him a lot of long overdue respect. The man's voice was amazing.

Great analyzing video! You should analyze Elvis voice when he sang some songs in the 1960’s with a different sound and he didn’t sound like a baritone singer. “ A pocketful of rainbows” , “Wooden Heart” and Summer Kisses Winter Tears.”
As most singers age, the vibrato slows up, and unless the elderly musician is in good physical shape, breath control affects the vibrato speed.
Exactly, peoples voices changed, some through age only n some through conditions such as asthma as they use a puffer throughout the years.
Well said Debbie, was thinking the same thing myself.
And remember, he was singing Live in a Strip Mall, Church.. Ina studio, you polish your delivery

@@elvispresleysgirl4811 Barely audible?? As much as I love the boss, Springsteens vocal cords are basically shredded. His voice is a shell of of its former self. I can certainly hear the difference in Diamond and Billy Joel as they aged. Just listen to Diamond in the late 60s to early 70s and compare it to present. Or listen to live clips of Joel around 1978 and compare it to present. Now, they are still great performers. But, most peoples voices age right along with the rest of their bodies and the difference is certainly audible.
It’d be interesting to compare young Sinatra with old Sinatra to see if the vibrato and patterns changed with age and artistic movement.
As a huge Sinatra fan-his voice definitely changed as he aged. Was it still fine wine? Absolutely! Everyone’s changes

Yes, the raspiness had gone, but it doesn't make this guy Elvis. He simply isn't.

Pretty much impossible I'd say! Bob is in his 60's I believe so he's 20 years too young!

The "Bob Is Elvis" myth is nothing more than an internet hoax that has grown so big and fooled so many gullible people and has become one of the biggest lies on the internet. Bob has been a life long Elvis fan
and learned to imitate him from a young age.
You can put your words together so they work; you don't have to throw them together like a tossed salad.
Très bonne étude ! Belle comparaison mais Elvis reste de loin le meilleur ❤ merci pour cette vidéo
Apparently Bob Joyce is 69 and very much alive.

There is, was only Elvis- period. Great to see people still remembering him, he wouldn't believe it. There should be a national holiday for him
Would love to see that happen, but probably won't .

@@hantosk I'm really analysing vocal traits here, but the fact Bob is in his 60's is evidence enough for the 'Bob is Elvis' theory 🙂
@@wingsofpegasus I don't claim that the theory has a stable basis... Of course you are the expert of music, I am just a music lover, but I think that choosing the same song for the comparison mean a lot and vibrato may weaken (slip) over time. The latter is the reason that I referred to Bob's age.
LOVE YOUR HAIR HERE, FIL
(and I AM shouting so you can hear me all the way from New Jersey, LOL)
Excellent analysis, Fil. Thank you for the work you put into these.
Bob Joyce does have many professionally recorded songs.
To be completely fair in your analysis, I would suggest comparing the professional recordings.
Actually, Bob has recordings of the same songs that Elvis recorded. Now, that's a comparison worth taking seriously, in my opinion.
As both sing live, try two live recordings of the same song such as the TH-cam link below.
th-cam.com/video/_OGU56HTxs8/w-d-xo.html
Both sang "Who am I" separately in recordings. Here are the two separate recordings played simultaneously.
th-cam.com/video/2vQkmwWY_Yw/w-d-xo.html
Why not give this a fair analysis, side by side? The songs are out there, live or recorded, by both artists.
Yes, he does have professional recordings out, that could easily be found. Lots of them are on TH-cam. I think my favorite is "Winds of Grace". :)
I was definitely disappointed he picked this song Bob Joyce has a lot better recordings
The trilogy? And others too

I have heard Bob say the same thing. "I was born Bob Joyce and that's who I am."

He's 17 years too young to be Elvis, born 1952!

As a performer he was very very remarkable, surpassed by so one and impacting everyone- in a very good way.
