Orochimaru wanted kill Nagato, Yahiko, and Konan when they first met as kids, which means he had a chance to stop Pain from existing later down the line. Ironically he was stopped by Jiraiya. Had he done so though, Jiraiya might still be alive & The Akatsuki might not have been able to reach the hights they got to in the series. I think that's something that's often over looked.

There's a theory that Orochimaru's parents were also scientists but not shinobi. There were so great that villages desired their work, however not being strong enough to protect themselves or having safe ground they were killed. This for me explains why Orochimaru desires to master all known jutsu and more to be able to protect himself from anyone and everyone who wants to harm him. Him going back to doing experiments may be indication of his love for his parents.
Orochimaru is by far the best written/ interesting Sannin. If you think about it the otutsuki is kinda based on orichmaru’s ideal and orichmaru wanted otutsuki like power/dna. Immorality is something otutsuki really want and curse mark is similiar to the karma seal. Orichmaru placed a part of him in each curse mark which he could resurrect from just as otutsuki place karma on people ,so they can take over there body. Orichmaru’s also thinks dna is everything.

His chakra control is top tier, his speed is top tier in every aspect (travel, reaction, combat speed), thanks to the perfect chakra control his durability and strength can be insane. The only reason we don't see him punching as strong as Sakura do, is because he used all his chakra to keep himself alive. Again, with perfect chakra control. And we know this also from his early childhood. If he never dies and can train, he would be EASILY on Hokage Naruto and Sasuke level in Boruto. Easily. Sadly that's not what happened. Orochimaru's parents were scientists that helped Tobirama create the Edo tensie and tobiram betrayed them and killed them because he was afraid that someone would learn and use the jutsu because of how strong it was. You can learn this from a novel that is Canon called "the tail of the utterly gutsy Shinobi" the plot is basically jiraiya trying to hunt down orochimaru with Tsunade and another ninja, this other ninja knew orochimaru's parents and fought with them. If you want a little breakdown of the story a TH-camr called astrojack made a video titled jiraiya's parents revealed that basically breaks down the story.
Even if it is canon the part where his parents are scientists was just theorizing on astrojacks part that's not in the book. It's also not about Jiraiya going to look for orchimaru it's actually supposed to be the book Jiraiya wrote.
The pure strength of Orochimaru is showcased in the land of Valley's when a severely injured Mugino gets saved by Orochimaru from Victor's assistant. It's not that she is supposed to be exceptionally powerful or anything but Orochimaru straight Thanos snapped her out of existence. That scene for me marks the start of Boruto as a show finally taking the reins and going beyond what Shippudden was. It also happens to basically be the beginning of the Kara arc...

Would be really cool if Orochimaru has all the answers to help defeat the Otsutsuki, and in the end of Boruto, he answers all of the questions he set out to look for. I hope the plot in boruto is as sneaky and deep as how Black Zetsu was in Naruto
My theory is that he has at least worked with amado and knows a lot about everything to do with Kara and the ohtsutski, nobody has been asking him anything in Boruto for a long time it's bound to be revealed at some point

Orochimaru is one of the most broken characters in the entire narutoverse. I mean you could argue he's the one who discovered sage mode after Hashirama died. Jiraiya did too but a specific version of it taught to him by toad sage. It's actually crazy to think that Hiruzen went toe to toe with him and edo tensei versions of Hashirama and Tobirama who are broken characters in their own right. Is it any wonder Konoha won all 3 of the previous great Ninja Wars with guys like that coupled in with shinobi like Tsunade, Minato, Kakashi and THE ENTIRE UCHICHA CLAN.

Orochimaru quite literally might be the most op character in boruto on behalf of the leaf. Two statements made in the boruto series stood out to me. 1. Naruto states that Orochimaru is very dangerous and powerful and that even he would rather not have to deal with him. Naruto also states that Orochimaru is key in the fight against an oktsuki threat. 2. After seeing Sasuke and Naruto fight to both Boruto and Saradas shock Mitsuki says. "Your parents are strong, but not as strong as my parent." Which is interesting for that Mitsuki didn't tell jokes. I don't think or don't know if he's stronger than Sasuke and Naruto, but he could definitely be on par with them at least
Orochimaru was always one of my favorite characters, and I felt massively underused. To the point that Hiruzen considered him more powerful than Jiriya says alot. Every time you see him fight, he never seems to be fighting seriously, even against Itachi and Pain he seemed to be just screwing around to get them to let him in. You don't get to see how awesome he is until certain parts of boruto, like his insane kenjutsu skills. He's either hurt, or screwing around, so he seems weaker than he is. We need a true oro redemption arc, well I need one. lol

people! You are forgetting such important things! We have never seen Orochimaru fight at the height of his power, and the only two battles that we know he fought at the height of his power were against Prime Hirozen and Prime Hanzo (who were considered invincible at their time and at their peak). With no hands, when he's half dying he fights Naruto Four Tails like it's a game that amuses him (compared to Giraya who almost died in the same situation). It is known that in all the other battles we have seen him or heard about, he amused himself to see what the enemy's peak strength was and did not really try to win (even the Datta Book writes that it was his fun to witness the strength of others). In the battle against Itchi, he didn't even try to run away from the sword believing that he could beat our horse (he of course knew this broken ability and wasn't afraid of it which says a lot about his strength) and even laughed that there was no point in running away. Unfortunately, we learned the hard way that Itsai used the most broken weapon that Kishimoto invented, so he had no way to show us the peak of his power in this battle either. But he also survived this legendary sword! And brought back to life by the crazy technique he invented himself the cursed seal. I can't stand that people think that Sasuke beat Oruchimauro, because even Sasuke and Suigito admitted that if Orochimaru wasn't sick, Sasuke wouldn't have been able to beat him alive. Another thing that shows his strength, Itachi used Tsukuyomi on him, (many people don't understand this because in the anime he has a base Chariganan) and Orochimaru managed to try to resist until his hand was cut off and then run away. Compared to Kakshi, who took months to recover and come back to himself. Ironically, Itachi was the perfect counter to Orchimaru and that's why he was so strong against him. People forget that Orozimaru was punched barehanded by Tsunade (punches that managed to break Madara's Susano yes?), resistant to any kind of poison, paralyzed Tobi with the white mask easily, managed to summon the god of death and release souls like nothing, summon the four kage at the peak their power and control them (note that the first one will be difficult and challenging). At the end of Shipodan he already has a perfect white zetsu body, he can use wood release, all the techniques of the sound fifth including Kimimaru, Edo Tensei is perfect, there is no reason why he can't even use the technique of the second and fourth to move from one place to another in a second, Sage's option Snake mod (because he has a new and healthy body and his children can), and many other techniques we have seen and yet we have not seen their power like the great hydra. Even Naruto when he is together with Sasuke activates kcm2 when he enters Orochimaru's cave in Baruto and says "that Orochimaru should not be underestimated and that even now he is afraid of him" - we are talking about Naruto at the height of his power together with the second strongest ninja in the world is that clear to you? Not to mention that when his son sees Naruto Sasuke fight, he tells Boruto and Sadara "Your parents are strong, but my father is stronger" in all seriousness. There is a reason that the writer left all these hints, to make it clear to us how strong he is today, and that he has another important role in the future. I still hope and expect that we will get to see the strongest Sanin at the peak of his power. Please don't underestimate my most favorite character! I have gone through all of TH-cam and there is not even anyone else who has made a video that really does the character a favor, to understand how strong she is, that she has never fought seriously or shown the peak of her strength. @@Stolas9 Agreed a lot of people think itachi is weak he was never weak he just was sick. As an weakened edo just by not having his sickness he was literally sparring with kcm Naruto and killer bee at the same time and dodging them. His sickness ruined his potential his taijutsu was amazing and he uses to use a sword (kenjutsu). I’d say Orochimaru has one of the best kenjutsu fighting styles in the series( literally having his sword make 4 tails go across the forest! Lol) ,but with itachi’s speed and strength he would win. I think itachi has gotten downplayed recently because he was one overrated in strength. Now he’s quite underrated and he’s obviously not beating Orochimaru in pure justu ,but he does not need to. I want to say boruto Orochimaru can beat itachi ,but until we get feats I can’t say that. Orichmaru is a huge threat though and I imagine he has gotten way stronger. Naruto wouldn’t get out of sage mode when they went to his lab lol.

Orochimaru's parents were scientists that helped Tobirama create the Edo tensie and tobiram betrayed them and killed them because he was afraid that someone would learn and use the jutsu because of how strong it was. You can learn this from a novel that is Canon called "the tail of the utterly gutsy Shinobi" the plot is basically jiraiya trying to hunt down orochimaru with Tsunade and another ninja, this other ninja knew orochimaru's parents and fought with them.
If you want a little breakdown of the story a TH-camr called astrojack made a video titled jiraiya's parents revealed that basically breaks down the story.
Even if it is canon the part where his parents are scientists was just theorizing on astrojacks part that's not in the book. It's also not about Jiraiya going to look for orchimaru it's actually supposed to be the book Jiraiya wrote.
The pure strength of Orochimaru is showcased in the land of Valley's when a severely injured Mugino gets saved by Orochimaru from Victor's assistant. It's not that she is supposed to be exceptionally powerful or anything but Orochimaru straight Thanos snapped her out of existence. That scene for me marks the start of Boruto as a show finally taking the reins and going beyond what Shippudden was. It also happens to basically be the beginning of the Kara arc...

Orochimaru has been involved in the Naruto plot for so long, and he’s such a strong character. Would be really cool if Orochimaru has all the answers to help defeat the Otsutsuki, and in the end of Boruto, he answers all of the questions he set out to look for. I hope the plot in boruto is as sneaky and deep as how Black Zetsu was in Naruto
My theory is that he has at least worked with amado and knows a lot about everything to do with Kara and the ohtsutski, nobody has been asking him anything in Boruto for a long time it's bound to be revealed at some point

Orochimaru is one of the most broken characters in the entire narutoverse. I mean you could argue he's the one who discovered sage mode after Hashirama died. Jiraiya did too but a specific version of it taught to him by toad sage. It's actually crazy to think that Hiruzen went toe to toe with him and edo tensei versions of Hashirama and Tobirama who are broken characters in their own right. Is it any wonder Konoha won all 3 of the previous great Ninja Wars with guys like that coupled in with shinobi like Tsunade, Minato, Kakashi and THE ENTIRE UCHICHA CLAN.

Orochimaru quite literally might be the most op character in boruto on behalf of the leaf. Two statements made in the boruto series stood out to me.
1. Naruto states that Orochimaru is very dangerous and powerful and that even he would rather not have to deal with him. Naruto also states that Orochimaru is key in the fight against an oktsuki threat.
2. After seeing Sasuke and Naruto fight to both Boruto and Saradas shock Mitsuki says. "Your parents are strong, but not as strong as my parent." Which is interesting for that Mitsuki didn't tell jokes.
I don't think or don't know if he's stronger than Sasuke and Naruto, but he could definitely be on par with them at least

Orochimaru was always one of my favorite characters, and I felt massively underused. To the point that Hiruzen considered him more powerful than Jiriya says alot. Every time you see him fight, he never seems to be fighting seriously, even against Itachi and Pain he seemed to be just screwing around to get them to let him in. You don't get to see how awesome he is until certain parts of boruto, like his insane kenjutsu skills.
He's either hurt, or screwing around, so he seems weaker than he is. We need a true oro redemption arc, well I need one. lol

people! You are forgetting such important things! We have never seen Orochimaru fight at the height of his power, and the only two battles that we know he fought at the height of his power were against Prime Hirozen and Prime Hanzo (who were considered invincible at their time and at their peak). With no hands, when he's half dying he fights Naruto Four Tails like it's a game that amuses him (compared to Giraya who almost died in the same situation). It is known that in all the other battles we have seen him or heard about, he amused himself to see what the enemy's peak strength was and did not really try to win (even the Datta Book writes that it was his fun to witness the strength of others). In the battle against Itchi, he didn't even try to run away from the sword believing that he could beat our horse (he of course knew this broken ability and wasn't afraid of it which says a lot about his strength) and even laughed that there was no point in running away.
Unfortunately, we learned the hard way that Itsai used the most broken weapon that Kishimoto invented, so he had no way to show us the peak of his power in this battle either. But he also survived this legendary sword! And brought back to life by the crazy technique he invented himself the cursed seal. I can't stand that people think that Sasuke beat Oruchimauro, because even Sasuke and Suigito admitted that if Orochimaru wasn't sick, Sasuke wouldn't have been able to beat him alive. Another thing that shows his strength, Itachi used Tsukuyomi on him, (many people don't understand this because in the anime he has a base Chariganan) and Orochimaru managed to try to resist until his hand was cut off and then run away. Compared to Kakshi, who took months to recover and come back to himself. Ironically, Itachi was the perfect counter to Orchimaru and that's why he was so strong against him.
People forget that Orozimaru was punched barehanded by Tsunade (punches that managed to break Madara's Susano yes?), resistant to any kind of poison, paralyzed Tobi with the white mask easily, managed to summon the god of death and release souls like nothing, summon the four kage at the peak their power and control them (note that the first one will be difficult and challenging). At the end of Shipodan he already has a perfect white zetsu body, he can use wood release, all the techniques of the sound fifth including Kimimaru, Edo Tensei is perfect, there is no reason why he can't even use the technique of the second and fourth to move from one place to another in a second, Sage's option Snake mod (because he has a new and healthy body and his children can), and many other techniques we have seen and yet we have not seen their power like the great hydra.
Even Naruto when he is together with Sasuke activates kcm2 when he enters Orochimaru's cave in Baruto and says "that Orochimaru should not be underestimated and that even now he is afraid of him" - we are talking about Naruto at the height of his power together with the second strongest ninja in the world is that clear to you? Not to mention that when his son sees Naruto Sasuke fight, he tells Boruto and Sadara "Your parents are strong, but my father is stronger" in all seriousness. There is a reason that the writer left all these hints, to make it clear to us how strong he is today, and that he has another important role in the future. I still hope and expect that we will get to see the strongest Sanin at the peak of his power. Please don't underestimate my most favorite character! I have gone through all of TH-cam and there is not even anyone else who has made a video that really does the character a favor, to understand how strong she is, that she has never fought seriously or shown the peak of her strength.
I've been searching on TH-cam for years, and there is no one who has made a video that really understands the character's power, everyone underestimates, everyone doesn't really understand his power because he never fought seriously, or lost to Itachi (the most broken character in the series) and it makes my blood boil. Also, one of my frustrations with Oorochimaru is the lack of technique diversity we saw with them. I am curious about how many bodies they took over in their life time and what were the abilities of those they took over? We just get a bunch of snakes all the time, which is dope but like I know there was more lil Rochi could do. Regardless, I was incredibly terrified of lil RoRo when I was a child... they will forever be a dope character.
