That camera angle looks good to me! Very much enjoy these videos, great to have an insight into a profession I have never done. Not ruling it out in the future though.
Your method of tidying the strap 'tails' is a variation of the 'buntline hitch' that used to be used on sailing ships for coiling the rope ends on the front of sails. It is still used for tidying up large coils of rope.
Great video Luke. That camera angle looks really good . Really wish I was a lot younger as I would love to become an HGV driver. However it is great to enjoy the very next best thing and join you on your videos. Have to admit that I also follow the other legends on their videos. Stay safe and take care and look forward to the next one.
That front facing view is good with the full screen...... squirters be like, hey hey, you boys love a good one :-) When you said about the MIC it was funny, as it was cutting a little bit as you walked along. But it wasnt too bad.
Good luck Gavin. 🤙🏻 Presumably ginger Punto has done the job, and has since left the industry. Therefore it mustn’t have been for him/her. Unless of course they are still in the industry in which case it is them who is the fool, for staying in an industry they do not love.
@@lukecinahgv thank you just be in a yard shunting and being with a driver doing pallet delivery why I am training there paying for test and cpc and training there doing it we're I do not just jump into a class 1 I work my way up what's the best way 👍👍
That Croydon drop was great to see as I grew up there. That site used to have the General Accident building on it and the building to your right Was the NLA tower which is a listed building. Great memories thanks Luke safe driving.
Didn't realise that general hauliers were based at the timber yard. Having lived in S.C I had no idea even though I've gone past there thousands of times. Also was thrown by the fact it says Swindon on the side of the truck. Looking for a career change and watched your videos (not knowing you were on my door step). Great vids.
Hi Luke . I haven’t had water come off a palette . But off the top of a dry van trailer I have had 4” slabs of ice come off the top land on the road making a left turn . Had to stop and clear the road . Some guys have hit the brakes and the ice smashed the back of cab & air hoses . It’s when we have snow and it turns to ice . Some company’s have a gantry with overhead plough called a avalanche to clean the he snow off .Greetings from Canada 👍🇨🇦
Great video Luke. I was on the heavies, full time in the 70's then p/t up to 2005. I never got to drive a fully auto box, would love you to run it past us. Keep safe👍
I like a vlog that reminds me of places I have been. I’ve delivered sand to BMI South Cerney, I’ve collected tiles from BMI Leighton Buzzard and many years ago I worked in an office block by East Croydon station. 👍
Thank you Luke great video great camera work. Can not ask for more. Great thinking on your part. Be looking forward to seeing your next video. Thanks again. Take care and Stay safe and safe Trucking.
This used to happen to me often. My tactic was to get out my notebook and pen, and ask politely who they were, and everything they said write down asking them to repeat things if you missed something. Quite often it would start dawning on them how stupid they sounded. Never argue. After about a minute they would usually disappear. Now you have mobiles and dash cams, even better.I asked one guy which way I should go with my load of flashy paving, and he asked why we couldn't sent it by post.
Another cracking video Luke, love the new in cab camera angle and the back of trailer shots too! Been involved with buses and coaches for the last ten years but keep thinking about dusting my Class One off and getting back out there! Keep up the good work and keep safe! 😀
As a HGV learner, thanks for discussing the loading decisions for multi drop. Also, what is the thing in the middle of your dash against the window, with an orange rectangle in the corner?
Hi Luke recently been watching your vlogs which have been great. Trying to go down the route of HGV. What are your views on HGV if you were to be a new driver in the current climate?? Currently doing my Theory revision and Hazard Perception. Medical tomorrow to send off my D2 & D4 then this will allow to do the tests. If you can give more advice on your loads and how they are loaded this would help. Also perhaps you can do a vlog on your daily checks to allow a novice to understand what you are checking. Any vlogs which maybe of help would be most appreciated. Take Care Gary H.
I enjoyed both new camera angles, but I think the camera attached to the rear of the truck is very vulnerable to theft. Despite that it really shows how much the trailer swings. How do you check that you're not overladen? Do you get a feel for it and divert to a nearby weigh station? If you do find you are overlanden, what do you do?
Hi Luke how are you doing ? That lorry driver you spoke to might well have been my mate Graham Cochrane who also drives for AW Jenkinson. But talk about a small world 🌎 if it did turn out to be my Mate Luke. I saw him at Lathalmond Bus Museum outside Dunfermline not far from Knockhill. I was with my Brother Billy McKirdy who’s a bus driver with Lothian Buses 🚍 in Edinburgh. That was a good day out in September for us bus buffs 😆.

Woah, what a small world.

Good luck
Good luck Gavin. 🤙🏻

Another good video. How's your brother getting on? We saw his medical but nowt else yet.
Not actually sure 😂 think it may have been put on hold
OR he passed but has been waiting several months to tip at CHEP?🚚🚚
I enjoyed both new camera angles, but I think the camera attached to the rear of the truck is very vulnerable to theft. Despite that it really shows how much the trailer swings.

That was exciting
