Mercedes are the worst. They only go 70 MPH top speed they really suck I drove those only twice never again. I rather drive a Ford instead but the White RAM’s are the best.
with prime van side doors, you have to push the side door all the way back, not locked, it goes further, and then you can pull the latch to release the locks to let the door close from the inside
When I was working for Amazon back in 2019 to 2021 I actually like driving the White RAM’s way more than the shitty Amazon Vans. I always felt more quicker driving them and finishing my routes quick their transmission is just quicker and more responsive. Luckily the company I was in didn’t have Mentor yet. It was fun while it lasted on my last years.
I drove the Chevy cutaways with my old contractor at Fedex Ground. New contractor has me in the P1 and I couldn't be happier. Sitting high up, can see way more, and the turning radius is shockingly good. Never drove anything smaller like the Promaster or the Sprinter/Transit. I like the videos!
Do you work at Portland warehouse? I’m thinking of applying. I worked for UPS as a seasonal driver and I didn’t like how many hospitals and apartments and I had to deliver to. On the video he says Amazon packages are really light. How true is this?
I drive the Transit van as a shuttle for FedEx Express a lot. Sometimes I pitch in on some small town deliveries at the end of the shuttle route. I totally agree that there isn't enough room to get between the seats and through the bulkhead and the interior lights suck. I take it long distance so the driver assist features really come in handy. It can maintain it's speed really well and does great in the mountains. That manual shift option really saves the brakes. Your videos rock, keep up the good work.
@@LaosHouse in my case it means taking loads of freight to outlying little stations in the Ford transit van. My stations second from end of the line, so we typically do early sort from a semi first thing in the morning and then go to the ramp and unload a couple Cessna's for a late morning sort. Was sort fills a shuttle that goes out and supplies the small town drivers. Usually I end up taking a few deliveries out to help before turning around and heading backs home. My full time position is ramp agent/courier though. I'm helping out with the shuttle through peak and then I go back to a full time route and heading to the ramp twice a day.
When I was working for Amazon I hated driving the vans….they were just too small and your just stuck there with packages everywhere, stepvan was the way to go, hope Amazon is treating you good Chris much love bro👍
I lol’d when you skipped over the handbrake. I call it the goose. If you’re wearing shorts, there’s a chance they’ll get caught climbing out of the van if you’re not aware of it.
im a short guy and i hated the Rams. the steering wheel is stuck in one position because you cant tilt them so it forces short guys to ride on top of the wheel and be hunched all day.
Bro you are a good brand ambassador(marketer) especially for the Ford van the space is little for movement, hight, light .. I believe they have watched the video review and they shall modify the next van
I see the van you got has the heavy duty shelves. For me personally I prefer the super light shelves that slowly comes down when lowered, dont have to worry about the heavy ones slamming down almost hitting your head yikes that would be painful 😬
In the UK Amazon have only just started getting vans that have the sliding door inside the van that allows you to go into the back. Usually would just need to get out and go through the side door for parcels
I started a few days ago with a new DSP, they put me in a White Ram Promaster which I actually really like, i prefer having no shelves and theres no window in the middle side door and no cameras, I do have to use the mentor app on the work phone for speeding, hard brakes, etc.
I work for the USPS postal service and you should quit Amazon and join the city carrier assistant (CCA) then in 2 years your career (PTF) then wait for a route to open and become a regular (FTR) and make in the long term around 90k a year and stop job jumping and settle with a great retirement
You hinted about not being able to use the bathroom in the back of the ford.. i really hope that was a joke🤣 My trainer hopped out and took a leak in someones yard and I was like bro, we just delivered to a business with one.
I think it mostly has to do with not being able to get enough branded vans painted and outfitted with shelves in time for the amount of drivers some DSP need, so they rent extra vans. At my dps we have maybe 10-15 rentals and then like 40 branded vans. Also most actually prefer the rentals due to the fact they have no cameras.
@@tonycanizales4989 It depends if they getting paid on salary then ofc you want to get done quicker if your not getting paid by the hour. Mercedes sprinter push to start best van IMO plenty of room in the front to organize an entire tote and plenty of room in the back to triple stack totes and organize all your overflow easy to maneuver and backup cameras are better than the rams and fords
I hope your first peak went well for you. Apart of me wishes I just left fedex to go back to Amazon just because of the overtime, bonuses, the food trucks they have. Not to mention all the accrued time off I would have gotten. It was a wasted opportunity I’m kinda kicking myself in the head over that. It was not what I expected, It made so much more money at Amazon last year and I wasn’t forced to work 6 days… I just did it.. because they paid more for it. Maybe I’ll head back before prime week.
I worked w them for 6 months and I was okay til I start rescue 2-4 times a week and I left to get my cdl and I am making 4 times more now w way less headache
No routes are actually set some switched up at times usually you'll get one town or another town nearby just know the city is the worst for finding parking
I’ve been applying for the in person scheduled interview and they been promising me links to the one on one interviews but they never send it to me what am I doing wrong?
The Mercedes sprinters suck. There a lot smaller than the ram which is great when your loading 300+ packages. The ram and the Ford vans are solid though. Our dsp has box trucks as well which at first I hated but now I actually prefer.
Hey I heard from one of the drivers in my area that instead of putting your van in drive like you normally would , you put it in manual mode (M gear). Apparently doing so would bypass the hard acceleration detection in the van. The idea is to "trick" it into thinking you weren't stepping to hard on the gas when in reality you were. Thats how he claims he gets a perfect 1000 netradyne and 850 FICO score How true or untrue is that? I wouldn't think of doing something so thought out and elaborate as that, maybe that driver is to full of himself who really knows 🤷♂️
I have seen the electric van in Westwood the other day. Haven't seen the set up inside yet. And the white van sucks for quick deliveries... That no light in the cargo area and lack of foot room in between the seats and banging your head on the overhead... Take my promaster everyday and twice on Tuesday..... Delivering for Amazon while days might be long, at least you don't have to do pickups and lug very heavy stuff like UPS and FedEx
The ford transit prime vans are the best cargo van. More space, drives smoother, back up camera is better. Just easy to drive.
