Been to 3 with flex but only one as DSP. Btw, is that van a vauxhall/Opel? We only have ford/Merc/Merc electric in the UK. Btw, our start time can be as late as 12.30pm it sucks haha
No I work at the delivery station part time putting packages in tote bags. What's Wawa. California doesn't have wawa. How much does driver make an hour. We make 21.00 at DS.
Been watching your content for a while and it has been very enjoyable. I've showed our fleet manager and a couple of L6 and 7ths your channel. No need to worry they all enjoyed your content.
Just STARTED doing amazon DSP out here in the inland empire SOCAL finished my first week 1st day was training 75stops 2nd day and out was solo doing about 125-130 STOPS finishing in about 6 and a half 7hrs ALL RESIDENTIAL HOUSES couple businesses it’s been soo fun
Residential is pretty easy.. Stop and go really. Apartments suck.. especially those with coded entries, where there is no information about access codes, and you can't get in touch with the costumer,.. even when they request it to be delivered to their door. Then, there is the amazon locker.. which, is really cool actually!! When.. it will accept the package that is supposed to be delivered to it. If if doesn't, for whatever reason.. there is a bit of a song and dance you have to go through. If the property has an office, like an apartment complex.. you can likely drop it off there,.. but then you have to get in touch with "driver support" to confirm that the package was delivered. Returning a package is a BIG no-no with my DSP.. I had a stop today, which made no sense to me at all. It was in a tailor park.. not knocking the complex or anything. But, it was supposed to be delivered to lot 26, when it was pinned on the other side of the complex at lot 129. I tried calling them, texting them.. waited a few mins.. etc. The thing is, unless you kinda "force it" .. or go through driver support.. you cannot "deliver" a package outside of a maybe 25 yard area of the "pin".. (where its supposed to be according to.. whoever placed the "pin") Its really not a bad gig,.. I still kinda like it. Time goes by pretty fast, because your always on the move! But, .. it does have its headaches. Every job does though.. roll with the punches, and keep pushing forward..
Have you ever considered getting the A-class truck license? That would have more job options, better pay, no lifting cargo, no rushing to finish a load, overworked. You’ve probably noticed sometimes the 18-wheeler trucks waiting in line for their turn to dock at Amazon, and the drivers are napping while waiting. Examples: day driver local routes Walmart, grocery warehouses, etc.
@@73roken just take a class is less than $100. You can work a year trucking and save up and go back to a 9-5 job but not killing yourself since you have money already saved
This is an absolutely banger video Chris, coming from a driver that has a 9:30 am start time with being the 1st DSP to get on the road, it’s absolutely amazing. Route wise I average as of late about 170-180 stops with 260-300 packages. Usually out of a transit van, sometimes a CDV,(When available.) but I’m used to it so I’m fine with a regular branded van. But it depends on the day, keep up the amazing stuff! Wyatt DLT6

I was so excited to work as a driver. The other day I went to an interview and after I left, they tell me they weren’t going to move forward with my application . I was so upset and discouraged. I’m going to continue to try applying at a different dsp.. 😢 that’s literally my dream job for a while because I love delivering things for people
Oof I feel your pain back when I was trying to become a baker I almost cried lol but I kept at it and became a cake designer then left that to be a truck driver for a local hospital I guess what I'm trying to say is things might not go as planned but will work out eventually
Don't give up! Eventually you'll get your dream job. Amazon DSPs are always hiring. The company will always need new drivers and I'm sure you will do great especially since you will love what you do. We need more people like you in our world.
feet need to be dry it needs to NOT STOP or it becomes humid and miserable you have a hat to keep your head dry but if all those things are true I preferred the rain over getting beat up by the heat and sun
I love my residential routes! Give me all them stops XD. The group stops get a little annoying when they are not close but residentials are my favorite.
I'm another newbie in the mix. I had my ride-along on Friday. Yesterday and today I've been solo. It hasn't been too bad... other than me making some stupid rookie mistakes. Yesterday was interesting though. They gave me a van that was "grounded". Took a while for them to sort that one out. Soooo, my first solo day, I started out behind. lol Got through it ok though. Today, I was a little behind to begin with,.. still learning a way to sort things that works for me. Managed to finish a tiny bit early today, .. then they sent me on my first rescue route. Wasn't a big deal.. I only had to pick up a few stops to help them out at the end of the night. I did 135 stops today I think?.. Its a long drive to and from work for me. about 45 mins one way. But, its a relaxing drive. So.. I can kinda plan out things ahead of time.. loading that I might want to try.. etc.. then, I kinda get to relax on the way home. even though I'm a little tired at that point. (im old lol) I'm not as sore as I expected to be though. I feel it in my shoulders a little bit, but for the most part my legs etc are fine so far. Ohh, I've been in the rental van the past two days. Working with only the floor and the pass-seat kinda sucks.. lol Keep doing your thing man! -Me.
@12:55 The last time I was in an amazon breakroom, it was nothing but single chairs with no desks all like 5 feet away from each other, nobody talking, nothing. Super unpleasant looking.
Love your videos man was wondering how your week went during the heat wave I was dying next door in this concrete jungle glad to see you had some interesting shifts keep it up man
I agree with needing more physical buttons in vehicles. You have to take your eyes off the road to see what you're pressing on the touch screen instead of just being able to feel your way around for physical buttons. It doesn't make any sense to put touch screens into vehicles, especially since they make it illegal to use your cell phone in a vehicle. There is not much difference between using either, other than some features are not available when the vehicle is not in park. However enough features are available when the vehicle is not in park to make it extremely dangerous. Distracted driving is a huge issue and they don't seem to be making proper steps to fix the issue.

It depends on the DSP and if it's peak season. If you finish early sometimes you might have to do a "rescue" which is when you help another driver with some of their packages. If it's peak season then you can expect to be delivering for 9,10 even 12 hours. The good thing is Amazon doesn't want their drivers out past 9pm so you could possibly work 9am to 9pm sometimes.

Do you deliver until the packages are gone or until your shift is over? I just did a 3 hour block for amazon flex with 30 packages and i was gassed after that. I cant imagine doing 180 stops
@schukls993 makes sense, so you'd have a lot more packages. If I lived in Cincy I would def look into becoming a dsp, I was only there for a month to visit and decided to take up some flex routes
