@choreandawg Tommy was using his strike ball for spares, just coming up the back of it to prevent any hook, Mika was using a Hammer Axe for his spares.

cant help but think after Tommy wins and they show shots of the crowd the Japanese are saying to themselves "damn americans have won our tournament again"....lol
@prankmaster24 it's just a tape I'm guessing he wears it for a little extra wrist support but doesn't want the full effect of the supports made from the factory.

It's called a respectful culture...If you're sick in Japan, it is expected of you to try not to spread germs. In America, or really any other non-oriental country, people just couldn't care less if they make somebody else sick.
@warbowler i notice Barnes' sst8 a bit different it's white/black/red while TJ's is white/black/gold but they both look nicer compare to the black/red version. can't wait for them to reach my country

@jdurnhofer I looked it up, in 1988 Takeo Sakai won it. From 1989 on is when a PBA member has won every year since.

I love how in the US, people scream like crazy while the ball rolls; in Japan they are 100% quiet until the ball has hit the pins.

They are usually worn if you have a cold so you won't spread it around to others. Or if you have allergies as well. It's a cultural thing.
