    The incredible disappointment in 299 and the sheer excitement for 100 really did it for me. What a match.

    I've always felt worse for Mika than I did Tom, we've all had our heads bashed in by a bad game before, when absolutely nothing seems to go our way. Tom had such a great demeanor about him through it all!

    I had the chance to bowl the pro-am at Taylor Lanes in Taylor Michigan back in 2006 when I was 15 or 16 years old. The three pros that my brother and I got to bowl with were Doug Kent, Mika and Tom. Doug and Mika were two of the coolest pros I ever got the chance to meet. Tom, on the hand was beyond rude, cocky and acted like he was being put out by being there. So watching this happen live on tv made me beyond happy. Also, on a side note, Mika lived in Michigan while being on the PBA tour and loved about 15 minutes from my hometown. I ended up running in to him shortly after the pro-am at my home hockey rink for my high school team, which he was a regular at with his family because they had a gymnastics program that was also run there that his daughters were in. He actually recognized me in the lobby and took it upon himself to come up and ask me how I was doing and told me he remembered me from the pro-am and watched our hockey game for a few minutes before he left. As a teenager I thought that was the coolest thing ever that he remembered me and watched us play. From that point forward he was my favorite pro-bowler.

    As crazy as it was for Tom to throw 100 and Mika to have that heartbreaking 10 pin at the end, I think the biggest stat that gets overlooked here is a victory by 199 pins total. The odds of that EVER happening again are practically non existent.

    • @foxwolf316
      @foxwolf316 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      well it depends if the bowler was an ametuer and he has fear to be on tv in front of the camera, so who knows, it mite happen again, but I don't think 100-299 will happen again, depends on how calm the pro is and how bad the other is, so the odds are some what possible.

      Someone would have to throw intentional gutter balls on tilt, and even then it would be hard
      It would have to be like 280 vs 79

      @@EricSmyth4ChristWhy couldn't they just be totally lost, spend the entire game out of the pocket, keep getting splits and missing spares like you saw happen here? Why would anyone have to throw intentional gutter balls? By your logic, this 100 game had to be intentional.

    After seeing Daugherty's ball reaction over the first several frames, I remember thinking Mike Durbin probably would have told Daugherty to use his spare ball on the first toss of each of his remaining frames. This strategy would not have stopped Koivuniemi's freight train, but Daugherty likely would have had a respectable score, probably in the 170s.

    He knows he has no shot but Mika was still alive for a televised 300. STFU and sit down. Let the guy concentrate on the 300 and stop trying to play off the fact that you're lost by engaging him in your banter. That to me was extremely disres.

      Same here, a 240 game followed by a 140. Same ball, same line. A pro can adjust by changing ball, line or release. I’m surprised that this pro couldn’t solve it.
