Now that you have had this for four months sine you posted, how do you like the device? Is it worth the money. I want to put them on my cars in case of theft.
How long does the battery last. They said most of these trackers batteries last only a few days then you have to recharge it.
I love how airplanes were in the list of application examples. As if they aren't required to have ADS-B systems equipped already. Pretty neat device!

Was that the accuracy that you witnessed personally as well? My side×side has something like this, factory, but I'm thinking the pro-thieves probably know it's location and how to disable it. So this "stealth" tracker, well hidden, would be a great personal insurance tool.

You can go back as far as you like in the historical playback. Yes you can download the data locally. You don't need to have physical access to the GPS in order to download the historical data. You can do it from around the world on your PC or laptop.
Can you explain more how to do the continuous charging?
It is a very handy device. I am thinking of adapting it to tracking cattle, so is it possible to remodel it so that it can be firmly tagged onto the ear and secondly, to have the battery charged from a tiny solar panel because it would be a challenge to charge it from normal grid power?

Nope. Haven't done that yet! I think we have done just about everything else though.

Other than that it's pretty great, very accurate considering I live in a unwell known country. Would recommend

I know what you are asking, but I am trying to imagine how that would work in printed form. Some things are better left as moving images, such as the history playback feature which is quite amazing as it is.

There are no way to track planes over the ocean. Once you go about 100 miles from land signal will be lost because GPS is actually a ground position system through towers. No towers out in the ocean

If you want it hardwired just tuck it under the rug or seat and wire it to the 5v and if the battery can’t handle a constant just make sure it’s wired to something post ignition such as the radio or cigarette lighter
Cut the USB end off and splice it/solder behind the console/dash too I’d take my gauges out and tap it the the gauge light power
