That Fast Hitch plow on that 450 is an IH 4F-43. Dad got one when he traded the SM-TA for the 450 spring of 1965, our's had an on-land Guage wheel right behind the tractors left rear wheel, and the same non-adjustable tail wheel. A decent 450 should pull 4-14's all day in 3rd gear. Midwest Plow harrow became popular in 1966 or '67 so the 4F-43 got sold and a Case trailing 4-14 was bought to mount the plow harrow. With the fully mounted FH plow we carried 450 to 500# of weight on the front to plow. With the trailing plow no added weight needed. We also got an IH #25 FH rotary cutter or chopper, worked great chopping corn stalks, 4th gear, 6-1/2 mph, it also handled brush and small trees, anything you could drive over, something on the front of the tractor to protect the grill is recommended.

It's a shame people don't understand the law and have decency and respect. My son and I was posted on TH-cam at an auction. The person did a good job at it and it was public.
Question: What is the highest gear that you can plow in using a Farmall 400 that has a 450 motor, pulling a 1939 John Deere 3 bottom plow in decent plowing conditions?
It depends entirely on the plow. My grandpa and his brother each bought a 3 bottom Little Genius #8 plow in 1951 and W-4s to go up front. Both had similar soil conditions. Great Uncle's plow had faster turning bottoms and he was limited to second gear and Grandpa could pull his in third. The 450 have no problem handling 3 bottoms in third gear in almost any condition. But the plow is the biggest variable.
@tyfrank3427 ok. Thanks. My dad and I were at a plow day on the 13th of May this year and our H was pulling the 2 bottom little genius no problem in 4th gear. While our 400, which has a 450 motor in it, was pulling the John Deere 3 bottom in 3rd, which was the best it could do, and was going slower then every one else. I thought that since the 400 was more powerful than the H that it could keep up with a bigger plow, but the H would easily overtake it. My dad thinks it is because the engine on the 400 is more warn than the H. I just thought I'd ask about it and see what I hear and see if there are any suggestions or advice that comes up.
@@jacobramsey7624 Keep in mind, the 400 is geared different than the H. The H runs about 6 MPH in fourth gear. The 400 runs about 5 MPH in third gear and 7 MPH in fourth gear. Fourth gear is too fast to plow with the 400.

Day after the guy bought it he was out doing cultivation and somehow that tractor killed him. Devils tractor for sure.
Wow!
I believe the four bottom is a 409 plow not 100% on that.
I will look into it
I think stiner makes a fast hitch conversion
Yeah but you won't get it for auction price l o l
It's a shame that old fart had to ruin your auction day. I was looking forward to seeing you doing some Amish bidding Wooster style!
Ahahahahahahaha You don't know how much I miss R E S.
I had a good time hanging out with you there. Maybe when they have the antique tractor sale in the fall I will see you again.
They claim they run 2 auctioneers but stop all the time takes minimum 10 hours to go through everything. Been to sale too many times
Sucks I wanted to see what the 450 went for.... unless it was cheap ....
3250
@@FarmallFanatic good buy for the condition. They seem to be harder to get than the other models. I have 4 currently
@@tbishop6726 Yep were few made and sold unlike other models like the 400 and dead weight pulling guys around here scoop em up, they lug down even at idle and outpull many bigger HP tractors...
That auction company owes you an apology
My guess is that wasn't that guy's first rodeo
My dad always complained about the 400 having a small gas tank
Don't know why they were upset about your filming that clip. Obviously anyone else at the auction was able to see the IH Yard Tractor pulling the Deere 720. If a tractor is being sold as a "runner", it is being misrepresented if it's not a self-starter. Just that kind of situation can drive away potential customers.!!!
People weren't even going to see the video until after the sale
Well u have every right in what happened u had the right that’s my opinion put it there pal
At every auction, someone is going to try to slip one past the goalie. You caught them pull starting a two-lunger and they got crotchety. With so many easy starting tractors, one that doesn’t start is a non-starter for most bidders. Dude was gonna have to load it up and take it back home again in the rain which is pbly why he was a crotchety d-bag. Understandable. But he should’ve been cussing himself instead of taking it out on the on-looker with a camera.
Well we had a pretty good conversation.. mostly one way once I turned the camera off
Yep I would have given him a close up 👊
I was wondering if he was gonna get off the tractor or not by then the camera was off
Some people just don't know when to keep their mouth shut 😶😠😡🤬chances are there are security cameras around i know around here they have security cameras on the auctioneers truck and wireless ones around the site so they can monitor someone that is off in a corner messing with something in hopes they can get it cheaper there is no expectation of privacy in a public area but now everyone has seen his face lol 😅🤣😂
The auction was live on the internet
Similar circumstance once in my life. Was nice enough not to bad mouth auctioneer. Corresponded with auctioneer about a similar rule that applied to me being able to purchase items.. His excuse was that I was from out of state. He was rude with his comments back to me. Managed to get several other people interested on the subject. His review page was loaded with negative posts. All said and done it is little people who are ignorant of the law. You will have the last laugh.
I just move on to bigger and better things
@@FarmallFanatic Sometimes I need to vent a little. Most times I move on. I have learned not to let it consume my thoughts. That way no harm to me. Thanks for reply and keep those videos coming.
I wish I had that 450
It was pretty decent and it had power steering
I have seen this happen only a couple times on youtube channels at auctions.
All I can think it is older men with something to hid.
Also with very little knowledge.
Why would it matter !
Good question
All I can say he must of been embarrassed at the job he was doing seems most all the other auctioneers treat you well for show casing there auctions if I were having a sale I would want you there preveiwing the more the exposure the more the money!!!
In sales, marketing is everything
He was embarased driving with bucket that high looking for power lines.
Ahahahahahahaha
As far as that guy is pulled that John Deere You should have told him the oldest man in the world f*** **u😅😅😅
The world is full of many personalities. That guy is probably one with a short temper. Too bad though.
Should of said your wife doesn’t mind when I film her 😂
It’s sacrileges to paint a 140 blue
If these jerks will treat you like that.. their loss!!
Nice video my friend ❤♥❤❤✳✳✳✳✳✳✳✳✳✳✳✳
A very creative idea ❤❤♥❤✳✳✳✳✳✳✳✳✳✳✳✳

One of my subscribers suggested I do a Auction video. My reply was There are folks who dont want to be on camera. And I respect their wish. I dont care what the supreme court ruled or how legal it is. I think the entire Democracy thing is askew. We are not a mob rule Democracy. We are supposed to be a Republic where the God given rights outlined by the framers in the bill of rights should apply . In a Republic The rights of the few cannott be overidden by the wishes and wants of the many. Even if the Few is just one Person and the Many is everyone else. I will never video anyone without asking for permission. Just my opinion heck in 71 years old what do I know?
Whether you film them or not, they are still on camera ..the auction itself films their auctions...and are often times, live on the internet. This whole concept of I don't want to be on camera isn't reality in 2023 once you leave home.
@@FarmallFanatic Yes times change. Old folks like me dont like change. We like being pig headed stubborn and resist change. I enjoy a auction. We have bought the lions share of what we have at auctions. We even bought this corner at the annual state COSL tax forfit auction. however I will never attend any auction that charges a buyers fee. Here in the Ozarks I dont think the Auction company's film their Auctions. Ive never seen any filming myself.
@ The Collector on the Corner Well the cameras are about as big as a 50 cent piece...hard to spot
Even I feel bad for that 140... just not right, but at least it's not geene..
That's true
That guy on the 656 better lighten up because it's on film and what's wrong with filming at a farm sale to me. There is nothing wrong with that. I would have kept on filming it, and if the guy had never stopped, where you were and kept on driving, and I thought that was funny an IH pulling a john Deer way, it should be
I was done filming anyways when he said that
You need a 4 row corn planter
Yeah I do or a two row for the Super C
@@FarmallFanatic as long as it's red
Is this country side equipment carroll ohio
Yes
I've been there before not a auction that I enjoyed
@Andy Fuhrer customer service matters to me...the equipment wasn't bad though
@@FarmallFanatic you got that right
u don't have to deal with ignorant people like that , ur better than that they just lost a good customer
Yes they did
Your a better man than me! Obviously he doesn't understand technology!
It's literally the truth cameras are everywhere. It's 2023.
20:23 you need more toe power
😁
There just mad that that that 720 was being pulled by a red tractor
Pretty much
i'd buy that first 560 & that super a with the mower.. why did u stop video taping when that guy said to? ur in a public place.. if he did that to me its game on..
It was game on and then I realized how I didn't want to spend money there
@@FarmallFanatic I would not spend any money there as well
“I’m not in the market for a gasser” buys 2 gasoline tractors in 2 months
One was a replacement for the Super C I sold and the other was a Super MTA...but I'm sure you already knew that 😉
Maybe the prices turned out good because they have turned the real people off from going to them.
I still believe that it may not be what you say to me but how you say it to me. After that you better hope it rains if your on fire
Right
Gave its some class
