  • I bought the Staedtler Noris colored pencils to try out because they are endorsed by Johanna Basford for use in her coloring books. Let's see how well they do in Johanna's Christmas.

      @@bubblegumxlqverneherewewil6675 You can create a very good layer for creating colours. I love so much hard pencils, because I want to have a regolation of saturation and intensity. They're very hard, so you can have a super-precise result. But the best thing is you can erase them with knitted erasers. Of course you can blend them, layering the pigment. They aren't normal pencils.

    I actually love this brand because of its lightness. it doesn't go too dark, which makes it easier for me to colour, but if I do want dark colours all I have to do is add more and more colours each time.

    On more textured paper I find these colours go on super well. I like lighter colours, too bright is the devil for my eyes. I love how they blend and they make good lineart too. With colouring book paper it probably wouldn't be as good though

      @@riccardosbalchiero7345 I can get just as good results with Prismacolor Verizon which are my go to when I need fine details.

    The two top art suppliers in Germany are Faber Castell and Staedtler. These pencils were a huge disappointment. They are very hard and lack in pigment load. But working some more with them I found them to be superior for anything with small details. I treat them like oil based pencils, follow the first coat up with watercolor pencils and then change to pencils with better chroma. For fine details great but otherwise lacking.

    I have quite a few different brands of pencils and I like these least of all. That’s why I looked for a review to see if it was just me. I have a set from Amazon Guang Hui is on the pencils and they are much better than these. Oil based and blendable! I use them when just messing about colouring. I prefer Prismacolor so far.

    ALL the Staedtler pencils/markers had Joanna Basford's endorsement. The best are the Ergosoft. The ones you review are the cheapest.

    I like to use noris and noris club together the noris club are a bit stronger so the ordinary noris I use for blending I am going to try the noris ergosoft too❤

    they are too light, or I have to press too much, thing that I dont like

    • @GraceAndLotties
      @GraceAndLotties  7 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I agree that they are light and if I want dark color I have to press a lot harder than I want. I did, however, find that they layer better than I would have expected and have gone back after a spray of fixative and can darken them a bit more without creating a hand cramp.

    I found these at Hobby Lobby, on clearance for $2.50. I was so excited! I got them home and 😒. They were scratchy and not creamy and didn’t blend... blech! You get what you pay for and I’ve learned my lesson. I’m surprised Joanna put her name on that box. I love to collect art supplies and I gave this box away, lol.

      Tayohni -- meeeeeee toooo - hate them. Glad to see it isn't just me. I got them at a fantastic deal at Michael's though. They were $10 on sale AND I got a VERY very thick coloring book free. That's the only reason I am not too peeved at how bad these pencils are. What pencils do you like?
