+Lisa Hock, thanks for the suggestion...I've heard this before and I'm glad to hear it from you as well. Maybe that pretty little pencil will sneak into my next Amazon order 😉
Lisa Hock I was thinking about picking one of those up. My white prismacolor arrived to me with the wooden barrel split halfway down the pencil. Some of my other prismas are splitting to.
I'd just like to say i'm SUPER appreciative and greatful for all of these videos you do, you put so much time and energy and care into testing art supplies and finding the best ones, and it shows! it saves us a LOT of time, money, and frustration and it's awesome knowing I have you as a resource before I go art supply shopping
I must have gotten through hundreds of derwent coloursoft pencils, the pigmentation is brilliant. For amateurs like me, they really help to show different tones and gradients. Great video!
Thanks for another informative video I kinda discovered blending with a white pencil on my own accidentally and I use it sometimes more than a colorless blender due to the fact that the blender pencil does more of pushing the pigment deeper into the paper than mellowing the color out. But they sure still one of my new best friends lol
I think there might be some user bias sticking the Prismacolors into the top 3. The Caran D'Ache Pablo has both a nicer gradient and a more even colour by the look of your swatches.
+cddewey, thanks for your feedback. I’m going to do a follow up video soon and I think I will do more coloring with each of the top 10 plus another entry that I purchased. Should be interesting.
You make such awesome comparison videos. I know they take a lot of time and I appreciate it. I was surprised about the Derwent coloursoft. I have a few of those that I love but no white. This was very interesting!
Bruynzeel is a really famous art brand here in the netherlands. They have all sorts of art supplies and it’s pretty affordable. allot of students get their graphite pencils if they want something good for art class.
That was a very interesting, informative video. I always blend with my white prismacolor or Polychromos but I will definitely be buying the Caran d"Ache Luminance and giving it a go. Thanks for sharing.
Can't help but notice that the trio of colors and that blue you use at the end to demonstrate blending look like they'd be perfect for coloring a charizaed.
Please try Faber Castel Albrecht Dürer..they are Walter Color Pencils...but my favourite of all. Plus for me is sharpening a big point that is why I don't like the Prisma Color
+moscha perle, yes I agree about the points of the pencils...especially when doing detailed work. I would love to try those Albrecht pencils. I will move onto water soluble pencils when I'm done reviewing these.
I love this review and the hints. I just ordered some white Caran D’Ache white open stock. I love my Polychromos but not the white so much. This will help.
Some information on Bruynzeel pencils. Bruynzeel pencils is owned by Sakura, the company that makes GellyRoll pens and Pigma Micron pens. The Bruynzeel pencil that you tested is from the Super Sixties set which are the same pencils as Marco Raffine. The Bruynzeel Design pencils are the same as Marco Renior pencils. But the Marco pencils are available in larger sets than the Bruynzeel,.
I actually found out when I was poking around the internet, researching the Marco Renoir pencils before I bought them. The Marco Renoir pencils have the same numbering, font, barrel and core as the 48 (largest) set of Bruynzeel Design , plus of course, the Renoir pencils come with an extended amount of pencils, up to 100 ct. I got the Marco Renoir 100 ct set from Amazon. The Bruynzeel Pencils are marketed as more high end, with smaller more targeted pallets, with an upscale box on the Design pencils, its a sturdy cardboard box like the Caran d'Ache Luminance box, but has drawers with foam inserts with spots for each pencil, cradling them in the drawers. But, they are sourced from the same manufacturer of pencils as the Marco Renoir pencils. Also, the same goes for the Super Sixties set matching the colors, barrel and cores of the Raffine pencils, 44 of the 72 colors available in the Marco Raffine line and the set of 12 Marco metallic pencils, plus 2 graphite drawing pencils, a sharpener and eraser bringing the set up to 60 items in the Bruynzeel Super Sixties tin.
+Melissa Fisk makes me wonder if the China company Marco was copying the Sakura Bruynzeel company or are they indeed affiliated? Hmmmm. China has a habit of knocking off products.
The Bruynzeel pencils are now made in China, but still bear the Holland name on them because that's where Royal Talens, the original owner of Bruynzeel pencils, is from. I am guessing for some reason Sakura was allowed to keep the Holland name. Maybe because Holland is now a nick name/historical name for The Netherlands and not it's actual place name? The new pencils, made in China, are still widely available in The Netherlands and is still a favored local brand. They are the same pencils as the Marco pencils, as they are sourced from the same manufacturer in China. That particular manufacturer of pencils in China sources a lot of cheaper pencil sets (Raffines) that you see on Amazon. And, I suspect, the Crayola Escapes pencils are also re-branded Marco Raffines. Although, I haven't bought a set of Crayola Escapes to test this out since I have enough sets of cheaper color pencil sets, as I am sure a lot of us do..lol. It is not uncommon for a manufacturer of colored pencils to make them for more than one brand. I have tested and confirmed ,for myself, that Koh-I-Noor pencils are the same pencils as Blick Studio colored pencils from Dick Blick. ETA: Some of the Bruynzeel pencils sets are available on the Dick Blick website, and some of the Bruynzeel Design pencils are available as open stock.
Actually, Sukura acquired this with Royal Talens in 1991. They also own Rembrandt (as in oil paints, water colors and pastels) as well as many other brands. You can check their history on the website. The following is from Royal Talens website. (I always believe in giving credit where credit is due.) Check them out: www.royaltalens.com/en-gb/ Bruynzeel Since 1948, the Dutch company Bruynzeel has been supplying top quality writing, colouring and hobby products for the home, school and offices. With its wide product range, Bruynzeel provides an answer to every functional or creative question; whether this involves expressing your imagination through drawing, colours and painting or learning to write in a sound manner.
Fantastic review and comparison ! I too consider white my favorite color of pencils. I use my prismacolor white for most projects. I love what the Derwent and especially the luminance can do.Thanks for enlightening me !
Thank you, Jennifer, for raking the time to compare so many different pencils for us! I do have a question, though. Did you test any of the Staedtler pencils? If so, where did they fall in the grand scheme of things? I do love my Prismas. I have the small set of Derwent flesh tones, which literally take my breath away.
My opinion is that the crayola twistable is much worse than the cra z art one. I also believe the prismacolour isn't quite as good as some of the honourable mentions. I love prismacolour pencils don't get me wrong I just think you got a better gradient with the others
Grim Hood sameee! prismacolor pencils should be in the honorable mentions because is really perfect! I have tried with other colored pencils but the prismacolor is the better pencils
Awesome I love colored pencils and collecting as many brands as I can. So glad to own all 3 top picks you mentioned. Also this video helped me decide what brands to use for dark colored paper
+Cassie Corral, I know! It made me want to order that gorgeous strathmore toned paper. I must resist the urge to let that paper slip into my Amazon cart! 😉❤️
+connie ulrich, unfortunately that's not one of the many set I that I have in my studio right now. I will see if I can bring it in sometime in the future.
I'm glad I found Your video, I got so fed up with not finding a strong white pencil, that I ended up buying a few chalk pencils called "Stabilo" CarbOthello, it also helps me to lighten colors that I can't seem to find either- like very pale lavenders, but sometimes it doesn't mix too well with very waxy pencils like Prismacolor :/
I was so surprised when I purchased the Derwent coloursoft. I’m not the most experienced with coloured pencils but finding I use them as my finisher pencil. I have the Caran D’Ache and use them all them time. Might need to buy more prisma colours! 😂😂 You should update this video. I’d love to see how the Derwent Lightfast stack up?
+Carmelle Lapointe, very good question...I was pondering 🤔 recording a similar video dedicated to the black pencils. Do you think this would be helpful to you?
Coloring Pages Bliss I'm 14, but I do art as well having a 48 set of the premier and 24 sets of the verithin. the individual colored pencils and sets , I can't denied the fact how affordable the Prismacolor are to get compared to polychromos and lluminanc sets and individual cost being expensive to buy.
Thank you for testing the white pencils on black paper and the demonstration of blending colors with white. You go to a lot of trouble to help us improve our use of colored pencils.
Thanks so much for this test...it is a much needed comparison. I had to laugh, because my "lists" were identical to yours, except for one...I switched the Prisma Premiere and the CD Pablo. I had been using Prismas since I was a teenager and first got started (I'm 60 now) and I always loved them passionately! However, when the company changed hands and the pencils I bought to replace my original set started to constantly and consistently break.( I put them in the microwave, I put them in the freezer..grrr)...my love affair was OVER. Yes, the intensity is nice...but I was spending twice what I would have before because of the unbelievable waste when the pencils would break. So...I switched and now have a set of Polychromos AND a set of Coloursoft. Yes...the rest of the Coloursoft pencils are as beautiful as the white..you will totally enjoy them. I have heard wonderful things about the Caran D'ache Lumi's....and although there is no way I can afford a full set (yea, right....waaaay out of my budget right now! lol) I think I WILL purchase one of the white pencils. I use white for so many things. Again...thank you for helping me to make that "white pencil" decision! lol God Bless!!! One of my favorite channels! (FYI....I still do USE my Prismas....when I color in books and need to take something with me, I know that I will get a nice result with the constant worry about accidentally breaking my loved Polychromos! I will continue to use them until I use them up. No need to waste a good colored pencil!
Great comparisons. I'm planning to invest into the Polychromos. I don't like Prisma, they break too easily and I have had the leads fall out of the body of the pencil. I heard from another source that the Caran d Ache white was a great white pencil. I'll probably do what you said, invest into a small set of the Caran d Ache to get the white pencil.
Great video. Polychromos pencils are my favorites. Can you use the Prismacolor White with them since they are oil based and the Prismas are wax based? Please keep making these videos. I've learned so much from you.
+Jenn Palmtree...yes I do! I'm hoping to bring in a few more requested brands if pencils first and then I will film a video dedicated to black pencils...which I LOVE and use all the time.
I really like these compare/contrast videos, but I really wish you had a set of Thornton's Art Supply pencils. These are the ones I use most of the time because my Prismacolors lay down too much color in each layer for my tastes.
I know this was from 3 years ago, but I am surprised to see you missed my go-to White Pencil the Holbein White. I cannot say enough good things about it...It is like the Mercedes Benz of white pencils to me...lol... I would love to see you do another one of these adding some new pencils like Black Widow, Schpiererr Farben, Castle, Derwent Chinese White & others...
Jennifer thank you so very much for your awesome videos. So helpful to me. I'm just starting out coloring and you have helped me so much. I have stumbled on to a white pencil I like Walnut Hollow white 9007. Have you tried that one? Thank you so much again
Do you think that the Spectrum color blend didn't work so well is because its really to be used for blending and not over power the colors it is to blend? You should definitely do the blackest black of colored pencils.
I was thinking of asking the same thing but not just with spectrum. Obviously when how it lays down is poor quality, the softer white pencils won’t do so well for blending. And when it’s really creamy, it seems evident that blending it would be much easier. So maybe that’s why Prismacolor white is a goto for blending pencil colors. However, I know that when I use my prisma colorless blending pencil, it just doesn’t blend the colors as well as the white prisma pencil does though supposedly it would seem that the creaminess minus the color would be optimal. But it’s just not. So some discussion on blending with colorless blending pencils vs. white pencils might be enlightening.
I have the Prismacolor Premier 132qty. I’ve been using Prismacolor for at least 20 years. I’ve had at least 3-4 sets. I want Caran d’Ache Luminance, Derwent Inktense and Faber Castel Polychromos. I really love watching your comparison videos. I’ve been drawing since I could hold a crayon/pencil. Edit: The lion in my profile picture I drew when I was 15.
For those who are checking this video out, I checked at the Dick Blick's website and you can buy the Caran D Ache Luminance White pencil all by itself! The Luminance lineup is finally open stock!
Great video! Thank you! Another great white pencil is; Derwent Chinese White - 7200 - $2.09. I buy them from Blick. Here's the product number and price.
+Murf Nik, ah yes, the Holbein pencils are in my Amazon cart waiting for their turn to come home to my studio. Hopefully soon I can do a follow up to this video.
Oddly enough, I though of a good use for the low picks. If you use black cardstock or lay down some black gesso or chalkboard paint, you can use them to create a chalkboard effect. A layer of lighter color around the edges, and lettering or designs in the center. That translucent, rough quality would be perfect for it.
Well, I was about to invest in one of the winner pencils, but found out they all get a lot more expensive to me because of shipping. The faber castell polychromos ended up at 5.29$ while the caran d'ache luminance one went up to 8.29$ and prismacolor is at 10.37$... The others had prices in between those. But I've found out that it works pretty well to use the derwent white tinted charcoal, which came with a set of charcoal pencils that I got a while ago. It's really pigmented and easy to blend, since it's almost like a pastel, but it does smudge easily.
Yeah, stuff gets really expensive when you add on the shipping xD The pastel-like pencil I use is pretty pigmented, but it gets used up really quickly because I have to sharpen it a lot, so I have to find out if they sell them separately without the charcoal pencils included, because I don't use that much charcoal xD
I'm surprised you didn't use the Derwent Drawing white, it's a very nice pencil. It almost feels like an oil pastel but I like it a lot for final highlights. Although it's very thick and soft, so you wouldn't want to use it for very fine details. The Luminance pencil is my pencil of choice for that. :)
What would be a good and cheap white pencil for a younger artist? My current white pencils don't layer well, but I can't afford the "super cool" brands.
Bruynzeel design is their artist grade pencils. They have graphite, pastel, watercolor and colored pencils in this line that one might make it into your top 3.
Although not a true colored pencil if one wants a real bright white for their art, I choose General's White Charcoal pencil. It is the brightest white one can get in pencils.
Damn I wish we had the prices you guys get in the US. Australia is very expensive in comparison except strangely the Luminance. Usually double unless I buy 150 set of Prismas from Amazon US where I pay a third of what we price them here. Then often add ridiculous postage. 😏 Can't wait for Amazon to come here in a few months. I have the Luminance and Prismas along with a few others you have and while Luminance is fabulous I have to say you guys are spot on saying for the price difference I'd go Prismacolor white. I've been using it as you did Jennifer to blend my colours for a while now and it's great isn't it? Thanks again for another great video. I learn a lot from you 😘🌹
I’m a prisma color guy i love prisma color but i think the derwent colour soft and the prismacolor tied at all because i see the derwert one very pigmented and i also want to try them now 😂 I haven’t tried them and this the first time i saw a review for colour soft and it is really interesting 🤔
Every time I watch one of your videos I learn something new. I have been using wax pencil (can't think of the name)to blend, ans I go through them pretty fast depending on the image size I am coloring. The white pencil for blending is a fab idea! Thank you for all the hard work you put into doing these videos.
Yeah, I have a bunch of prismacolors. I like their pigmentation, but the waxy surface means a lot of work to blend them. Needs a solvent or a blending pencil and a lot of elbow grease.
Derwent Drawing Chinese white is highly pigmented. you might want to try that one.
+Lisa Hock, thanks for the suggestion...I've heard this before and I'm glad to hear it from you as well. Maybe that pretty little pencil will sneak into my next Amazon order 😉
I just was to say the same, actually I have both the Luminance and the chinese white, and.... The derwent is whiter!!!!
Lisa Hock I was thinking about picking one of those up. My white prismacolor arrived to me with the wooden barrel split halfway down the pencil. Some of my other prismas are splitting to.
+pichum4st3r, oh that's frustrating. I have a scholar prismacolor that is splitting a little. Very discouraging.
I'm with you Lisa!
+Donna Fluty, that's awesome that you discovered it on your own! Art is so fun...just experiment and see what happens.
What a great project... My fav Luminance & polychromos
So many moons.
You make such awesome comparison videos. I know they take a lot of time and I appreciate it. I was surprised about the Derwent coloursoft. I have a few of those that I love but no white. This was very interesting!

I have the Prismacolor white, too, but ordered the Luminance white and love it, but have not experienced much difference between them.

+moscha perle, yes I agree about the points of the pencils...especially when doing detailed work. I would love to try those Albrecht pencils. I will move onto water soluble pencils when I'm done reviewing these.
I feel like the Twistables should've been lower than the Spectrum.
Can you do the best black colored pencil test?
You can also try the notoriously rare holbein pencils. They have a hard and soft white for blending and the soft and so white. Try it!
I love this review and the hints. I just ordered some white Caran D’Ache white open stock. I love my Polychromos but not the white so much. This will help.

Fantastic review and comparison ! I too consider white my favorite color of pencils. I use my prismacolor white for most projects. I love what the Derwent and especially the luminance can do.Thanks for enlightening me !
Another great video. You made me realize I need to swatch out all my colors on both white and black.
+Francine D, it is a great way to see the colors. This test really made me want to create art on something other than white paper. 💙💚💜
Thanks for your beautifully designed tests. They are quite helpful.
+Gadget Girl66, I believe there was a Staedtler 1270 in the group and it fell into the middle of the pack. Thanks for watching.
My opinion is that the crayola twistable is much worse than the cra z art one. I also believe the prismacolour isn't quite as good as some of the honourable mentions. I love prismacolour pencils don't get me wrong I just think you got a better gradient with the others
Grim Hood yeah at least u can get a little of depth with the crazarts while the crayola twister barely colores

Great review! Do you have a favorite black pencil?
+Carmelle Lapointe, very good question...I was pondering 🤔 recording a similar video dedicated to the black pencils. Do you think this would be helpful to you?
+Coloring Pages Bliss 🤔🤔🤔🤔
Prismacolor premier white always my favorite white colored pencil
Joshua Vargas same I definitely with black
+Joshua Vargas, isn't it beautiful!!?? And for the price per pencil...it's hard to justify spending 4 times the cost for the Luminance.
+Joshua Vargas, amazing how much the prices have dropped on my wonderful prismacolor. So awesome.
Thank you for testing the white pencils on black paper and the demonstration of blending colors with white. You go to a lot of trouble to help us improve our use of colored pencils.
I have your number 1 pick. I love it!!! It's so incredible.
Thank-you! This was so helpful to me!
If you can get your hands on derwent drawing Chinese white you might really enjoy it. I like it as much as luminance. Thanks for the video.
+Dee S, high praise! I will check it out, thanks. 😊
This video was more like try not the get satisfied , very helpful and great video.
The circles look like moons
Could you try to find or try out colored pencils and pens/markers that works and are opaque on black paper??
Thanks so much for this test...it is a much needed comparison. I had to laugh, because my "lists" were identical to yours, except for one...I switched the Prisma Premiere and the CD Pablo. You make the greatest videos. So helpful!!
+Cassia Dee, you're so kind! Thanks for watching.
Thanks for your helpful review. I have a few whites. Including a Conte pastel pencil, but I have to be careful how I apply it.
+Pat E, oooo pastel pencils...another fun art tool that I won't let myself buy yet because I know I'm going to fall in love 😍
I need that stencil you're using, lol. Great video:)
Thank you for this great test!
Love my caran d'ache luminance white, but it's so expensive for the one pencil, hoping to find a more affordable one from here
Great video. Polychromos pencils are my favorites. Can you use the Prismacolor White with them since they are oil based and the Prismas are wax based? Please keep making these videos. I've learned so much from you.
+Rae Addington yes you can! You can also use the prismacolor colorless blender with your Polychromos. Have fun experimenting.
Do you have any plans to do this with black pencils? Great vid, great idea.
+Jenn Palmtree...yes I do! I'm hoping to bring in a few more requested brands if pencils first and then I will film a video dedicated to black pencils...which I LOVE and use all the time.

Which is the best white pencil to use over Promarkers to do highlights and degradé?
I know this was from 3 years ago, but I am surprised to see you missed my go-to White Pencil the Holbein White.
I cannot say enough good things about it...It is like the Mercedes Benz of white pencils to me...lol...
I would love to see you do another one of these adding some new pencils like Black Widow, Schpiererr Farben, Castle, Derwent Chinese White & others...
We are planning on doing some fun colored pencil battles in 2021. My collection has grown!!
I was waiting for the Caran d’Ache pencil LOL.
What is your favorite sharpener for colored pencils?
Great video. The Prismacolor white is awesome for the price.
+carmen l, thanks for watching. I think you can get that white prismacolor even cheaper if you buy it on Amazon and in bulk. Pretty cool.
Jennifer thank you so very much for your awesome videos. So helpful to me. I'm just starting out coloring and you have helped me so much. I have stumbled on to a white pencil I like Walnut Hollow white 9007. Have you tried that one? Thank you so much again
+Susan Neidlinger, I haven't tried that one. There are so many awesome art tools...so much Fun! Thanks for watching. 😊
Loved all the info. . Thanks for sharing . . 😎 😎 😎
Hello jen what are your favorite white markers or pens ?
I cant find a truly white marker.
I am not Jen--but try Gelly Roll white pens by Sakura.
You should do one for black
+Nightmare Luna, that's the plan! 👍
INTERESTING, SUPER FANTASTIC INFO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
P.S. where do/did you find your stencils?
+Lynne Bailey, these stencils I got over 15 years ago for my son to use. Does that make them antiques?😉 lol wish I could help you more.
Very interesting this test.
Please can you list the link to the trio video?
Great video! Thank you! Another great white pencil is; Derwent Chinese White - 7200 - $2.09. I buy them from Blick. Here's the product number and price.
Thank you. Very informative.
thank you. I love your videos. awesome. I appreciate you
How about drawing pencils of Derwent? Have you ever test them? I want to know too much.
I don't see the Holbein white in your swatches; they're supposed to be really excellent so I wonder how they would match up.
+Murf Nik, ah yes, the Holbein pencils are in my Amazon cart waiting for their turn to come home to my studio. Hopefully soon I can do a follow up to this video.
Cool! I love my Polychromos and wish I would afford a set of the Holbein. $$$$$
Crayola twistables is by far the worst
I thought the same
I think it’s the spectrum color blend one
That’s what I saw, too, the Crayola were just awful.
My favorite was the derwent. I would buy this one. And I really do not see any big differences between the pablo and the luminance.
did you try different surfaces?
Oddly enough, I though of a good use for the low picks. If you use black cardstock or lay down some black gesso or chalkboard paint, you can use them to create a chalkboard effect. A layer of lighter color around the edges, and lettering or designs in the center. That translucent, rough quality would be perfect for it.
I completely agree with your three top white pencil's choice! About the Luminance wowwww! Amazing bright 😱
+Cris Costa, isn't it pretty!!! So much fun!
can you label the ones that are waxy?
Do you prefer a white pencil or a blender pencil?
Both! Each has their place. White gives a lovely dreamy effect and the colorless blender will brighten the colors.
+Wel wow! That’s outrageously expensive! I’m glad you found an alternative that works for you.
+Wel, have you tried sharpening with a knife or on sand paper to save as much product as possible? Good luck!
Hm, sandpaper does seem like a good idea, I'll try that out sometime!
Having used a polychomos white I can honestly say I am not surprised faber-castell didn’t make top 3
u should do vedios to the other colors
I use white a lot for blending too
+Nanci Vessells, it's so fun to have so many different ways to blend...art is endlessly amazing!
How about maped withe pencil
Great info!
Caran d' ache luminance? Wtf 4.09$ per pencil?! Thats hella expensive
Yes it man they are great
Yes but they are great
This is really helpful 😊
Thanks. Very helpful
+Ramo, I'm getting lots of recommendations for the Derwent drawing white pencil. I can't wait to try it! Thanks for watching and commenting. 😊
What would be a good and cheap white pencil for a younger artist? My current white pencils don't layer well, but I can't afford the "super cool" brands.
+Sylphlez, online you can order a single white prismacolor premier pencil for very cheap now. That's what I would recommend. 😊👍
Coloring Pages Bliss
Thanks for responding!!
I love Derwent and Faber-Castell better than Prisma. I love the way they lay down...your the reason I also indulged in the Tombow "dictionary".
+sandy vaughan, awesome! So many fun tools to play with 👍
I have a blender pencil, love the thing.
I used to use my white. But good quality whites actually leave color behind.
Good point.
Great video
Arent Twistables crayons though ?
+Stephen Pat, there are two kinds of Crayola twistables...crayons and colored pencils. This video features me testing the colored pencil line.
they also come in pencils, but mostly, yes.
Stephen Pat some packages say color pencils
I enjoy your informative videos.
Twistable is a crayon. I love your videos!!!
+Cierra Whitlock, Crayola makes twistsble crayons and twistable colored pencils. The ones I'm testing here are their twistable colored pencils.
Coloring Pages Bliss ok, the only ones I've heard of are crayons so that's cool
+Cierra Whitlock, yeah...there are so many fun products to try. I LOVE art!
I learn a lot from you 😘🌹
+Lo, that's good to hear that you will have amazon soon! I'm glad you liked my video. It was really fun to film.
I have a helix colour pencil pack and the white in it is holy moly but i hate the pink lol its so less pigmented
+Tammy Horner, so glad I could give you a new idea to try. Have fun coloring and let me know how it goes for you.
I would've picked the caran d' ache over the prismacolor. I don't like their waxy build up. Just my opinion.
Yeah, I have a bunch of prismacolors. I like their pigmentation, but the waxy surface means a lot of work to blend them. Needs a solvent or a blending pencil and a lot of elbow grease.
