When you connect the ground, it will spark and batteries can sometimes produce an explosive gas that surrounds them. When introduced to a spark, battery go boom and you are now wearing battery acid. Having the battery in the trunk with jump points under the hood is a safety feature for the majority of people that are fine with grounding at the battery. BMW did not do this to be an inconvenience. A rear battery also makes sub and speaker wiring much easier.
Random tip for anyone reading, if you absolutely have to break your window, do NOT break your quarter glass. Its a hell of a lot more expensive to replace vs a drivers window

You are mistaken .Another point : we don't climb up under a vehicle, we crawl under a vehicle and thats what i said in my previous post . In my car that's impossible too , as I also said , and the reason is that the ground clearance is too low to even fit my huge arms or shoulders under it to pop the hood open ..On most foreign and many American makes and models there is no mechanism under the hood to pop a door open and I was also referring to that problem on my car . You were able to do that on your Pontiac Sunbird ,that's good , but not all GM makes and models allow for that .New luxury cars are almost all keyless entry and there is no way to use any key to get in when battery is dead , let alone use a key when battery is good. The trunk or door can't open from any latch under the car. No joke ,no pun .
Just cause the battery is dead doesn't mean the central locking system won't work. That's why there are key holes outside the car on the driver and passenger side doors, in case the fob or car battery dies.
Just so you know you're supposed to jump start the vehicle from under the hood. Not directly at the battery. The reason BMW did this, is because when the battery is being charged and or jumped it produces a very explosive gas called hydrogen. To prevent batteries from exploding they put the battery in the trunk and the jump start connections under the hood. No the jump start connections are not obvious. But future reference. The guy performing a walkout should unlock the hood. So you can have access to give it a jump.

Buy an antigravity lithium ion battery. They are typically 80% lighter than stock, they're more powerful, they last longer, AND they have a remote you can use to jumpstart your vehicle. Once the battery starts to get really low, it basically saves enough power to start your car and won't die. They cost about as much as a premium lead acid battery and mine weighs under 5 pounds.
This is why cars that need transponders to even unlock your door with the physical key is the dumbest inconvenience ever conceived. IDC if it’s for anti theft, if batteries die or go bad, your own car is inaccessible to you and even if it’s rare, I’d rather not deal with it.
You can unlock your bmw if you remove the rear license plate light in the trunk, strip the wires and power them and it automatically unlocks your bmw, the same wires that power those lights power the lock actuators
Pro tip. Drill a hole in the bottom of your floor put a rubber grommet in the hole you drilled. Attach a wire to the trunk release and have it barely stick out of the hole. Problem solved no more broken windows.

4. You jump BMWs under the hood, not at the battery. You are not supposed to jump batteries at the ground terminal.
The battery was dead ... Meaning no electronic signals will do anything. He also mentioned the mechanical key wasn't working.
Damn so glad its even easier with a Tesla. Lol.
He just did to make a video .... poser
Just drill out the lock and replace the lock stupid as f
@@demonicravergaming.4766 The rest still applies, and there was no need to break that panel to the trunk or rear windows
More and more I love my older cars. 91 Ford explorer, 99 f150, and 94 Dodge spirit
Random tip for anyone reading, if you absolutely have to break your window, do NOT break your quarter glass. Its a hell of a lot more expensive to replace vs a drivers window
This guys an absolute genius as we can all tell
You know the sensor key with the lock and unlock button you can take that apart and there is a key inside to easily unlock your car
I was thinking this as well, but I dont have a bmw so im not 100%
Look at the key when he actually starts the car. He is already using a key and this car doesn’t even have keyless entry/start. Damn bro what ya smoking
Don’t talk before you learn about these cars first off it’s a mechanical lock that’s connected to a power switch so even if you turn the key in the lock without power it won’t do anything and second off when the car is locked you can even unlock the doors from the inside the only way to jump this car without doing what he did was to go under the front drivers side wheel well and jump it that the jump point there
@nickswenk7976 sorry Nick thats not true, I have an X3 and a E90 and literally I had to jump start my E90 and I'm able to open my door with the fisical key, and there are terminals in the front of the car.
@@luispedroescobedo2878And this was a design flaw on specific models. I got rid of two different vehicles because of this exact issue. Imagine telling someone they don't know what they're talking about when they obviously know more about the topic at hand. 😂

And it’s right above the lock he was trying to open 🤦♂️
@@PorkyPIGGhe just had to pull the inside handle too, pulling on the flag doesn't unlock the door.
@@kievbutcher it does on my car, and the door handle on my dads truck doesn’t unlock it so the flag would still need to be pulled 😂
They have to pull the driver handle twice quickly lol. I do Roadside service lockouts this is hilarious. 😂
Include this on the 12 facts about BMW
why didn't he just use the physical key? It would work even if the battery is dead because it is mechanical and doesn't require electricity to open
So he can make a vid and get stupid comments😂
Why didn’t you pop the hood once you got into the car? There are positive and negative jump posts in the engine bay.
I had an 04’ 325…. Battery is in the trunk. Fuckin German engineers..🤦🏿♂️
There are still jump posts under the hood. @@jamesyhardeman4729
@jamesyhardeman4729 just because the battery is in the trunk or under the back seats or something dumb like that they also have battery posts in the engine bay normally
@@davidaix5771you can jump it from under the hood, dudes just a moron. I have one
My experience with all the BMWs that If the cars really dead the voltage points ain’t good good enough and it’s best to jump straight to the battery
BMW: "Break My WINDOW!"😂
That window break wasn’t necessary. It was personal!
1. Use key to unlock door.
2.pop the hood and use the provided jump start terminals....
I was looking for this comment lmao 😂 he shouldn’t own a bmw
This guy just proved that BMW = Break my window!
Smashing the most expensive window first is wild
I have to buy a new battery almost every year for my x3. Last bmw i will ever own.
Mechanics love this dood
Never that windows brother !! 🤦🏽♂️😂
I’ll be honest that’s actually pretty clever thinking in terms of BMW Security and Anti-Theft.
I'm sure most people drain the battery for security reasons everyday. Wow what a feature 😂
bro dont have brain cells that he broke the first Window expesive one than other windows 😭
Everyone complains until the car gets stolen BMW has the best car protection system
Just don't live in cali
There are jump points under the bonnet tool
How you going to open the bonnet from outaside the car jackass jump it from the starter easiest way
My 2006 325xi has an easy little removable door hatch on the rear seat big enough to fit my hand
broski had that ring light like he was carrying it before the car got "locked"
I’ve had 2 of these cars, dealt with battery issues all the time, and never had to break a window. Plus you broke the most expensive one! I lost brain cells, thanks bud.
Hey jackapp you can pop the hood with a 1/4 extension and then there’s jump points by the passenger strut tower. This is for all bmws
All cars are literally designed to be unlocked with a KEY!!!!! No matter if power is out!
Nope , not true , most luxury cars and some non luxury vehicles are keyless entry and don't use keys at all , just a dongle remote . You'll need to rethink your proclamation. I have keyless entry too, when battery dies, I've got a big problem. No, there are no door handles on the car ,no key inside the handle like other vehicles .
@@maculuscarpeneli4585damn that sucks. and i take it you cant climb under the car and pop the hood from underneath like older cars...
@@10-eproductions25 No, impossible to "Climb " under the car, but that's true of your vehicles too. This comment thread is about getting into a locked car without keys , you'll want to learn more about that before "Climbing " up other topics .
@@maculuscarpeneli4585 ive climbed under a few of my cars to pop the hood. had a sunbird where the cord to the hood popper thing broke. had to go under the car to pop the hood. had to figure a way to pop my trax hood because i needed the jump pack the battery to open my car doors. (i lost my fob insert key.)
also, avoid the puns. they dont seem to work for yoy.
@@10-eproductions25 Puns work perfectly for me ,I'm very funny , but I didn't make any puns in my previous posts . None .
No Full Protection LOL
The speaker in the cup holder tells me everything i need to know 😂
Just cause you own a Slim Jim auto set, does not make you a locksmith. But I'm with you. I hate BMW as well, except for their BMW S1000 RR Motorcycle.
Just cause the battery is dead doesn't mean the central locking system won't work. That's why there are key holes outside the car on the driver and passenger side doors, in case the fob or car battery dies.
Plus BMW used (or uses?) pneumatic locking mechanisms. They don't need, or use, any power - they're vacuum.
Shhh don't tell the idiot , let him keep breaking windows
Just so you know you're supposed to jump start the vehicle from under the hood. Not directly at the battery. The reason BMW did this, is because when the battery is being charged and or jumped it produces a very explosive gas called hydrogen. To prevent batteries from exploding they put the battery in the trunk and the jump start connections under the hood. No the jump start connections are not obvious. But future reference. The guy performing a walkout should unlock the hood. So you can have access to give it a jump.
Maybe tgey should make it obvious if they do such a major change
You should never have to result to bashing a window outside of an emergency. An airbag, a wedge and a long hook is all you would need
You can't pull the handle either.
It resists opening/unlocking with a dead battery.
The locks on the doors are electric and not mechanical, great design lol
@@Nemesis_Zer0actually on this year of BMW the locks are mechanical and never less majority of locks now on cars are electronic the guys just misinformed, as are you and as are a lot of people who buy a BMW or a car in general these days
@@chanselancaster2946 so why wouldn't the lock engage when he pulled on the plunger? There has to be some sort of vacuum pump or electronic switch that controls the actuator
@@Nemesis_Zer0my f30 can even be opened from locked and dead with the key inside my key fob 😂 I’ve had to do it once. On mine there’s a little hole under the driver door handle you just slide it in and pop it although it does feel like your key wants to break off 😂

I’m from the Westside of Cincinnati…
There’s not a lock made that we can’t bypass!
We’re just that honest around here
Fun fact, you cant unlock most BMW from the drivers door, but if your lockout guy just went to the passenger side he would've got right in.
Climbed through the trunk of my bmw for 3 weeks in college. Good times
Dude just filling the void Logan Paul left.
OMG...We've been through this, as well as an infinitum and BMW should freaking step up and figure the lock issue out! We've had to crawl out our windows to get out of the car many times. We gave up on our BMWs and now have Mustangs and a Mazda. Never again BMW.
I HAVE THE SOLUTION TO THIS PROBLEM....THIS WILL NEVER HAPPEN WITH MY SOLUTION...
Your drunk friend with a hanger is not a locksmith.
Makes me love 60s 70s cars even more American muscle much better😊
Bro u broke the most expensive window for a wallet
Me who drives a cadillac with a door to the trunk in the backseat: 😮
You broke the most expensive window 😂😂😂
Bro broke his window for the video😅
The fact that it's a BMW should tell you everything is gonna go wrong fast
The most expensive and hardest to replace glass is the one this guy breaks. Nice. Fuck yeah
You just broke the most expensive window in the whole car congratulations.
BMW = Brake My Windows
Buick is the same. Smart engineering
You can unlock your bmw if you remove the rear license plate light in the trunk, strip the wires and power them and it automatically unlocks your bmw, the same wires that power those lights power the lock actuators
“I didn’t wanna do the simple task of maintenance and now I’m here costing myself 5x”
The hanging headliner is the most BMW part about this car
Pro tip. Drill a hole in the bottom of your floor put a rubber grommet in the hole you drilled. Attach a wire to the trunk release and have it barely stick out of the hole. Problem solved no more broken windows.
The silver audi a4 b7 next door👀
Had to call a locksmith for the first time cause my battery died and my physical key lock didnt work. ALWAYS MAKE SURE YOUR KEY LOCK/UNLOCK WORKS!
Then just unlock that door and pop the hood to jumpstart.
You might have a remote unlock, but the key still works on these. There are also jump ports in the engine bay you can hook up to. A quick google search probably would have solved this.
