Best sealed wheel bearing removal/installation video on youtube. You even show changing out the sprocket bearings, which no other video I have seen does. Great job Ryan & Lurch!🍻
Glad to see these videos. Just took my 2021 street glide in for 15,000 mile service. Both front and rear wheel bearings were out. Got to say, didn’t see that one coming. Keep the great videos coming.
If you are a Shadetree mechanic, you can knock the old bearings out with a hammer and punch and pound the new bearings win with a socket slighter smaller in Diameter of the od of the bearing.
@@RyanUrlacher I should pull the old wheel bearings out of my old wheel just to see how the tool works. Just one wheel bearing on each side so may not need that narrow lip get one of two wheel bearings out on the same side. I have thought about putting an old tire on the old wheel to do a burn out at a bike night. That's a lot of Labor to do a burn out which really is not a big thrill to me. I wore two rear tires to the steel cords but I have one I had to change before I did my first Track Day. The track inspectors want you do have 50% tread which is totally not necessary considering slicks are so common. Sport bike rear tires only last 6,000 to 8,000 miles I ran one 8,500 miles to the steel cords and got 18,000 miles out of my front tire. Cruiser tires have much harder compound. Guys put car tires on the rear of a Goldwing and get 40,000 miles out of them.
great tool, I remember years ago on my intruder 1500lc, I used a long cement anchor to get hold of the center of the bearing (the same concept), then knocked it out with a long bolt that was the same size of the anchor , and replacing it with big socket on top . yes the good old days
If you have one bike, undersandable. But for multiple bikes over years it pays for itself real quick. Plus you can help buddies. And, you'll have the satisfaction of wrenching on your own bike and knowing you did it right. Ride safe.
@@RyanUrlacher Wow, looks like a very nice tool. I bought a Universal wheel bearing puller kit on E-Bay for $40.00. I have not used it yet. When a rear wheel bearing on my 2008 Buell failed, I bought a new rear wheel with the Upgraded three larger wheel bearings axle and axle spacer Kit. The old wheel had two small wheel bearings. The upgraded wheel has 3 larger wheel bearings. I didn't want to get stranded somewhere on a trip with failed wheel bearings. I installed the new wheel bearings in my 75 ton press. You have to be careful with that much power. The original wheel only had 17,000 miles in it. I had just installed a new rear tire.. I noticed one wheel bearing was dry. I had plans to order new wheel bearings. Then I had a failure on the first trip with a new tire 120 miles each way with a passenger I picked up. It was a cold night .. I ride the last 3 miles in second gear to get home .
For the price of the tool I will just take my wheel/hub ASSY to my local independent shop and buy the bearings from them and let them change them for a small labor charge. Great video though and I appreciate the effort you guy's put into it.
Doing those heavy burn outs showing off the non talent does wonders on the whole drive system engine, trans, clutch, belt, tires which it weakens and heats up the tire setting the rider up for a bad tire problem and stress on the bearings. Stupid stuff!

We've done it a couple different ways in the past for sure. Certainly nice doing it with a proper tool now. LOl~~

That’s a really creative way to do it!
Good job little buddy!
Appreciate the support!
Good explanation
Does the spacer contact both inner races and support them such that torquing the axle nut doesn't put excessive preload on the bearings?
Great vid .front wheel same procedure?
Pretty much, but easier. Less bearings. Video coming soon. Sub and stay tuned.
Damn, for the price of that bearing tool I can pay someone to change them, including the price of bearings.

Cool video. Is this tool available in your store or just the link
Thanks. The link is to the tool in our store! ==> shop.lawabidingbiker.com/collections/jims-tools

I don't see any Brass washer.. I see a Steel washer with Cadmium plating on it .
