    This sentence from Ray…”when you can very clearly articulate that this is my problem, this piece of gear can help because of these reasons and become a solution, now it’s time to upgrade” was alone worth the price of admission. Don’t think I’ve yet heard it put that succinctly and I ‘d like to think that I’ve graduated to the point where I’m actually applying that principle. Very good discussion. Hope you have a follow up one with him, Michael. Nicely done.

      Thanks a lot Marcus! Yeah I totally agree, Ray nailed it with the statement. That really is the key right there!

    Good stuff guys. I love talking camera gear and photography (especially Nikon and wildlife 😁) and what works and what doesn't and techniques... It's so great to here from others that talk about and confirm the same thoughts and experiences that I've come up with over the years.
    I've just recently started exploring more people on TH-cam like Ray and now you.. I can't wait to browse through your channel!
    My next "adventure" will be Instagram because that seems to be the other main place everyone connects and shares their work.

    Good chat Michael and good to have Ray in on it also. I've been waiting for the video to drop after seeing the preview on Instagram. If people ask this question I always say the gear can make it easier to obtain a particular shot, but you still need to know what the shot is you're chasing.

    Michael and Ray. This topic is exactly what i needed to hear right now. I shoot a nikon d7500 with the sigma 150-600mm contemporary for wildlife.I have had some good success with this combo for a year now along with the sigma 70-200mm 2.8 sport. I am on the fence with upgrading to a full frame camera and thought buying the nikon 780 would be a good place to start. Now with the nikon z 6II mirrorless i am torn.They both meet my budget but am not sure which one will meet my needs. I guess i just feel i have outgrown the d7500 and am wanting some better camera features like duel memory cards and being able to have a battery grip. Do you have any advice or thoughts on either of these camera bodies?

      @michaelaagaardphoto  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Chad thanks a lot for the comment! Both Ray and I have the Z6II and use it for most of our photography. Action is the only case where we still use DSLR (just because AF for action is still a bit better on DSLR). The image quality the Z6II produces is just stellar and video is leagues ahead of what you're used to with DSLR. Moreover, lowlight performance with the Z6II is crazy - better than D5. So I'd recommend the Z6II - except if you mainly do super fast action in conditions with tons of light.

      @@michaelaagaardphoto Thank you for your advice. I started watching your youtube channel last year when i was searching for local wildlife photographers on Vancouver Island and B.C and came across you. Which led to Ray Hennessy. Your discussions with Ray are always informative and i have learned a lot from them. I will be purchasing the z6II in the next couple of weeks. I'm getting ready for a two week photography road trip around B.C this summer. Keep up the good work guys.
