I'd forgotten about the cartoon cinema at Vicky station. We lived up heath, road lower Clapham. And worked Battersea fun fair in 73- 74.
Good memories of a wonderful place.

We lived in Wiltshire Close, Chelsea from when I was 7 until I was 17 (1955-1965). I remember going to play with a friend who lived in Churchill Gardens on the Embankment and enjoying climbing on that Steam Roller! Thank you for re-igniting many happy childhood memories.

PinksUK1 Hi, just wondering if you knew Dave Vowles? He lived in Wiltshire I’m sure and went to school with some of my mates in Pimlico. I lived in Churchill. Take care. Brian.

I grew up in Churchill Gardens and remember all of that. The power station as it was is a very powerful image but the Guinness clock is one of my favourite memories.
I remember walking round the outside of the flying saucer can you imagine Elf & safety aloowing that now?

I used to love going to Battersea Park Fun Fair, the Rotor and Big Dipper were my favorites. The Guinness clock always amused me. I think you paid 6d to get into the funfair enclosure, then rides were extra. The Guinness clock and the tree walk were outside in the park grounds. There was also a Grotto. As well as the Cartoon Cinema at Victoria station there was another at Waterloo. It was at the Platform 1 end, built out over the road.
