    Great vid, guys. I’ve fought my chicken wing release for a few years now, and it seems I do it more when I try to get a little extra juice out of my swing. I think I subconsciously do it because when I do suppinate my lead arm, I tend to hit pulls. Could it be from my stopping lower body rotation early?
    Thanks!

It's filled with lots of drills and really impactful how-to stuff--all organized by categories like takeaway, backswing, short game, playing the game, etc. Shaun just had a video demonstrating a drill with a hanger-style training aide that would be perfect for cleaning up a chicken wing move!

    Great tips, but my left arm still wants to stay against my torso. I can do the drill just fine without the ball, but when in play, my left arm refuses to stretch out towards the target .
    Any other tips would be greatly appreciated.

    Great video as always. Do you think that the golf swing is a trail arm driven motion or does the lead arm direct the swing?

    • @AthleticMotionGolf
      @AthleticMotionGolf  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Good players will describe the feel as both, lol. Both need to work correctly, but often a player will need more focus on the one that gives them the most trouble.

    • @richardjohnson-tb5pz
      @richardjohnson-tb5pz 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      I know the golfing machine guys think the right (trail) arm drives the swing and the left is inert. If I remember correctly you guys talk about the arm lift being a necessary part of an orthodox back swing and that it is more than just the flex of the right elbow (trail elbow). Is it the left arm or the right arm, or both that raises the arms in the back swing?

    its because the shoulder plane is too steep at impact, left shoulder should work down/up and around as apposed to too vertical like this!

    Sort of what I do. The bigger issue is trying to hit the ball vs swinging. I will try to destroy that little white ball ( in my case a yellow ball as I am old ) and the whole left side collapses lake a tent in a wind storm.

    I don’t have steep and out to in. But did hold the face off trying to have a ‘pivot’ driven release; stood there one day with the club just in front of me and just flipped my hands, the left arm flexed and sure enough chicken winged. Figured the elbow flexing was therefore the way the brain was braking the club when you flip because the wrist wasn’t flexing and braking the club due to the intent to hold off the rotation. So figured I needed to allow the club to release at the wrists to stop chicken winging it, rather than ‘release at the elbow’. So far so good.
    My question is however, the lead forearm can supinate and the wrist primarily ulnar deviate, and then primarily extend and supinate in the impact zone ie the club goes ‘down and around’ the lead wrist, but equally, it can primarily supinate through Palmar flexion i.e. go ‘over and around’ instead.
    - Which motion to employ?
    - ‘over and around’ feels way more solid but bad shot is long and left
    - is it persist with ‘over and around’ and fix the issue that causes the long and left miss?
    Also, do you intend to supinate the wrist through the ball ie the club is constantly closing up to, through and after impact, or just enough to square the face and let momentum take its course?
    Hope that makes sense!
    Thanks

    • @AthleticMotionGolf
      @AthleticMotionGolf  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Those are very detailed questions that would require some measurement to answer in like detail... but in the simplest of terms, which of those gives you a more square look about a foot or so just past impact from the face on view? The more stable releases we see have that look to the club just past impact.

    • @1DCCX
      @1DCCX 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Athletic Motion Golf Face on or down the line?
      Rotating the club through and beyond the ball and ‘over and around’ gives a very square look, down and around looks a bit open.

    Arrrrrgghhhhhh- I am supposed to be a 5 handicap but at 6’3” I am always the shortest off the tee - by far- years ago, I started spending too much time at the range ( practicing the wrong stuff ) and lost a sense for what happens after impact/ I started trying to go to right field & I am straight as an arrow but weak .. I chicken wing but it seems to be because I stall out at impact - my arms keep going but my body stops - my hips wanna go left& my shoulders want to go right - so my right arm and left arm stay attached to club but something has to give / I am making a relatively easy concept impossible / help /

Because after hitting my second ball right down the pipe after duck hooking my first one OB I know that tour pro is just wanting to come out.
