@@JJ78924 I tried to leave Friday but got trapped on some flooded roads and ended up sleeping in my car. With no cell service I had no clue how to get back or if the roads were safe. Made it back Saturday but my car had bo gas and there was nowhere to get it - and the places that did have it the lines were so long I would’ve ran out before getting there. Eventually Sunday I drove a friends car into rock hill SC to buy gas cans and gas and drove back into Asheville to get my car and drove out the same route and up through to Charlotte.

My cousin lives in AVL. I’ve been texting her. She has no electricity. Or cell phone service. The Verizon tower went out. Or WiFi. Yesterday she plugged her phone into her car.. car batteries last forever. She answered my texts saying it’s very grim. She’s ok. But this looks not great for the next few days. Getting water back online. Good luck.

The governor did a POOR JOB preparing for this!! Where was the staging of supplies, Nat’l Guard, etc. Where was the preparation?? NC Gov. needs to take lessons from Gov. DeSantis in Florida on how to prepare for a storm because he obviously doesn’t know. I have family up there that I haven’t been able to reach in many days and have been out of my head with worry. In Florida, even WiFi/tower trucks are staged so we can stay in contact along with a special agreement with Starlink. The people of NC deserve better!! To think this guy was in line to be VP. It’s scary!! DO BETTER, Governor!

ENOUGH! Those people cannot remain in areas that have nothing: they need to be bused or airlifted up and out into shelters or let motels and hotels open their doors like they were made to do in NYC for the illegals. Either way- get them out and into safety with food water and some comfort!
Then let the soldiers and utility teams go in and clear the debris.
      Get the residents OUT!

That current trough of low pressure systems over the SW Caribbean Sea is showing some organization and potential to develop into a Tropical Depression. Movement northward into the Gulf of Mexico would aid in its development.
Sort of a repeat of Helene's early formation. Has the Gulf cooled down? Have the steering winds changed? What is needed is some Canadian cold air and maybe a lot less CO2 production over the next 50-80 years.

The recent flooding in Appalachia is a devastating reminder of how neglected our nation's infrastructure has become. While American communities suffer from preventable disasters, hundreds of billions of taxpayer dollars are being wasted on uncontrolled immigration and foreign interventions in places like Ukraine, Israel, and other regions. This isn’t just a partisan issue-it’s about priorities. The establishment continues to funnel money abroad and into managing the consequences of poorly controlled borders, while ignoring the critical needs of American citizens.
Rather than preparing for the real and inevitable effects of climate change by investing in infrastructure to protect our communities-like upgrading dams, levees, and flood control systems-the establishment would rather drain your pockets chasing green energy boondoggles that benefit their cronies. For a fraction of what’s been spent on these efforts, we could have repaired and reinforced our dams and other vital infrastructure, preventing the kinds of disasters that cost American lives and livelihoods.
We need leaders who will put America first by focusing on rebuilding our roads, bridges, dams, and communities instead of putting foreign interests, uncontrolled immigration, and costly green energy schemes ahead of the real needs of our people. It’s time for all of us, no matter our political affiliation, to unite and demand a government that prioritizes the safety and well-being of American citizens.
Vote for leaders who will challenge the establishment, invest in critical infrastructure, secure our borders, and protect our communities. Enough of putting America last. It’s time to put Americans first.

US Hurricane victims get 750 each. What else do they want? We alrady gave THIS YEAR:
    - $9,000 per illegal immigrant that has entered the U.S.
    - $24,400,000,000 to Ukraine.
    - $11,300,000,000 to Israel.
    - $1,950,000,000 to Ethiopia.
    - $1,600,000,000 to Jordan.
    - $1,400,000,000 to Egypt.
    - $1,100,000,000 to Afghanistan.
    - $1,100,000,000 to Somalia.
    - $1,000,000,000 to Yemen.
    - $987,000,000 to Congo.
    - $896,000,000 to Syria.
We can't help the entire world and still help ourselves. DUH!
Don't worry hurricane victims, I'm sure you will make it, but there is just not enough US tax dollars to give you any more.
BTW, we are saving plenty back to give more to Ukrane.
    Thanks,
