I met a beautiful lady in church once who told me she had 5 children when her husband died and left her a widow. She raised all 5 of her children without remarrying. She said she was not going to let some man get in a position of authority like that over children that were not his. Ladies, please hold yourself back sometimes. I support traditional family life. But when circumstances arise due to a death, etc., don't be in such a hurry to get a man into your life. Try and get your children to age 18 and out the door before remarrying.

@@steelhurricane4041 My grandmother waited for remarriage. First, her son (my uncle) went off to the Navy. Then my mother married my father. My mother was 22 when she married. Only then did my grandmother remarry. She told me that she waited until she knew her children were grown and going to be provided for before she went forward with remarriage. She then went on to marry “a good man” who was the love of her life and the best grandfather I could ever have asked for. ❤️

@@rozchristopherson648 My Father passed away when I was 5. There were 7 children in our family, I am the youngest. We were very fortunate to be well grounded. We owned our home in a wonderful mountain town. Later, my Mother had a stable position as a seamstress in a sewing factory. She had benefits, etc, through her company. We were lucky that she was so independent/capable. When I was 12 she started dating a man that ended up being more like a family friend. They were companions for the rest of their lives-- but never got married, I know this may sound selfish but I think the kids would have had a lot of difficulty adjusting, considering our ages at the time. It worked out really well as it was. In our case. "if it ain't broke, don't fix it"

Also because it wasn't clear when mentioned in this video but he was already suspended from the police force with pay for an unrelated incident BEFORE the death of Dasan . It was after the department learned of the new case that they made the suspension without pay . This poor handsome young man had such a bright future ahead of him and it was snuffed out by someone he should have been able to look up to and someone who's paid to protect people much less the children in your own care . When my father passed I was ten, and my sister was 16. I remember only one guy mom dated until I became an adult. My mom owns our house, he has his own apartment. My sister and I really looked up to him. When I was 16 I asked my mom “why don’t you marry him?” We knew she loves him. She said she didn’t want to move a man in on her girls. She said this house is mine, and yours, and your sister’s, and someday my grandkids. If I were to get married then half of my house would become his.❤ “what a woman”

The case involving the murder of the 15 year old stepson by his former Marine soldier/Baltimore police officer stepfather is heartbreaking. When is law enforcement going to be held accountable for misdeeds & viewed as people like everyone else in the eyes of the law? When facing charges, restraining orders etc, they are not above the law. This tragedy should never have happened. I can't begin to imagine the heartfelt deep pain the mother & loved ones are feeling at the loss of this beautiful child. There's no punishment severe enough for the murderous stepfather to face. The last face the stepson saw was that of his stepfather, someone who was supposed to love & protect him. I'm sickened by these actions. May this child rest in peace & his loved ones get justice, if there is such a thing in this case & the many others like it.

Restraining orders need to be reformed. Most often it's intimidating and scary to even go to a courthouse to fill out the paperwork for a restraining order. If the petitioner is a no show for a hearing that's a red flag. An officer should at least check up on the victim in their place of work or if possible somewhere outside of any shared residence with the abuser. When a restraining order is granted it still doesn't stop the perpetrator. In so many cases it just makes more sense to give victims a new start like the witness protection program. So many abusers are crazy and literally will not stop.

In Canada, a Judge grants a restraining order on the victim’s behalf. No one is required in court. The Order is signed from the Judge’s chamber. Safety for the victim… Also, the police press charges against the perpetrator, not the victim. The charges cannot be revoked by a victim’s “change of heart” or from being pressured by the perpetrator. The Crown Attorney represents the victim and advocates on her behalf. 🇨🇦

Sometimes when a victim knows they’re in the tension phase, they will intentionally set off the abuser, get through the abuse, so they can get to the honeymoon phase much faster.
