I personally think this is a much better barioth fight, but that also makes it easier due to how much of a dickbag cumstain the original barioth is- i got 4'50 using hammer. The arena does a really good job of confining him, and he also flinches rather often, which helps.
What are your thought on this new version of Barioth (tempered only?)? Let's hope the new monster update are Gore/Shagaru Magala (but please, no MMorpg gimmick) if only for Canta to have his original look for real.

If Siege remained dead, I think Frostfang wouldn't have suffered for too much. Siege weapons, or just Siege in general, is the curse that will stain Iceborne forever.
@@gryphonnecrox2065 I mean he really just shaped us to run elemental builds. His fight is actually pretty easy once you learn his openings and he has some of the most precise hitboxes in the game. Hope they arch temper him at some point.
I also think they released him now as a way for people to obtain really good ice weapons, which is pretty convenient for everyone that cant get any kjarr weapons right now. With these weapons pretty much NOONE should have a problem reaching the elemental check in the special assignment
I'm not familiar with the MHW:I combat, but is hookshotting to the monster whenever it stops moving really worth doing? I just feel like you might be able to do more damage by doing your strongest combo instead of hookshotting to it. Correct me if I'm wrong, though.
Clutch clawing the monster when it’s staggered allows you to 1.) do an attack that softens part of the monster and allows you to do more damage OR (when grappled to the monster’s head) 2.) Do a flinch shot that utilizes your slinger ammo and sends the monster in the direction it’s facing (if it’s not enraged). If it falls off a ledge or hits a wall, a material will fall off of it that you can pick up and the monster will writhe on the ground, allowing you to attack it without really any risk In summary, yes, it is worth it
I believe he is a moderate challenge for those whom have not been fully established in the endgame. The complaining on how easy he is, in my honest opinion, is selfish and not thinking about the community as a whole. Alatreon just came out and he is, by far, one of the toughest monsters out there with quest ending gimmicky mechanics. Frost Fang is a breath of fresh air. While we are at it, let's compare the two monsters and get at the real issue at hand and what I hope some TH-camrs talk about one day. Their behaviors is substantially different. While Frost Fang's moves are telegraphed and give room for error and has a fair learning curve, Alatreon does not. He is arguably faster than furious rajang, and we know how that annoying ape is, especially when tempered. And he gives no room for error with touch of death combos if you accidentally get knocked to the the ground. And we all know about his Nova mechanic, which honestly is not that big of a problem. Again, its the monster behavior and the double negative of breaking the horns as well as the elemental DPS check that looms over every hunter's head and they are pressured to face tank some of Alatreon's erratic to meet one if not both objectives. Guess my point is, monster behaviors is sometimes horrible to where as difficulty is based on if the monster will even give you a chance to land good hit or combo instead of running all over the map. Not looking to make things easier but fair to where the monster has a movement to where you have to learn it, not wait 5-15 minutes until monster calms down for like 3 seconds, then rage again all over the map. Its one of the main reasons ranged weapons are meta and mostly used by the community. You don't have to constantly wait for the monster to calm down or chase it every where. You can shoot at it from a distance and stay out of the mess.

Frostfang Barioth is really easy because of endgame I think. People already have full prepare and his moveset is easy to learn
