Question, so how come for dual blades the best set is a Safi/Velkhana mix set but for bow, another mainly elemental weapon, the Silver Rathalos armor is still the best/meta?
Bow and DB need very different skills. Both sets get roughly the same amount of element, DB gets a lot of raw from safikhana by adding resentment, but Bow doesn't have room for it (in fact it loses raw since it doesn't have the room to slot in element attack 6 without sacrificing charm).
When I saw this mission and DB I'm like, wow, is Canta gonna do Whetfish DB on this mission like the meat Hammer one? And then I saw TA wiki rules I was disappointed that this is a serious run :(
It's a Time Attack, where people are trying to get the shortest time possible, but in Monster Hunter also means that there's a host of rules that they play by. I don't remember all of them, but they're mostly stuff like no using mantles, flashbombs, traps, and so forth.
It took me 30 minutes with a insect glaive (bad choice I know) and a palico because some asshat came in and was *aFK THE ENTIRE TIME* ;×; Great job tho
Can someone explain why Canta claws onto the monster but then drops off? Is it just to position himself? Note: I'm an experienced mhw player but haven't bought ice borne yet
it's in the description. In summary, the idea behind TA rules is mainly to showcase how to use the weapon against the monster without cheesing it for free hits with traps, flinch shots to the wall etc.

It actually both resets the timer and extends it slightly, not just resets the timer as most believe. You have 4 seconds to get the initial clutch, where the timer is then set to 6 seconds left. This happens the very moment your clutch claw hits the monster, so the closer you are the better it is for you since if you're closer you spend less time flying towards the monster.
