i havent played this game since before it became free. i used to play a lot with a good friend back then. but ever since he's passed away, so did my passion for this game cuz it honestly hurt playing without him. but some friends really wanted to play this game with me very recently and i honestly ran out of games to lose myself in. so i started playing again yesterday, it was sad to come back because of memories flooding, but its a really fun game. i cant blame a game for the loss of a friend. this guide helped me out a lot, thank you :)
That's rough man sorry to hear that, completely understand you not wanting to play for that reason. If you have a desire to play just know your friend would want you to, he'd be cheering you on in your playthrough.
Leaving on the dlc before witch queen and coming back to final shape makes me feel like when i played d1 launch and returned after two dlc.. so much to do i love it
My eyes glazed over during some of this - not because of the video itself, but because of how complex and finicky Destiny 2 has become. I've been out of the game for a good long while (2-3 years really), and jumping back in now is proving fairly challenging.
Haven't played since forsaken. First thing I did was look up if the main hub bouncing ball easter egg was still a thing. After confirming the game's still playable, this video has been great for getting up to speed

Haven’t played for 7 years, saw lightfall was free and decided to jump back in on ps5. Wow nothing says fresh start more, none of my characters carried over but I don’t mind.
I haven't played since 2016. I'm trying to figure out where to start. It's a cluster of DLC is what it seems like. It doesn't walk you through any timeline. Everything that has happened since I quit playing is a loss to me. It's confusing. There's no real start to anything. I don't know where to go or what to do. Are you using vex mythoclast in the Gambit mode?
Haven’t played since they sunset all the guns and gave away practically all the guns I worked hard for “not forgotten” “mountaintop” etc. I really wish they kept it as is and just put the dlc like that
I stopped playing back in destiny 1 when I heard every player was getting upped to a higher light level from the get go although I had to grind through the Vault of glass Crota and kings fall to get where I was
Been playing destiny since D1 beta days. I stopped playing destiny till I’d say within the first 2 an 3 months of its cycle. I played it again when it became free and I played beyond light did some missions and got an exotic shotgun. I then got a PlayStation cause I used to play destiny on Xbox and I did cross save still had my character an everything however I felt lost due to me taking a break from destiny after I finished beyond light. Had to delete it and redownload it over and over due to me thinking ok so I have to spend money on this game to do this and that. What I love about destiny is the world and its gameplay I love the world of destiny and as someone that plays single player games now I can care less about PvP. Should I download destiny and restart from the beginning?
I haven’t played since The Taken King, was a PS3 player so it was the last DLC I got to play. Pretty sad that my old account, (level 40 Titan, a few exotics, but whole lot of memories) is lost to time because my account was linked with a random email my brother set up for me, but I’m considering playing for The Final Shape, I miss the game a lot, but only got back into it after they sunset Red War, and it just didn’t feel right, (also broke at the time lol)
I’m so confused. Just started Destiny 2 a day or so ago and I bought the DLC pack that offered every DLC except the last one. But now it keeps directing me to start where it says The Final Shape campaign. I haven’t even bought that yet….im so confused. I really just want to start at the beginning and work my way through the different DLC’s.
I’m downloading the free version of this game to try it out but loving game play so far. Just for clarification you need to buy all dlc for certain classes and single player/multiplayer mode right ?
Can someone help me, I'm stuck at ikora rey reflection timeline quest and I cannot find it to activate it ! Help me please because she's not showing me the quest.
Very helpful! I left destiny because of college, now I have a bit more time, this is very useful info! Any advice on which dlc I should buy first? The three dlc bundle? Or lightfall?
Just came back to see if I still needed to spend 90% of my time in loading screens and running between 87 vendors. I just want to play and shoot and not have to optimize my loadout for every single different mission.
i last played destiny when "kings fall" was the newest raid. so, many many years ago. Aside from this i have played destiny 2 once every year about since it came out and it was to do some random missions that were completely foreign to me as well as some crucible games. aside from that i just downloaded the game and seen that i have only about 1680 light level and have no idea which dlcs i need to purchase in order to catch up. ps. the video is barely starting so if you answer most of this ill find out vv soon cheers
Last thing I've played was Forsaken dlc, I got bored and annoyed about the fact that I need to keep paying dlcs for this game. I'm downloading now to see whats up
So I'm brand new to destiny 2 I have the Legacy Collection and just got done finding the arc conductors that Cayde hid. Is there an order I wish I need to continue from there cause I am confused on where I really need to start to get the full story
I stopped playing after the warmind expansion bc i thought forsaken was gunna be like year 1 w/ boring and pointless weapons w/ fixed perks now i wanna come back but there’s so much content that idk wat im doing or where to start 😂
I’ve been playing since the beta and made a new account with all new characters. How do I get the other subclasses? They are grayed out for me on my hunter. I vaguely remember the old way to get them but of course Bungie got rid of that way to get them. Specifically arc and void I am unable to equip. I looked online and I saw multiple post saying you don’t have to complete A guardian rises quest to get them but another said that I’d have to complete it.
