    Carp doesn't have to be just a sportfish. It is also an excellent food fish and can be cooked many different ways. I recently deep fried a whole small one( 1-2lb). I deeply scored the meat, battered and fried. NO BONES! I ate the entire fish and it ate just as good as any sunfish for Bass. Delicious!

    Nothing more fun than catching a 20 plus pound carp in swift current. I like the way you mix things up fishing . Keep up the great videos and I'll keep watching. Good job Justin.

    Looks like a neat way to fish. And yeah, a chest mount or hat mount would probably be better for filming. Looking forward to seeing more videos. Keep on fishing.

    Hey brother, you ever use plain white bread for bait. Just take the brown putter part off of a slice of bread. Place hook in center and ball up hard. Then find your hook tip and expose it. No sinker nothing. Leave plenty slack, and you can watch your line blast out like a shark is on it,lol. I've caught regular carpet, grass carpets, channel cats(which I hate,lol) , and turtles off bread. Not that you need any different bait,lol. It's the yeast that comes out, that they like. It stays on hook great as well. Awesome video brother.

    The corn flake idea is to chum the area close to your hook! Similar technique we use... Doesn't require anything fancy, keep doing what you are doing.

  • @hikenmikes8262
    @hikenmikes8262 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Yes, Justin, those cages with pack bait makes a huge difference. Carp can be cautious biters on a single hook of bait…but a scattered field of chum can really turn on the bite😄

    In the world of carp fishing, the wire cage is called a method feeder and the mash you're using is called a pack bait. I use a mixture of panko bread crumbs, cream corn, whole kernel corn, and strawberry jello. Those carp get a bad rap, but they are a gamey fish.

    Hey Justin, You got on those carp this time. Your PB is the biggest carp I think I've ever seen. Most of the carp I've seen is when I fish for bluegill and sunfish for bait and I'm using an Aberdeen hook and about a 1/4" piece of night crawler under a bobber next to shore and a carp takes it. Now that's a fight. I like both cameras. I like the tripod because you get the whole picture. The chest cam is like you're the one fishing except sometimes I think it's pointed too high. Sometimes we only see part of the fish or we can't see whats going on at all and maybe that's because it's so close/zoomed so to speak. Either way whatever works for you man. It's still a great video. Good luck... Thanks...

    Try mixing the cereal and corn together with a pack of strawberry jello. Add water to make it sticky so it will stick to the cage or method lead a little better. Unseasoned panko bread crumbs, corn and jello are my go to carp bait. I stole the recipe from a TH-camr named catfish and carp. He's pretty much a carp guru. Great carp video! They are fun to fight for sure.

    Grind up some white bread in a food processor, mix in a little corn or other bait, and squeeze it onto the wire cage or method lead. I've tried the others, but this is best. Experiment with moisture content for best stick-on.

    Hey I was wondering I live in Arizona. And years ago there was a carp society. And I learned a trick from them using Wheaties and strawberry jelly for bait. Mix it up and it makes like a dough ball type thing does jelly holds it together on a regular hook. Or you can use a treble hook also. It has worked really good for me in the past versus corn. Let me know on a shout out if you’ve ever tried it or heard of it. You can catch a lot of them that way I know .

    • @jeffreyroehm5904

    Love seeing the carp fishing. I can’t wait for them to move up on the bank at dale hollow this spring. If you enjoy carp fishing enough I’d suggest making up some hair rigs and buying some artificial corn to put on them. That way you don’t have to worry about if your bait is still on the hook. Get some old fashioned oats and sweet corn and put on the lead.

  • @flakesinyershoe8137
    @flakesinyershoe8137 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    A friend of mine caught a 45+lb Buffalo on ivory soap on a hook, right next to some of my fancy rigs.. they eventually get wise to regular rigs but carp rigs aren't ever a guarantee.

    When you put fish back in the water from the bank, they try and come back to you cause they loose their sense of direction and takes a minute for them to find it again.
    Use some flour or pancake mix to help glue it together, to keep it simple.

    Bub I got a tip for u to try I don't fish for carp a hole lot mainly when cats and muskie won't hit but take some sweet shredded wheat dampen a square peace of one up and put it in your palm of your hand take your fingers and need it work it into a round ball do six or so and let them set for a few minutes just let them dry a lil then u should be able to bounce it of concrete I use it alot in really deep fast moving spillway and I learned to keep the bait on if u put a lil sweet Kool aid in it and mix drum hit them good but take a big can of corn get it hot over a fire with the same Kool aid use a rest rocket or sling shot shoot it out twards the channel try these to tips see if u like it I keep it simple as possible nice catch man

    They will bite a fluke hook just like you use for weakfish or flounder it holds more corn and I've caught hundreds of carp on them and I didn't use no chum rigs. I've caught them over 40 pounds and never bent a hook out .
