    It’s beautiful, but I think it would have looked so much prettier with the bottom cut outs being stained also. I thought that was the most unique thing about this tall boy.

      @@LemonstoLemonadeFurniture Yes, kinda top heavy. That was my observation that the bottom ovals insets would have been great stained as well, but that walnut burl veneer was plastic? Are you serious? That is just crazy. But makes sense because even in the 50's that little bit of burl veneer would have been extremely expensive. It would have been a shame not to use that hardware, I agree. Great job.

    • @LemonstoLemonadeFurniture
      @LemonstoLemonadeFurniture  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Yep plastic. The whole inside of the drawer was solid wood with solid wood front pattern (the scallops) but the inserts...totally plastic. But yes, my original idea was to stain all of the cutouts. Oh well. Still turned into a lovely piece! And the cat scratches are gone ;) lol

    Great job on this one! Let's be honest, that was a big project, especially with all the detail work. You nailed it! And thanks for the shoutout! Just paying forward what other viewers have done for me. My favorite part was watching the doors get stained, and then watching the cardboard come off out in the sun! The stain against that paint choice. Gorgeous! Barry

      @@LemonstoLemonadeFurniture I don't blame you, this is one of my favorite styles, only word I can think of is Elegant. A dresser is basically a big box, but they managed to make it long and linear with just a little adornment. Good call not to use those extra ormalu, those extra hardware pieces, however you spell it. "Ormolu", just looked it up.

      Thank you so much for watching! We have a HVLP spray gun we purchased at harbor freight. We usually replace it every 6 months but we do a ton of painting with it first! It operates great but needs to be well rinsed after use or else it can be finicky. But at the $19 price point, we certainly get our use out of each one!

      Hi Maureen! I don't care for Rustoleum either. I actually have never tried Dixie Bell! Shocker! I found SW and never looked back. I love all of the color options. I plan on going into SW paint a little more on my next video. It runs through our spray gun perfectly and requires minimal coats. I get sooo many uses out of the quart. I just love it! And if the color is not what I am wanting, I just take it back to the store and they will remix something for me that I like better. Win Win! Thanks for watching!
