I love Rochester. It's so quirky with some nice independent shops. The history in the buildings and the cathedral and castle is great.. Plenty of coffee shops and cafe's. It's a great place to just wander about in. Another great vlog, thanks lads.😉
I absolutely adore your vlogs and always end up chuckling at you both. Fiest time I've commented but please keep up the great work, I appreciate all the time and effort you put in to them. Have a great week guys x
Hi guys. The next time you visit Rochester Cathedral ask the guides where the tomb of St William of Perth is. The chances are that they won't know. I have research this subject and I know exactly where he lays. I have told many of the guides where he lays, but they are skeptical simply because they are not interested. Considering he is the only saint interred in Rochester cathedral there should be at least a plaque commemorating where his tomb was. Really enjoyed your blog. Hopefully you'll have better weather next time.
I was trying to decide where to go this year for a Christmas market. It was between Rochester and Winchester. You guys made up my mind - Rochester it is! Thanks , really enjoyed your tour and loved the banter between you 👌.
Thank you for watching, happy we could help inform your decision. We hope you enjoy Rochester and the Christmas market, we will keep our fingers crossed for some good weather for you 🤞🏻
Hey! I own Get Ready Comics, we had a customer in today who had seen this video and told us about it- just wanted to say a huge thanks! (hope you're still loving the Loungefly :)
Rochester also has a good folk festival every May bank holiday weekend, Rochester Sweeps. Three days of free live music and morris and other folk dancing all round the high street and the castle grounds.
Hi 👋 JJ yet another brilliant video from you guys. The shots high up looking towards the cathedral were stunning, haven't been to Rochester for many years, must visit again so lovely.
Hi Gaynor. The views from the top of the castle are definitely the best thing about visiting it. Rochester is definitely worth getting back to if you haven’t been for a while 😊
Hi Danny thanks for watching, great to hear you are enjoying the videos 😊 both of those places are on our to visit list so we will hopefully get to them soon!
@@JJExtra cheers. We stumbled you when you did all the main rides at Chessington and we've pretty much watched your backlog videos. Keep up the good work. Ps free parking is a great shout on your videos too 👍
Interesting sign showing Rochester as a city, unfortunately it lost this status several years ago (1998) due to ineptness by the local council. Being a city has nothing to do with having a cathedral as many people think.
It's not Commisioners Road! Thats The Epslinade. (By Churchfields) It's about a ten minute walk to the castle from here. Spaces are limited though so you do need to early to have any chance of finding a space here!
Rochester is my surname. Im American but I think I may have a full-on proper English given name as well. Maybe some folks from the UK can tell me if my assumption there is accurate? Im called Archie. I know my family came over from England in the 19th Century, the fact it is my name and all the cool kids come from the UK are about all I knew. Well. That and all the cool kids come from the UK. Lol. I had no idea Dickens hailed from Rochester Kent. I must visit some day. I’ve always been proud of the Union Jack and knowing that I’m of English descent. Glad to know my name is a very old one. It first appears in writing in the year 794. We’ve been around since the dark ages! This is a great vlog!
Hi Archie, thank you for watching and your amazing comment. It's great to hear how our video has helped connect you a little more with your heritage. Archie certainly is a name used here, short for Archibald originally. We hope you get to visit Rochester some day!

Live near Rochester,try Restoration House
Thanks for the suggestion 😊
“Parked our yacht?” 🤔😂 Must go back to Rochester, historic town not as touristy as nearby Canterbury. Thanks for the upload.
We clearly need to brush up on our terminology 😂 a day out in Rochester is certainly a LOT cheaper than Canterbury
@@JJExtra Your video has prompted me to go back again, thanks for that 😁
Is it realistic to live in Rochester and commute to Central London?
Absolutely! Trains run from Rochester to London Bridge in just over an hour. 👍
The home of Charles Dickens is CHATHAM...HE HAD TWO HOUSES THERE
Lovely video I do King John of Rochester Castle
If you want to meet in my 40kg of Armour that can be done

People who review Rochester generally don"t do a good job, they miss so much of interest,
Agreed. Where would you recommend people visit? Comments and suggestions can really help people plan 😊
too much talking, get your face away from the camera

Decisions decisions…where next ? Full circle would be nice.
Lesson learnt : I understand why my mother wanted to avoid a council estate.
