    I went down the same path to learning about these from the Facebook group, I love them and like that they are one of the earliest spring mushrooms to appear! Well done video, been looking around Lansing but haven't found any yet this year, guessing you are south of here

      Yes I'm in Sturgis. However I've seen pics of g.brunnea in Ottawa county . Keep looking and thank you! I expect to get some guff from this one and the next couple I'm editing now on Verpa .

      Some call this a beefsteak but in your area of the state they are usually referring to Gyromitra carolinia. Both edible once fully cooked
