What’s the point of this trade design where it requires actual interactions for the trade? Why not just automate it to where the list price can be paid immediately and transfers the listed item on the spot? Is it fun to have to take out time in people’s limited gaming time to weed out scammers or wait for people AFKing? Does not make sense. Genuine question, new to POE(2) and 60hrs in.
The interaction between players is the point. I've met quite a few people I'd consider friends because of these interactions. For alot of people trading is the only time they will interact with another player. Diablo 2 trade consisted of spamming trade lobbies or making a game that had your trade request in the title. Thus forced people to interact with each other. Alot of poe's design inspirations are taken from diablo2.
To be fair, having an automated system also has its cons. wakfu,Runescape and eve online would have ppl who would corner a market by buying low and selling high. The cool thing about a none automatic system is that if u f up on a really good item, you'll see a TON of msgs asking to buy from you. That's when u can tell its a really good item. Another one i can see happening is that when the game will be about to go free to play, i imagine tons of players would buy items to resell on high demand.
@lance0625 Lmao, as opposed to the trading price just being shown to you like in Runescape? PoE2 is different because items have a huge range of affix desireability, but there is no excuse for not having the transaction itself being automated to prevent scams.
@@xSirDingo hey, im not saying im against it. Just that if poe2 were to switch to that system today, it would crash the market... if it could get even worst XD

I hate the trading in this game. I’ve had so many issues with people listing a price inviting and then canceling or saying it’s more now. Or people not responding at all and I’m not going for uniques. Trying to get some jewels and I’m willing to pay 3-5 ex but no response.
Coz it's shit system....ppl put things in stash to sell and go do stuff and they get whispers now they don't want to stop what they are doing....that's whats happening with me....I get whispers while m in a boss fight or in a full party... Also trade site is having some issues recently, items that are already sold are still up there...
How people even got to the point in this game within the first week of acquiring a div is beyond me. It's week 3 now, I have about 85hrs on my main character and they are level 80. People must have been playing 12+ hrs a day since day 1. Why try so hard during EA?.. Crazy
Thank you. Literally all of this could be avoided with instant buyout that sends the item you buy to a remove-only tab in your stash and the same for the seller.
@Slaydra Yeah I think that part is inevitable in any trading system. But they couldn't force the prices low to trick people. And no more having to DM 20 people to finally get a response on an item you're not even sure you want at that point because it was your 20th choice lol
I unfortunately scammed someone.. first week of the game I sold a skill gem instead of a spirit gem. Guy msgd me in Chinese and I didn’t understand what he needed. Ultimately figured it out a day later, felt bad. Always double check your items.
It would also help to have a graph showing what the ring is actually selling for. If a bunch of scammers are posting 1ex to get you to post yours for 1ex, but the last 9/10 sales have gone for 1 div, you get a better idea of what theyre worth.
I feel like im dodging bullets. No one responds to me, ever. I spent 4 hours the other day trying to buy something. No one responded. A couple times, the price changed 4 times from the same people. 1 ex to 20 div...all within a minute
This... this is the exact problem im having right now in lategame. Lvl 15 waystone maps rarely fucking drops that i have to resort to the Trade market. But all i see are people price fixing. They are supposedly selling for 1 exalt but they of course they dont intend to sell it at that price. Im at the point where i cannot level my character or do late game stuff because i need these maps. And from what im see tier 15 are going for 2 exalts and tier 16 are going for 8-9 exalts. Its just frustrating... its already frustrating with the the issues with leveling, getting killed out of nowhere sometimes and not feeling progress.
i dont get how your not getting tier 15 waystones, they drop like candy, ive levelled 4 characters to 80 and rarely gone much beyond and i have about 40 excess so i would look at your atlas and see if you have mapped correctly for chance to drop and chance to +1 level on waystones.. also, ALWAYS do bosses on t15 as they are a sure fire drop and if you have it set you can double that
I paid a div for 3 dragons on accident. Learn from your mistakes. Someone tries to low ball or trick me at least once a day. Just pay attention when trading folks.
sort of, some rares can have the same name. theres actually a vendor recipe that rewards you for this. I always check the name and at least 2 mods on it for the specific %
For Services it should always be paid AFTER the run is done. Because even if a scam was to happen, no one loses any Currency by a transaction being handled over. Also usually when someone is doing the services is still going to make currency from all other players if this happens. (you cant lose something u never had to begin with)
Services are almost always half up front, to compensate for time and resources. In a game, and where the carrier doesnt lose anything for a fail except a little time, i could see 1/4 up front. The problem is, the carrier is at full risk of loss. It would be really interesting to see a trade type system/chest where you put in the currency youre willing to pay for the run, and both agree thats the contract. Then when the run completes, via failure or success, the currency is handed over to whomever it should go
Your video about The hidden trove discord server saved me alot of time and pain that I would have had running the 4th ascendacy suk my ass trial. Thank you. It was so simple, quick and just 35 exalts for all my Ascendancy points.
If RuneScape and FFXIV can implement the grand Exhange and market board, then POE can do the same. But this “trade” mechanics are what make poe the game different so highly likely they will never
Do you think they will introduce action house ? because i'm basically wasting my time now running maps and can't any drop since lvl70 .... whispering have 0 response so far....
just want to say sometimes the trade site doesn't always update on the site, so sometimes you whisper not realizing price change and go by what is on the website.
Maan, I feel so bad. That guy def reported me as a scammer and I own it.. A genuine mistake though. The dang symbols for ex/div is so small on the site and my eyes never catch the price in text
I did get some good deal with 1ex, just remember double check the stats, sometime i sell my good thing at 1ex cause my statsh is overflood with new thing
I found a good way to avoid the swap glitch, I could be wrong but I just read the name like "Carrion Hail Expert dualstring" if I see anything different I cancel trade
Im lazy. I'll put an item up for a certain price and if i suddenly get tons of whispers, you bet your ass i'm pulling it down and raising the price. Capitalism.
yeah its pretty bad, if they removed all the price fixers that would be a huge help and make it so much less stressful, because a new player would never know
