hi. this is so neat! i was wondering, how are you scaling the hair at the control points ? you said you can expand the base. how are you doing that ? is it a hot key ?
Any tips for making the scalp look natural? I always find that mine looks weird with a bunch of overlaps. Also any tips for making the sides of the hair flip outwards? I cant seem to get it right.
Looking to know more about controlling the hair meshes, namely how to do a flip up hair style ie: Birdmaid Meidri (back hair) or Yuna FFX (bangs / side hair). Whenever I modify the mesh to flip up at the ends it gets scary > worse > deleted. Any advice would be appreciated, & if time allows it I would love a tutorial! Thank you for inspiring me! I never dreamed of creating an avatar from scratch. Still pretty new to all this, and hair is tough. Hoping to get the hang of it with practice :)
I apply the mesh before I start working on the hair style. If you do flip it up, use the line adjustment tool (the one with the dots and line through it) to fix each strand of hair.
Thank you for the amazing video. I wish i could make good quality videos like you. I usually take days to make a model as i currently dont have a lot of free time on my hands. This makes me not want to get into VR because I know I'm gonna want to make my own custom avatar but don't want to learn a new skill that I'm not really interested in. And I ain't paying someone either.
Really the only game I can think of that you use a custom avatar is vr chat. Besides that most games have character creation in a more traditional way. But you can have a somewhat custom character using vroid without having to learn much at all. As long as you are okay with generic hair, everything else is mostly drag and drop, color picking, and moving sliders. This channel has pretty much all the tutorial you need to make a character that is “unique enough” without learning an entire new skill set. In my opinion though you will rarely need a custom avatar, I use a lot of skins that already exist cause that’s just part of the fun. Being an anime character the whole time when you can be pretty much anything you can think of is just a tad boring.
Argama Witch ah cool. My next question is how do I download it? 😅I find the file and download it but then I’m not allowed to go into it without buying things. Is this right?
Argama Witch I’m trying to download the actual app and I go to the website and I download it, and it’s trying to make me buy a membership for app it’s trying to run
