They say "Every girl's crazy about a sharp-dressed man" and dude, with that t-shirt on, you're Killin' it!!! 😎😎😎 Love the cooked wires, and love the fact that you and Paul C. are TIED @ 42!!! Let the ULTRA DEATH MATCH begin!!!
Haha 😂 thanks Fil, now I got that tune stuck in my head! But yeah that shirt, every time I wear it I'm beating 'em off with a stick! 🤣 That motor will deffo go faster without it's wires melting and the ESC smoking! Paul has got a fight on his hands for sure!!!
Oh wow! Cooked the wires, that was pulling some amps! Silicone coated wires are so much nicer than the old PVC coated ones like this. I am glad it was not worse and I hope to see you back out to get to 45 or more! You are still 42 mph faster than me on the scoreboard! LOL! Take care Mark and have a great weekend!
Oh yes Addam, I said something that rhymed with "cooked" when I looked at the motor! Definitely pulled too many amps and fried the ESC! But yes the PVC insulation is terrible and not fit for this application. Thanks very much pal, I think it will go faster after I sort it out. Take care too my friend and a smashing weekend to you too!
Thanks Mark yeah a bit of a bummer 😕 those connectors that came with the motor were shocking!!! All fine now though! Not doing too bad thanks pal. Hope Sunday is going well, cheers 🍻
Oh what a run and then meltdown....... 🔥🔥 maybe solder on some 12 awg and some gold connectors ? Black Beamer is back. I checked his plates and the car is ok n all paid up 😄
Thanks Are - yes it was going well until the insulation gave up! Crappy PVC coated wires! I've soldered some decent wires on and it's OK now, fingers crossed! 🤞 Haha well done for the number plate check, at least his car is legal even if his actions may not be! 🤣👍
Well Done McMark with the 42 McMPH speed run. You are slowly going up in numbers but i reckon you need a huge gush of wind to catch up to McRobs time 😁😂😝
Thank you kind Sir! Haha I need a tornado or failing that a bloody big cliff to throw it off! 😂 I am going to try the Orion 12T you sent me tonight, fingers crossed! 🤞😁
42mph that's good dude, hopefully you'll get to top it one more time. Those frazzled wires, oh no - can the motor be retrieved with replacement wires and a soldering iron ?
Thanks dude, yeah the connectors that came with the motor were awful and certainly not up to the job. I have soldered on better wires and it is fine now! 😅 Maybe get one more shot at it if it ever stops raining 🌧 😅👍
Oh yes pal, those cheap wires should never have been fitted to a hot motor like this! All fixed now though and I think it had more in the tank! It's autumn so there are only going to be more leaves next time - Arrrgghh! 😭😂👍
Many thanks Gabriel - the motor should be faster but now it keeps cutting out... I think the brushes are faulty as it goes again after poking them, but alas I am no expert! Take care too my friend. 😎🙏👍
G'day our Mukka😃👧 Congratulations mate! 42 with melted wires👌💥. Lucky she didn't burn to the ground 😳. We hope you're having a fantastic weekend and Sheila say's hellooo👩🦘🇦🇺
G'day Cobber! Thanks brother Bruce and sister Sheila 🙏!!! Oh yeah mate this could have ended much worse 😬 but thankfully we got a bit more speed! Hello right back to Sheila and hope all is good down under! 😎✌💙🤝👍
@@MarkBryanRC Thanks mate!👩🤠, she always gets a big smile hearing from her Cobber brothers👌🎉. We're so glad it didn't catch fire but geez it would have pulled some extra views. Looking forward to your next run our great Mukka👍
@@outbackrcaustralia4895 Same here me Cobbers. always a smile when we hear from you guys down under! Oh yeah a fire would have upped the ratings of this video! I might have one more go at this is it ever stops raining matey! 🤪🤪🤟🤟
Great to see you got an improvement there Mark, not so good about the toasty wire and esc! Live to fight another day though, that's the main thing. The motor must be kind of similar to the Tamiya 11T that I'm using, I think the Super Modified is an 11x2 though I don't actually know!
Thanks Tony! Yeah I don't think the melted wires did anything to help the top speed! 😅 It's up and running again but no where near as fast as I was hoping. With the weather as it is I can't see me getting another run in! 😒 I think you got me on this one pal! 😎👊🤝👌
@@MarkBryanRC Hopefully you might be able to get a run in, its certainly looking mixed down here, mostly wet but I may have a window on Tuesday fingers crossed. Saturday looks like a nice day, but I'll be winging my way up to North Wales. I'll actually be passing through your neck of the woods on the way on the M42!
Hope it all works out well for you. Might be time to direct solder the ESC to your motor instead of using those brushed motor connectors Also a better battery with a better connector might be in order too. Maybe a high discharge HV shorty pack with 5.5mm Bullet connectors. You need to remember when your trying to get more power on only 2S the only way to do that is with higher current draw which requires higher gauge wire/larger connectors ECT.. also when current is too high trying to go though a thinner wire/connector that's when thing heat up and melt. You may be limiting yourself with a Dean's plug and regular 16awg brushed motor crimp connectors especially with that motor.
Hi there and many thanks for the very helpful comments! I agree with everything you said but I'm afraid I'm doing this on a budget with what I have available. Some kind folks have even donated some of the parts! But going forward I'll keep your advice in mind for the next challenge! Cheers! 🍻😎🙏👍
Wow over heating that motor something bad. Sorry about what ever your bad news was but a good friend and some RC should put a smile on your face. Nice run.
I know Kev, that was hotter than it should be for sure! Thanks for the kind thoughts, yeah it's family health issues again! But you are right, RC time with a good friend does help take your mind off things, so that's good! All the best, pal!
I know mate!!! Every time it's at the end of the road! 😅 Sods Law for sure! I soldered some decent leads on and it's up and running again. Rob says hi 👋😁👍
@@Paul__FC Oh wow good news the motor was OK! I need to try the single run approach! You are right on LiPo but last year on NiMh it did get faster after a couple of runs! I need to remember I'm on a Paul Coughlin LiPo!!!
Ooooh, melty melty!! Hopefully you get back out there and alls good so you can get a few more MPH out of it. Go borrow a few off of Brice; i'm sure he has a few you can borrow 😊😊
Melty McMelty indeed, Glenn! 😂 It will go a bit faster without the wires shorting but not sure if it's fast enough to catch you! Haha, yeah Brice has a few MPH to spare! 🤪👍
@@MarkBryanRC haha! I am hoping to try ludicrous this weekend, see how it goes with that. A new car will be out too although the weather is now 🌧🌧🌧⚡️⚡️
I tried ludicrous with this motor and got exactly the same speed! I also tried the same motor you have (12T Orion) but I only got 40 and on the same gearing as you - FFS what's going on?!?!?! 😭
Thanks for asking, Steve, appreciated. My mom had a seizure but is slowly recovering now, not good for sure but there is hope so not all bad. Take care pal.
Very cool 😎 racing time 👏🤣👍🌞😄😇♥️🏆😊👑👑😍🔥

A little toasty. Thats about how it went trying a absima b spec 14 winds. Melted itself apart.
