We play Asphalt 9 on the Switch all the time and I just downloaded it on my son's iPad to test it out with the controller and it works great. I'm definitely going to get an extra controller for myself for my iPad to play some games. Alto is fun.. I use to have it on my phone so I'm sure it will play nice with an controller as well

That said, with good enough internet you could stream higher end games just fine, something like Steam Link or Xbox Game Pass, that's your best bet for modern console gaming on an ipad.

Plus on asphalt 9 THERE’S LITERALLY A BIG BUTTON TO TURN OFF TOUCH DRIVE🤦♀️ Also, personally, why in the hell would you put an endless runner game on a list of the “best” iPad apps. It’s not even a good endless runner.
Dissatisfied with the games on iOS. COD mobile plays like console. Has some issues tho. Lack of quality racing game like Forza Horizon or NFS sucks and mortal Komatsu doesn’t support controllers so is a fail.

Actually you can control you vehicle in Asphalt 9. Just pause the game and go to control settings and choose the type of controls you like.
