Maybe they will bring some of this content in the future, what I see here is a restructuration to try to make the story better. Let’s hope that’s the case because the hurtful low popularity of this show doesn’t give me great hopes for a second season, I hope I’m wrong but well time will tell. I’m really liking the show, the story is great, the passing is great, the characters are very interesting and realistic, great surprise indeed.
The one thing I did not like about this episode was at the end where tanetsuke oji-san created a fake marriage contract going a step back from letting go and stop coping. I also liked how takae called out nijisan where he was wallowing in depression when his daughter needed him and grew up being anti-social.
This episode made me very uncomfortable, and not because of the age issue. The idea that this situation came about and then they're just going to reset the status quo, making a contract etc, it makes me uneasy. In one sense, I can see how Takae having the mind of a middle-age woman would lead to social challenges, but any lessons that could be learned are just kinda "nope, 8 years till we can legally reset our family life". Why that makes me uneasy is ... I don't know. If I were a widower reconnected with my dead spouse through reincarnation after a decade, would I do the same thing? :-/ Its not like this is a lolicon issue, the husband isnt attracted to his wife's prepubescent body, just the mind inside it. Grrrrr. I DONT KNOW!! I'll keep going with the show for now, but this episode made me uncomfortable - I'm not sure why - and I'm not sure I can get over that. Its like, this is such a private and magical situation for these people that I just kinda want to let them have their privacy. I feel like I'm taking crazy pills trying to write this out, so Imma just stop.
I think that they picked a great pacing and this may be best of season. I do hope that they grow into their current roles. If her mom is abusive, they could adopt her, and that way, stay family. Then remarry people who are their actual age. Not their incarnation additive age.

One of the issues that doesn't fit in this (and every) reincarnation as an adult in a child's body story is that although the experiences and memories from the previous life are there the BRAIN ITSELF has not developed enough to have adult mental processes. It's like having a modern storage system hooked up to a 80386 PC. Yeah, you may have Genshin Impact installed on the hard drive but you sure ain't playing it.
Yea I often think about that, although there’s a lot of young kids that are far smarter than adults, geniuses at age 10, so there are young brains capable of it. I did like in Mushoku Tensei how Rudy mentions that his brain in his new body is smarter than the brain from his old body. Kind of like how in your old life you’d be terrible at mathematics, adding up even small numbers is an issue, but your new body is capable of doing high level addition on the fly.

Look, interesting premise, but you brought up one real fact 8 years at that age is a big deal. Realistically this is psychological mess... Sorry, he should be able to eventually move on while having a different relationship her over the years. Sorry just my feelings on it. But I get the feeling mangaka is not going that way...
Im not reading the manga so i dont care too much how they are adapting it, the anime is amazing so ill assume they are doing a good job but honestly i dont care, not in a bad way haha reading my comment i know it sounds kinda bad how i said it but i mean that anime and manga are diferent media and i always think that one should judge the anime for what the anime does by itself and not for what it does comparing it with the manga, novel, etc etc even if the story is the same they should be treated as diferent products and evaluate the pros and cons of what they do on their own
Don’t be so quick to write off the new relationships angle; Mai can just change her mind (as females are wont to do) about moving on, even as early as ep 4, and encourage both of them to find new, more appropriate relationships
Yea I still don’t like when an anime moved things around and changes things, especially on a manga that’s still ongoing, they could do something that ends up clashing with something new in the future. I just hate when animes don’t stick to the manga, even little changes annoy me, never mind big changes that end up ruining the story like with Akame Ga Kill or Elfen Lied, both of those drove me out of my mind with anger, both are high on my list of favourite manga. Akame Ga Kill is my favourite Shonen, it’s a funny story as half the story is Shonen and the start of the story is Seinen.
Why the hell do so many people jump on this "Skipped content" BS? ... It'll probably explained in a later episode. So many people can't accept that Anime usually doesn't just 1:1 adapt the source .

If this really happened & your dead beloved wife comes back you’re not going to care about social issues & what strangers are going to think. She’s not a child, but I couldn’t watch this anime, I think it’d annoy me too much.
I did not like the marriage contract at the end. To me it goes to far and really puts him at risk. He should have his daughter take the lead in the relationship with his former wife. That would make it a little less uncomfortable.
You have never think about what you would do if your girlfriend/wife dies in early age ? This show explore that situation adding a supernatural trope to let the main characters confront about it, if you are thinking all the time that sh is in a 10 yo body you are not gonna enjoy or understand the show, her being in a young girl body is just another factor to consider there is never an indication about physical relationship with her is always a feelings thing, and pls before judging the guy behavyour think about what you would do in that situation

Agreed, I’m liking the anime as it is, if the story and the meaning of the story is intact then is fine by me, and I think they are doing a great job.
