That's kinda what i want to see, that i haven't yet, at least without digging into dozens of rando videos to find out. then there's dmg vs survivability argument. right now, survivability probably takes precedence with non-maxed gear, which this staff build doesn't really have outside of sloth. can spin 2 win survive getting hit while also dealing dmg? idk yet.
Benkei set bonus (except for chest for B agility), viper chest piece for B agility and 5% ki consumption. Use skikigami for confusion and poison for for even more damage. Guns need 2 different graces for 500+ hp. The build destroys ki and kills almost every boss, even humans, with ease.
I just started this game and went with a Kusarigama/Ninjutsu build however I started trying out other weapons and loved the splitstaff so I used a book of reincarnation and switched my build to a splitstaff/onmyo build and love it so far. Still have to build him up some but I just got thru the 5th main mission. Somehow beat Kamaitachi on the first try with the splitstaff. Love this build and great video!
100% Dream of the Demon completion here. You have to be very high level on your build because all enemies are damage sponges. Love the new weapon, I;m running a Benkei set build focused around the Dragon Dance skill, melts through everything. Can't wait to see some new builds from you!
Music choice is always on point... Jeac le Blanc from Onimusha 2 had a split-staff type weapon. This thing almost looks like a floppy gundam sword in motion when you have a buff lol

I’m there with you. I finally hit 2540 Damage on my Dual Bloodstained Cleavers at 170 (+16). It’s doing great damage but it’s hit box is very small. That’s why I’m considering switching over to staff, but if I do that I’ll have to get rid of all my Master Swordsman in exchange for something else.

Another thing the dlc added, that I haven't seen anyone cover yet: they raised proficiency levels above 30 now. So you don't have to pick n choose as much. Ninja and onmyo got raised past 50 as well
Hey @pwar, can I get your take on the purification talisman? I ran a test on purify earlier and it didn't seem to scale on +elemental damage so why use if it isn't buffed? Is it possible to do more damage than let's say lightening?
cuz i already shock enemies with the shikigami. purity is mainly there for a 4th debuff, which helps in depleting yokai's ki. the elemental dmg boost on yasakani is mostly for the shiki's as well. if you mean inari ele wpn dmg effect, again, it doesn't directly boost elemental, it boost your wpn dmg, if buffed with a talisman. i.e, your physical dmg.
Yo PWAR, are you gonna make an updated ninjitsu build or anything? Saw 2 different graces that looks like theyd make for good builds but not sure if they will be better than kato/hanzo...thats where you come in! Lol

Still working on finishing the reg game all while working on the Snowman, I find myself going between Odachi and Axe while playing it. Keeping the Soul Match to a minimum but having a hard time getting the accessories to have amrita life. Appreciate the videos keep up the awesome work
@@Artis312 currently working my way up the golden castle, sticking with the reg game Snowman helped me out plenty. Need that quality amrita for that heals on my chest, the way I modified it is when I get heal my def goes up. Would had been def and speed but the cat is too low lvl and expensive to keep.
You need saturated+confuse+back attack to make storm kunai point blank spam effective on dotd, a bit rng on the back attack position unless you re on coop play, so yeah, RIP kunai lol
Love the new dlc, it seems perfectly tuned. But maybe thats because i am still underleveled from the recommended mission level in DOTD 🤣. The New DLC missions however seem too small or less might i say, 🤔 not upto expectations ? I liked the reworked Umi bozu, although lot of people in the community were crying over it lol and that secret boss at the end ? Loved him too 🌩

Elemental weapon damage (stat you can roll on armor) apply to whole weapon damage like from Inari armor set bonus or only to element ? Because it's a bit bigger than Active skill Damage and I wonder what's better

it's just a dmg increase, whenever you attack with the wpn. now whether accumulation is based off that dmg, idk. idk if talisman is a % based off your dmg, or based off your raw, or simply based off your onmyo power.

But I haven't really had the need to farm for new gear at all. still using all my old stuff except for a new accessory with a star passive on it.The DlC felt short in comparison to the first nioh dlc.. but maybe i'm just not remembering it well since it was a while ago i played it.But cool build. I wonder what other weapon(s) we may get in the future dlc .
how do you get poison effect on enemies? I should use talismans on my weapon to get elemetal damage works (previously I used poison effect on weapons). so what is the optimal way to have elemental buff on weapon and poison debuf on enemy? Thanks a lot for reply
@@PWARGaming so if i use poison debuf on my weapon it will count as elemental? I thought that elements are fire water lightning purify and corruption. And poison is staus ailment. if so the only reason to have water /lightning element on weapon is extra buffs (more damage with water or slow throught lightning)?
Cool build but you do have a point about ethereal's dropping with the next DLC, idk if i wanna grind just to drop all my divine gear and farm ethereals and make a new build from scratch so i think i'll just stick to my current DB build, update that sucker to lvl 180 and just enjoy the game.
I think Dream of the demon is fair till you get to the bosses, as long as your updating your gear through soul matching and leveling yourself every mission or two you’re good to go.

I feel like splitstaff only works with heavy armor. The attacks have a long animation and takes too long to recover. I was hoping to improve my onmyo Genmei build, but is not working. Your build brings a little variety, but I can't see another one besides the tanky Benkei.
@Ali Miri yes! And dragon dance misses a lot too. I thought we got a kusarigama kind of weapon, but it is a lot worse. I'm hopping they fix this, maybr adding a way to cancel animation or hyper armor to be viable to light armor mages.
@Ali Miri I can literally destroy most bosses including humans with the splitstaff. Splitstaff is an endgame weapon. You need a good build to do good ki damage. If you can't defeat a single human boss, your build sucks.
the buff doesn't work with imbued element, only tailsmaan or oni-b, but I think it's still wise to imbue your weapon with either lighting or water, as you can stack dmg of selected element on other gears.
the nerf about poison is the melee damage against poisoned enemies because they're so strong,and yes Confusion can be only Elements(Fire,Water,Lightning,Purify(Corruption and Purify doesn't stack)
less then 10 hours for most. think mines was 7. dream of the demon tho will be long like usual, especially since its much harder than nioh 1's way of the demon, so slower to clear
Clearing the new mission takes about 4~5 hours. But there is tons of new stuff to collect (soul cores, armors, new stats, and a whole new deficulty) all of this takes at least 15 hours I guess.
The dlc is so worth it. All the bosses are fun, the new items. The split staff is amazingly fun, one of the most fun move sets in the game. Divine soul cores, demon parade scrolls, new sets, new hidden skills, new smithing texts, Grace set bonuses new star effects on forged or found equipment, and of course the new difficulty that makes the game actually challenging and fun again. The dlc levels themselves are really well designed and the new enemies are great even if there wasn't that much of it, I prefer quality over quantity anyways... Remember there's still 2 dlcs to come. Buy it you won't regret it.
How do you have 248 toughness with that gear? I'm probably just forgetting something but I barely get 200 toughess with the same armours.. Very nice build btw ^^ I hope it works in late game as well :)
Splitstaff, also known as Sansetsukon (three-sectioned-staff). Maxi's theme from SCIII, a nunchaku user based on Li Long, previous nunchaku (AND sansetsu-splitstaff user in some ports of Soul Edge)...nah, maybe I'm reading too much into this XD
You mean the video theme? Cause I think team Ninja is basing their weapon selection largely off weapons that they've used in older games, namely Ninja Gaiden. All the weapons available (aside from Hatchets and Spear) have been seen in Ninja Gaiden.

Yes. There's graces now, 1 of which is for ninjutsu, with a 4% damage reduction as well. Arbs there's 3 new shadow arts that make the old ones look like stones lol
apologies to PWAR about plugging another content creator on his channel but Fightincowboy does have a kusarigama build that doesn’t mainly focus on ninjutsu
So...one other TH-camr makes a Benkei set, the other makes a Tosa set and I honestly wasn't convinced, it was just the dragon dance inheritable that made the bulk of the DMG, and using Tosa feels like a shame with this weapon. Boom you start by taking an indirect shot at them and saying this is the best set 😂😂😂 This is definitely more my jam, but not sure dropping 2 set bonuses (3 shibata and 6 golden boy) for that 20% elemental dmg is worth it.
Oh no the damage is DEFINITELY worth it. Even before watching this vid I had already realized this weapon was build for elemental damage and began transforming my switchglaive set to something more elemental friendly and noticed a dramatic impact. I only regret not paying closer attention to this Yoriki set instead of just using it as soul match fodder. I'm going to have to take it all back to the drawing board 1st thing when I get off of work.
Hey man. I just wanted to point out that you had your Split Staff in your secondary weapon slot. So you aren't getting any of the passives from the split staff tree

But it does say in the tool tips of any weapon passive "When you have 'insert weapon name' equipped as your main weapon." I remember someone saying when the game first came out, that it means your weapon equipped in slot 1.
Nah it's just whichever weapon you're currently wielding. That wouldn't make any sense if you invested in to a weapon and all of the skills didn't work because it was in a different slot. You couldn't have weapon synergies that way. When u draw the weapon, u get the passives.
you can't see the % increase, but people tested it to be a 50% atk boost. i dislike it not showing the tooltip for your atk increase when using it, but eh, team ninja
massive ones, probably. moonlit snow without hyper armor is kinda bad for odachi overall, so you might want to opt out of moonlit for twin moons, or swirling snow. otherwise you'll have to pick your moments with landing the full msnow combo. sloth talisman definitely helps with that, but only against bosses obviously.

@@obi-wan1992 I wouldn't though, I use all the skills. DD isn't great against humans.... I would try to find a star active skill damage on armor instead. I've found 2 8.2% active skill damage when maxed out.

Been hunting for Dragon Dance damage Inheritable in Dark Omens and Mysterious One Night Castle on Dream of the Strong, have not had much luck. If anyone is willing to drop a revenant it would be much appreciated!
it's a new buff icon. it's basically like rage, but gives 50% atk boost. before we used tengen+yamamba. Now we use carnage/rage + nepeppoop. could use yamamba on top but harder to pull off on average due to short durations and needing more anima.

I definitely like it. it's not as fluent as the faster wpns, nor has many hyper armor capabilities, but its moveset is fun and the range/versatility of the normal attacks is great.
Hotei's Grace, Kuzuryu's Grace, Daikouten's Grace over and over. When are you gonna arrive INARI!? Of course I'm save scumming to get it for crying out loud. Only have 12 Oni-bi cores. lol

this weapon has so damn high dps so i think it is one of the best on applying status effect into enemies

thats not true... my onmyo is still caped at level 50 and my capacity is still 35

all your wpn dmg. basically ele wpn dmg = melee wpn dmg. the only condition is you have to have a buff on to activate it.

I think rn any build that puts out consistent (pretty much 100%) 1000s is a good build. Seems nicely balanced but I havent played much yet
I normally go with my own build but I was bored and try this and doesn't work so well on later

How do you get the last 2 stats on your gear??? I cant get gear with full stats
When you go to remodel the weapon choose your first stat and then before finishing you can choose a second stat.
how do you apply confusion in your build? Is it one of those added effect of a skill?
Thats what the shikigamis are for. Those together with a weapon buff talisman of choice.

trades drops are only random in demon, ng+ still static. so yah, ask in my discord to see if someone could drop it, or maybe reddit or something.

how do you get poison effect on enemies? I should use talismans on my weapon to get elemetal damage works (previously I used poison effect on weapons). so what is the optimal way to have elemental buff on weapon and poison debuf on enemy? Thanks a lot for reply
poison broth counts for elemental wpn dmg. otherwise poison shurikens/medusa powders do fine, like i used.
@@PWARGaming so if i use poison debuf on my weapon it will count as elemental? I thought that elements are fire water lightning purify and corruption. And poison is staus ailment. if so the only reason to have water /lightning element on weapon is extra buffs (more damage with water or slow throught lightning)?

Cool build but you do have a point about ethereal's dropping with the next DLC, idk if i wanna grind just to drop all my divine gear and farm ethereals and make a new build from scratch so i think i'll just stick to my current DB build, update that sucker to lvl 180 and just enjoy the game.

@Ali Miri Yes there is an effect that can roll on armor that lets you transfer rarity to another item in soulmatching at blacksmith.
I think Dream of the demon is fair till you get to the bosses, as long as your updating your gear through soul matching and leveling yourself every mission or two you’re good to go.

George Kalergis oh yea revenants are on a whole new level. I have like 5 k health and they can hit me with 3-5 hits and I’m gone.

I feel like splitstaff only works with heavy armor. The attacks have a long animation and takes too long to recover. I was hoping to improve my onmyo Genmei build, but is not working. Your build brings a little variety, but I can't see another one besides the tanky Benkei.
@Ali Miri yes! And dragon dance misses a lot too. I thought we got a kusarigama kind of weapon, but it is a lot worse. I'm hopping they fix this, maybr adding a way to cancel animation or hyper armor to be viable to light armor mages.
@Ali Miri I can literally destroy most bosses including humans with the splitstaff. Splitstaff is an endgame weapon. You need a good build to do good ki damage. If you can't defeat a single human boss, your build sucks.

Does elemental damage buff work with a weapon with the element imbued in it, or i must use like a lightning talisman to use the buff of Inari?
the buff doesn't work with imbued element, only tailsmaan or oni-b, but I think it's still wise to imbue your weapon with either lighting or water, as you can stack dmg of selected element on other gears.

The patch notes said that poison damage was nerfed, I guess its still good. Also, poison doesnt proc confusion only lightning, water, fire right?
the nerf about poison is the melee damage against poisoned enemies because they're so strong,and yes Confusion can be only Elements(Fire,Water,Lightning,Purify(Corruption and Purify doesn't stack)

I wanted to wait until the second DLC before I started playing Nioh 2 again but this build looks so fun. Is the DLC short or long?
Super short,only reason to play is dotd tbh
less then 10 hours for most. think mines was 7. dream of the demon tho will be long like usual, especially since its much harder than nioh 1's way of the demon, so slower to clear
Clearing the new mission takes about 4~5 hours. But there is tons of new stuff to collect (soul cores, armors, new stats, and a whole new deficulty) all of this takes at least 15 hours I guess.
The dlc is so worth it. All the bosses are fun, the new items. The split staff is amazingly fun, one of the most fun move sets in the game. Divine soul cores, demon parade scrolls, new sets, new hidden skills, new smithing texts, Grace set bonuses new star effects on forged or found equipment, and of course the new difficulty that makes the game actually challenging and fun again. The dlc levels themselves are really well designed and the new enemies are great even if there wasn't that much of it, I prefer quality over quantity anyways... Remember there's still 2 dlcs to come. Buy it you won't regret it.

you hold square or triangle on some attacks.so like high stance square, hold it and it extends it.

Splitstaff, also known as Sansetsukon (three-sectioned-staff). Maxi's theme from SCIII, a nunchaku user based on Li Long, previous nunchaku (AND sansetsu-splitstaff user in some ports of Soul Edge)...nah, maybe I'm reading too much into this XD
You mean the video theme? Cause I think team Ninja is basing their weapon selection largely off weapons that they've used in older games, namely Ninja Gaiden. All the weapons available (aside from Hatchets and Spear) have been seen in Ninja Gaiden.

there is none. you simply forge divine gear till you get the grace you want. its random. 10 total, so you have 1/10 chances each craft.

Yes. There's graces now, 1 of which is for ninjutsu, with a 4% damage reduction as well. Arbs there's 3 new shadow arts that make the old ones look like stones lol

Water is better
So...one other TH-camr makes a Benkei set, the other makes a Tosa set and I honestly wasn't convinced, it was just the dragon dance inheritable that made the bulk of the DMG, and using Tosa feels like a shame with this weapon. Boom you start by taking an indirect shot at them and saying this is the best set 😂😂😂
This is definitely more my jam, but not sure dropping 2 set bonuses (3 shibata and 6 golden boy) for that 20% elemental dmg is worth it.
Oh no the damage is DEFINITELY worth it. Even before watching this vid I had already realized this weapon was build for elemental damage and began transforming my switchglaive set to something more elemental friendly and noticed a dramatic impact. I only regret not paying closer attention to this Yoriki set instead of just using it as soul match fodder. I'm going to have to take it all back to the drawing board 1st thing when I get off of work.

Hey man. I just wanted to point out that you had your Split Staff in your secondary weapon slot. So you aren't getting any of the passives from the split staff tree

Nah it's just whichever weapon you're currently wielding. That wouldn't make any sense if you invested in to a weapon and all of the skills didn't work because it was in a different slot. You couldn't have weapon synergies that way. When u draw the weapon, u get the passives.

you can't see the % increase, but people tested it to be a 50% atk boost. i dislike it not showing the tooltip for your atk increase when using it, but eh, team ninja

massive ones, probably. moonlit snow without hyper armor is kinda bad for odachi overall, so you might want to opt out of moonlit for twin moons, or swirling snow. otherwise you'll have to pick your moments with landing the full msnow combo. sloth talisman definitely helps with that, but only against bosses obviously.

The ultimate constitution effect on revenants is broken. It scales off of hp, and revenants have a lot more hp than regular players.

What exactly does nuppepo stack with ....he dosnt have any attack buffs
it's a new buff icon. it's basically like rage, but gives 50% atk boost. before we used tengen+yamamba. Now we use carnage/rage + nepeppoop. could use yamamba on top but harder to pull off on average due to short durations and needing more anima.

I definitely like it. it's not as fluent as the faster wpns, nor has many hyper armor capabilities, but its moveset is fun and the range/versatility of the normal attacks is great.
