Yep. The Weather Channel was all about weather and they used to play Jazz Music but now it's horseshit with dumb shows at night and weekends and the weather channel is only on Live from 5AM to 8PM ET Monday thru Friday and weekends from 6AM to 1PM ET then it's all dumb shows so TWC sucks now these days and i watch WeatherNation because they have 24/7 weather and they play Jazz Music and WeatherNation is what TWC used to be so i watch WeatherNation.

There used to be a Smooth Jazz FM radio station in almost every state from like, the Late 80's up until the Late 00's. You missed out. The genre mainly got popular because of Kenny G and nostalgia for the 50's Jazz Age in the 80's when Elvis was still relevant. Smooth Jazz/Elevator Music is past its prime now, but as far as I know, certain weather channels and (occasionally) a store called Mariano's still play it.
I'm gonna assume that the "January Precipitation" total of 3.94in. on the ticker is still the December Data... 4 inches since midnight would've probably put a slight hamper on the fireworks display :)

I kind of prefer the real deal to the vaporwave and lo fi takes on the idea of the Weather Channel. It's not so much that it's less depressing or slow or whatever, although that might be part of it. But there's obviously an authenticity to it. I don't remember feeling like I was tripping at 4 AM, all alone and thinking about the decay of society while watching the Weather Channel in 1994. Instead, I was coming back in on a hot summer day from the swimming pool, or playing SimCity on my old desktop PC, or enjoying a sick day off from school while mom flipped between this and reruns of Animaniacs. Know what I mean?
