I played quite a bit on 1999 but haven't checked out Quarm. Would love to see what it's like so my vote is earlier Quarm videos :) Thanks for the always entertaining videos.

Quarms UI is actually older than p99. You can even use the original UI by activating it in the ini. P99s is a titanium client they modified to look like velious. Quarms client is from the Mac pop era and is compatible with what comes in the triology box.

Quarm is awesome. I've been playing it non-stop since like Oct 8th when I found out about it. There are many many issues, but for a server run by 2 people more or less, its been amazing. Cant wait for more QoL stuff to come even though they canceled the new client idea, they will still be making most of the improvements they said they would. I too absolutely hate the "new" skelly models. I tried running the patching tool to revert them, but it was a no-go. I spent a few days trying to fix it and ended up with no progress. It kind of sours the experience on my 40 necro. Since they are removing the legacy stuff and my necro was a dark elf, I decided to do a ranger and make use of a guise since my necro couldn't. I was worried I would not hit 30 in time but I did with a month to spare! So happy you are loving it man, but also happy you are still doing P99 content. To any of the people reading who thinks Quarm sucks, or thinks P99 sucks, the only thing that sucks is your tribalism, let's just all be happy we have options for our classic EQ experiences :)

When e.g. Kunark launches on Quarm, Kunark content would be the most interesting, to me at least 🙂
And there will be conflicts when you have this many players, no matter the name of the server. That's just how it is. It's all about how we as players handle and solve those conflicts, though. If we e.g. choose to get offended right away, or if we choose to just take it easy and solve it peacefully. A lot could definitely get better at that, but mostly it's positive interactions from what I've encountered thus far. Thoroughly enjoying playing on the PQ server, that's for sure ☺
I know there are problem even boxing is a problem in p99 and Quarm. Been catching people two boxing many times ..specially on map areas not well used by many (exept necros/bards) LOLAs soon as they spot me they log out ..
@@rglaredo Haven't spotted any here at all, but guessing they're unavoidable, to some extend at least. Also guessing that the admins are somewhat dealing with them, though.
Always excited for more of your content! If we have to wait a year for Quarm content I'll just have to level my patience. One benefit of releasing early would be adding excitement/interest to the server and maybe motivate people like me to try it out. Not sure if more people there is a good thing though since you mention the kill stealing and fighting for camps.

Quarm is actually using older client than P99, P99 uses Titanium which has like 10 expacs. Quarm is using the Al'Kabor Mac client which only had up to PoP iirc
Thanks for another great video. I think waiting for a year would be worth it just to remember the initial excitement on Quarm that will have faded some by then. Plus it would give you more to talk about on your Project 1999 walkthroughs which I always look forward to seeing when they come up every month.

I was going to mention the specters in Oasis and someplace else you should go, Reddit said that they were usually camped....except that the tower was usually overlooked and NOT camped. I thought about posting it in your last video, but I already had two or three comments in there and I didn't know if you would even see it again. Maybe I should have done that anyway....

just FYI the quarm client is based on the Luclin era EQMac client, which is actually quite a bit more "classic" (you can actually use the real Stone UI), and in fact in-line with the ultimate era the server will be in than titanium client which is circa OOW/DoDh. P99 devs have just put a lot of cosmetic work into making that much newer client more "classic feeling". The skele model in the quarm EQMac client is circa Luclin; you can mod the client to bring in the classic wolf and skele models if you like.
I've been loving Quarm. I feel bad abandoning my level ~32 SK on blue but it's like a ghost town compared to Quarm. Been soloing mostly without much griefing, but I've grouped with a bunch of great people too.
On the Quarm videos: I wouldn't say dump all of them at once, but you could alternate them if you're playing on both servers simultaneously.

Quarm is actually using an older client than p99. Anything that seems newer in the UI is custom from the devs. There are actually quite a few things on Quarm that are more classic than p99. As for the skeleton models, there are files you can download and drop into your folder to revert to pre Luclin models. There are plenty of little QoL things they have done that are not classic as well. I just like that there are options. We can play both as you are doing. It's a great time to be a classic Everquest fan. I do love that Quarm has the classic boats and everything. A small touch but I don't like the p99 boat system. Anyway, great video as always. Looking forward to the future releases. Are you a fan of Super Guitar Bros btw? I feel like you would be if you aren't. Cheers

@rglaredo lol, it will eventually but not for a looong time. People do use that nparse or whatever it's called. Some add on that basically makes a map out of using /loc in the background.

hey. I play on quarm. it's actually really nice there. it's great to play everquest and experience fun things like getting legacy loot and stuff where it's not just bottlenecked by a handful of idiots and server admins for the sake of "classicness".
Been playing Quarm too. Got a lvl 37 chanter, 34 warrior 30 cleric and making a wizard now. Hoping to get a mana stone oh him and maybe make a necro and get him to 30 as well
I started playing Quarm and got 3 levels of P99 because of your videos, I guess I'll stay on Quarm because it sounds more promising, I do greatly prefer the P99 client though D:

I have watched classic EQ videos for years and read about it during my free time on the wiki and forums.
I was finally able to fit a PC into my budget and have a little bit of time most days to play.
I had always assumed I would play on p99 green but as soon as I started playing Project Quarm came out.
I have FOMO (fear of missing out) about not playing on quarm. But I have already gotten to level 10 on p99 green and amassed some gear. Any advice Sage?
By the way I can’t get enough of your content so if my vote counts I say release the quarm videos asap. But if not I will be happy to keep rewatching through your current library as I have done for the past year!
I suggest starting a character on Quarm that's a different class, one that intrigues you, split your time evenly on both for a week or two, then decide which you're enjoying more!

I'm a newer quarm player, and what I can tell you, neither servers are going anywhere anytime soon. I played on project 1999, and quarm is just doing different things. Project 1999 aims for accuracy, quarm aims for making a newer experience with tweaked drops, changes to raids, item spawns, things like that. If you want to play as close to the original everquest as you can, go for p1999. If you wanna try out something different, try out quarm. Play a little on both, and see what you'd like to play, I really want to emphasize quarm is *not* going anywhere anytime soon! The timeline has the last patch quarm would get to be in 2026.
Go ahead and release the videos....
Just make play lists for those that don't want to see Quarm or P99 or want to keep them separated in their mind....
tdlr I vote release it sooner than later - I'm p99 originally and trying to break in to Quarm, I love Quarm in theory and I'm so excited it has a good player-base. But I have hard time with the third person view mouse thing, I even have the fix installed which is 1000x better but still it's not the eq I'm so used to it bugs me. But I going to try hard to look past it. Anyways, I'd love to vicariously experience Quarm a little bit through your playthroughs. - I love eq playthroughs but I absolutely cant stand most of the people I've watched so far's voice (voice meaning the whole shebang, personality too). But enjoying you, I listen to it when I'm grinding in EQ.

I took one to 60 on P99 Blue. It gets better with quadding for sure!
While there are certainly parts of this video that were enjoyable to watch, the character eye view of sand dunes is not one of them. It is not just you either, I think all the TH-camrs posting their EQ exploits show us the game from the character eyes. Yes, I know this is 2mths old and you cannot change it, but perhaps in the future....
Aside from that, this was fun to watch.
Excuse my stupid question, but have you posted your Quarm videos? I think your idea is awesome, and if you have not I hope you do. Hopefully the view is not character eye level, though😊

I'm on Quarum also, but it's been fairly toxic at times....but going to 30 to get the legacy items at least.
I just noticed that the Ak'Anon music is suspiciously similar to the music from the fair at the beginning of Chrono Trigger. I didn't go and listen to the soundtrack to confirm or anything but I'm not crazy, right? Specifically the tune starting at 37:33

Have been Playing on Quarm and have a few characters on p99. I like p99 client better. Way better client than quarm . But I wish p99 had PoP enabled. My favorite live server is actually Agnarr!! But is behind a paywall even if is empty. Now secrets literally broke that wall down with Project quarm. I'm definitely going to stay on quarm unless something bad happens. Hate the bard nerfs on quarm, the jitteness of camera , lags and the mouse look being what it is, but quarm makes up on other things like population, slow progression on expansions and limit cap on mana stones per characters etc. Good videos man wish you luck on Quarm I think p99 will remain almost empty like right now lol ..and I wish those p99 guys open at least one more expansion .

The qwarm release videos...your choice. Lotta new start content out right now might be cool to delay 6 to 9 months. Enjoy the anon feeling of your qwarm characters and shown us when you are ready. Yes...ks'ing just..happens on qwarm.
Think it being delayed will be better for you personally. Sure, you miss out on the early excitement, but anything with EQ takes time to make content.
Once you get past the early stages, each video takes longer and longer to put out, which people forget what happened last episode by the time the new one is out.
So, getting ahead on videos where you can release one every 1 to 2 weeks, and still have a breathing room to get out another in a reasonable time but still having a few videos already prepared just on case.
Then, when you hit those long grind levels, people are more invested and hooked, most people will understand a longer wait time for the next video while still remembering the previous one. But a quick recap of the prior video may help out as well.

That's one of the reasons I don't play Quarm. I absolutely despise Planes of Power. I have almost nothing against Luclin aside from the updated models and the fact that you're able to bind in the Nexus and enter it via a 2 way door. Wouldn't mind it being 1-way so once you leave, you're not going back in without doing the spires again. Would love a server that never goes past Luclin, or if they really need to, a modified PoP where you can't bind in any of the planes and all the portal books are removed so you can only enter via the book in Nexus so you don't ruin all the social aspects of travel completely. Can deal with a small hit, but ideally, just remove all the stones in PoK aswell except the ones to Tranquility and Nexus

releasing them later will most likely just frusterate players who can't go back to quarms beginning to play and experience what it was like, while you're releasing the videos like they are new.
2 months in, the server is already drastically different than it was during the first 3 weeks

P99 will never have new content. they've been saying that since like 2012. its a dead end.
P99's PoP would be ideal but it will never, never happen.
Quarm is the only future. yes, the client is poop. But Luclin/PoP are the best EQ eras. The classes get really developed - no more worthless classes like ranger or wizard. And the content is far more challenging than the easymode warr+20 clerics boredom of Velious. btw Quarm shows you how to use the old skels and wolves....
