I never played legacy. I only started around 2018 ish I'm super glad Hapis making a return but but I wished I had the old Legacy nostalgia... the closest I get to that is seeing old Bchillz clips

@@INeatFreak You could repair structures by looking at them and clicking the number of your hotbar you had the wood in!
One of many things people didn't know, such as researching research kits.
@@SongOfDeer And no cooldown on repairing while being attacked! So it was enemy ammo vs your resources fight!
Nothing wrong with players customizing their appearance. It's a huge aspect of multiplayer games that Rust has been missing for years. I welcome the change.
We need bicycles in Rust. You could craft them with gears, metal pipes, blades, leather etc

I dont understand the concept of "you get what you get" with regards to character models. Like full stop, what's the point? Its supposed to have RPG elements but the most fundamental one.... (you) is without player choice/preference. Would love to hear opposing thoughts.

Was so nice to be able to select old patches to go back to in the properties and play them, although they were all dead.. Then when they removed that, discord like bpblast popped up and you could play legacy, old bp, exp system, idk why facepunch cant just bring ONE of them back

I feel the random appearance of your character is a unique part of the game that shouldn't be changed.
In reality it only proliferates an alt account market with good character rolls.

Is the Legacy Shelter going to most likely be a default BP? If so, this could be a game changer to early game fresh spawns.
god thatd suck so bad XD map would be LITTERED with them itd be so terrible for performance and especially if they created building priv god forbid thatd be a nightmare
@@zombamin2525 in legacy they decayed quickly and didn't use building priv, it was basically just 4 walls and a door to separate you from the outside world, that would decay within a few hours.
I think they should allow stashes to be detected by the metal detector if it has any metal in it or items containing metal.
I hope there will be no player customization it was always a fun twist to see how your friend who just got the game would look like

I hope characters customization is limited to hairstyles and the like, maybe face paint or piercings, anything you could easily change about your own looks irl
Adding a proper long range hunting shotgun is a nice prospect

I agree they should stick to their guns with how they approached the characters. BUT, at least give a different generated character each wipe - or something you can work up throughout a wipe that either randomizes or keeps the character.
I started playing when underwater maps were just added, quite insane how much the game has changed since.
not having the rust character tied to steam ID is a loss, loved hearing my friends reactions to this informations made the game more fun and u would learn to like ur character
They need to add more drone stations to safe zones even if like 1 or 2 drone drops. You should also be able to sell fertilizer at more points then bandit to ward off one person hogging the machine for hours. You should be able to sell fert at ranch or setup a farmers market safe zone where you can buy seeds or sell foods and or buy teas. They should make it also that if you have a personal drone you should be able to use it to buy from peoples shops and use the computer station to fly it there and back.

We need to have the option of a 10 year item like the frog boots that we all get, and anyone after this birthday won't get.

I would like to see limited character customization. Maybe selecting just hair and beard style but things like Skin color, hair texture, height, weight, facial structure and maybe even skin blemishes (birth marks, moles and such) being based on STEAM ID. Having weight and height I could see being standardized across all characters because then you would end up with people trying to reroll steam ids to get the shortest character and selling that account.
Gender, skin color, hair and facial hair is all they need. Im tired of being bald lady. 😂😂

Ah yes, I have fond memories of a freshie in legacy, slapping down a wood shelter and putting a metal door on it, thinking i was safe for the night.
After years and years of being stuck as my rust character I don't believe customization should be added, not that i'm bitter it just added to the charm of rust
Character Customisation? Yes. Once everything else is done; all of the concept limbo stuff has either been added or dismissed, all the bugs fixed and the game is completely optimised then of course start working on this. Until then, everything else should take priority!
As it's been said a thousand times before, they should implement Character Customization as hair, facial hair and hair color exclusively, full character customization would be a big step in the wrong direction for Rust and it's originality factor.

Absolutely, if you could customize your skin color then everyone would just pick whatever blends in the best.
Keep talking about legacy Rust. The more people talk about it, the more likely it is that it actually makes a return. It was around for a loooong time after experimental Rust became a thing, but it was only played by hackers and eastern europeans. Hopefully, it can come back with a more dedicated fan base. Legacy Rust was just something you had to be there for. It's great.
I feel like rust should have the sea of thieves approach to player customization, where you can only pick randomly generated characters
I know some people are worried about the voxel raiding thinking it will be too difficult to repair during raid, but if you ask me, I think it could be further expanded on in what I think to be a really positive way. In Battlebit, you can use the pickaxe to basically knock a little hole out of a wall to shoot out of, in technical terms this is called a murder hole. So, if players have the ability to make a small hole out of a wall with a specific tool that doesn't compromise the structure, it could potentially be really good.
Hopefully if they bother adding voxel raiding that they add grid-snapping placement of items.

My player model is awesome. As long as there is a option for “legacy” in which you can go back to the original character you start with at least.

didn't they add something a few wipes ago to stop bases from suddenly lagging you and popping into existence? I haven't noticed any difference.
Always hated not being able to choose my default appearance in the game, so hoping character customization will be aimed at changing that 🤞 (even if they brought in a system like SoT where u had to pay one time per change I would happily do it!

That would be terrible. The idea that you're stuck with what your character looks like on random look great. It would completely remove the charm the game brings as people will overengineer it to get the best customisations options for stealth and what not.

No character customization, it's one of the best things about rust and with so many changing names constantly it helps with identification and bounty's too.

I feel like they shouldn't allow character customization, though i'd like to see more variety on hairstyles, beards, facial complexion and such but leave it all random like it is right now.
Maybe a feature that has hair growth the more you stay alive and could maybe create some razor or something that would allow to cut hair, that would be nice.

I agree about player customization. I like the idea of everyone having their own completely unique player model. I do however think that they should try to implement a system like that of Sea of Thieves to make where no two player models are quite the same; since in the current state of the game it is entirely possible (and not too unlikely) to find another player with the same player model as yourself.
Voxel raiding would make the game so much more interesting imo
With just this short segment to go on it seems like a poor-mans pixel bunker.
I can already hear builders lament the fact they need to destroy 25% of a particular wall for their perfect base designs.

player customization could be implemented to some degree and still keep in the spirit of the way rust already is. i mean, just like in rust we humans in real life are stuck with whatever ugly mug we're born with. but we can change some things about our appearance. maybe an item that will let you give yourself a haircut and change your hairstyle ingame? maybe dyed hair? maybe face paint or body paint?
true, they should keep the base model and let us customize some things. only the hair would be kinda meh so body and face paint would be cool.
hmm if anything random it should be different every server you go on. than just getting stuck with one character model from the start of playing; except all the times the devs felt like changing stuff so, my dude doesnt look cool anymore anyway. Just let me do the changing at this point.

ya no they need to just get on the boat like every survival and let you pick your gender. when there was a petition for this with over 30k sigs that should a sign but nope face punch is pure lazy sorry to say. the games slowly dying out even all skin prices have dumped so bad now with everyone leaving lol

I loved legacy shelters. Id play music by small rad and people loved it.
Rust goes 10 years in December. I bought it January 2014.
Need to finish the AI guys at outpost and such so you can do their missions. They areas of still having guys that just stand there with “I have nothing for you at this time.”

They should bring back the player deployable pumpjack and quarry system. I miss those days of the little compounds dotting the landscape for looting.....

I'd only be okay with character customization if you had say maybe up to 3 and chose one before loading into a server. You can't customize it without losing all ur BPs across any server you've played on. That way you can have some options but still cant change ur appearance mid wipe. Sometimes people change names mid wipe but i recognize their character model.
